I have been taking my car to the same Duke of oil for 20 years. Recently went for my regular oil change, to the exact same location in ******** that I always go to, and they completely stripped my oil pan and the plug. I build cars for a living and my fianc is a mechanic. I had them explain the situation to him and they claimed it was due to wear and tear. They stated they were not responsible. They offered to put in a temporary plug with an anchor in it, but told me I would then have to get my oil pan changed immediately. I did not believe that was my only option and wanted a second opinion. They topped off my oil and did not resolve anything or take responsibility for the problem.

In order to proceed with our research on this complaint, we are going to need additional information.  We show the last date of service for this customer as 8/25/23.  The complaint doesnt have any vehicle information to allow further discovery.  We would be happy to look into this if we are given the proper information, ie. a copy of an invoice,  to research.

    Thanks,

The problem occurred on February 7, 2023.Went to duke of oil in ********** for a simply car wash. Vehicle was working perfectly fine no problems/issues at all before getting there. I pull up in the car wash, turn the car off BUT leave the key in the ignition. As Im waiting in the lobby, roughly 25 to 30 minutes passed by when an employee came and asked me which key is it? I grabbed the key and he went back to try it. He returned again saying the key doesnt work. So I got up and walked over to my vehicle trying it for myself. The key didnt even go in anymore. I asked him what did you do to it? His response was I tried 2 other keys and those didnt work. I told him to go get the manager. The manager tries to do it and he was unsuccessful. The manager walked back in the lobby to grab the phone to call someone that might have a clue of why its not going in. He tries it again while on the phone with someone and their response was that my ignition was on its last leg and it just stopped working. When I heard that, I already knew they were gonna try and blame my car for what happened. The manager gave me the phone and I was on the phone with corporate (a guy named ****) he told me I have to take the vehicle to his other shop in Highland IN. He said I have to pay for the tow truck which was $85 and if we find out that it was our fault well reimburse your $85 plus fix the ignition, so I agree. I Get to other duke of oil and they said we cant confirm that someone had broke it, it couldve been that you have to many keys. I simply told them I want my car fixed and Im not paying for it. I leave the car overnight, call them back and the employee said that corporate (****) said we will pay for labor if you pay for the part which is $140 and I told them thats not gonna happen, I wanna speak with ***************** forward 2-3 days later I cant get in contact with **** at all. Called his office and hes not there. Hes been gone for a week they say, still no response.
