      Read their contracts carefully. They will charge for *** insurance even if you decline coverage. Bad business from a low budget company

      On June 15, 2025, I pre-rented a compact car using *************, for pick up at 6/16/2025 for $259.68 USD. Priceline contracts with a variety of car rental companies, but for this particular car rental, Priceline assigned the pre-rental to ACE Rent A Car. I was traveling from *******. Using the offsite shuttle that ACE provided, I arrived early at ACE at 2:30 pm for a 3:00 pm car rental pick-up. ACE informed me that I would have to wait until 3:00 pm to check in, or there would be an additional fee, so I waited the additional time required by ACE. *** then informed me that instead of a compact car, they would be providing me with an (unwanted) Minivan, even though they had an overabundance of compact cars in the lot, and that I had no say in the matter. Then, to my surprise, they informed me that **the State of Hawaii** required them to charge me the additional $39/day for a mandatory nonwaivable collision protection, even though I already had car insurance with State Farm, and had requested to waive the coverage. I supplied *** with my State Farm car insurance policy number and active coverage information, to no avail. The additional ACE insurance upcharge would be $39.99 x 12 days, or $468.00, over and above the $259.68 I had already paid to Priceline for the compact car rental agreement. Apparently, this bizarre business practice is not uncommon with ACE. After contacting Priceline, ********* requested I cancel the contract with *** and leave the (off campus) ACE facility. Not nice. After putting me on hold for 30 minutes, Priceline then refunded my $259.68, and I was able to get a car rental from a different agency. Apparently, this is a routine business practice with ***. Also, theyre falsely blaming the State of Hawaii, making the State of ******, and presumably, the Airport Authority, appear to be inhospitable, cruel, and mean. *** needs to take direct responsibility for its own bizarre business practices.

      ?? Warning: Do Not Rent from ACE Rent a Car ??Returned the car in perfect condition with photo proof. A day later, I was accused of damage with no photos, no case number raise (a month later raise), and no official notice. $1,000 was taken from my deposit without evidence, and the car was rented out again before I was even contacted. Extremely shady and unprofessional. Do your research this happens all the time with them just read the ********** sure a *****/******/etc will respond and say something o distract you. Protect yourself avoid renting here at all costs.

      Max age of driver is 80!This was not made clear until we arrived at Ace near ***, even though I provided drivers license and birth date info a day prior to arrival.They then told us my husband at 82 was too old and Ace would not transfer the car reservation to my name and I am under 80.

      Good morning.  None of our Florida locations have a maximum age limit. ACE Rent A Car does not have a location close to the Ft. ***** airport. Many years ago we had one close to Ft. ***** but its been closed for a long time now.  Its possible you may have the wrong car rental company.

      Wow.... kept charging my card for a ****** amount.... over and over at the counter until I ran out of credit. They then said that they never received the authorizations. They called Amex. Amex gave them the proof that they had the funds..... they said **** was defrauding them. They were really clueless as to how it was all supposed to word

      Do not rent a car from the **************************************** on Frontage. The van we rented was filthy inside, had many scratches on the outside and smelled like an ashtray. When we returned the vehicle, we were told it was ok to go. Three days later, they sent an email from an adjuster at ******** Auto Claims saying we cracked the windshield. This statement was incorrect. *** has not released the video of us returning the van. I spoke with **** at customer care. Still no video was produced. I'm currently trying to get the video from ***** at the location. I'm getting the runaround. The adjuster, ******, hasn't responded to the emails. Ace is trying to bully us into paying for damage we didn't cause.

      ******. This place is a complete SCAM. I prepaid several months back for a rental pickup 6/9/2025 at the *********** location. *** at the desk asked if I'd like to add the insurance and I said no I have my own. He asked what kind did I have I told him progressive. I asked what he was charging me an additional $335.00 when I had prepaid he said I would get the $200 and the additional was for fees. He lied the additional I found out later was the daily insurance I clearly informed him I DID NOT WANT. I called the location once I returned home and asked them to refund me not only the $200 deposit but the additional $135. The woman told me they will not give me my money back. I will now be disputing with my bank. She told me I signed and agreed to the insurance. So he clearly switched something in the system to where it states I was agreeing before I signed. I will not only dispute the charge but I will be going to corporate as well as suing this company. If I could give a negative zero star I would. I work way to hard for my money to just allow this lame rental car company to just steal my money. I am not the one!!!!
