      I'm not liable for this debt with ELEMENTS FINANCIAL F. The date that is from January 5, 2023. I do not have a contract with this collection agency. This company did not provide me with the original contract that I requested.

      Elements Financial ran a hard credit inquiry on my credit report on May 5, 2023. I have never heard of this company before nor have I ever given my credit information for any sort of financial loan. I immediately called them explaining this, and they said they will call me back to get this resolved and they never did. This is a scam, I never authorized this credit inquiry, this is a fraud, and they are not willing to help.

      Dear BBB:

      We have evaluated the inquiry from **** El *********************** regarding his credit pull conducted by Elements Financial.

      Our partners at *******/Lending Tree received this customer's application to refinance a 2016 ********** Tiguan. Prior to viewing offers of credit, the customer had to provide the last 4 digits of his Social Security number to accept the terms as stated within the online application. As part of that process, one can see and read a full disclosure of the fact that moving forward can result in one or more soft and/or hard credit inquiries from up to 5 **************** of which Elements Financial was one in this scenario. 

      This process requires all applicants to agree to terms and conditions prior to any lender moving forward with the proper steps of reviewing a loan application,including the credit pull. Without that legal consent, Elements Financial never would have received **** El ************************* application to review. If he selected another offer/lender for the refinancing, its possible that he never viewed the offer that Elements extended to him, but the credit pull was authorized.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. 

      The fundamental piece missing here is I never provided ANYONE my last 4 of my social or any other information. I never authorized this or any other credit inquiry, nor provided information to run it. I do not need any auto loan for my vehicle or any refinancing. I have already put a fraud alert on my Equifax. Please understand that this is a scam. I am trying to explain to you that this is a fraudulent error and I am requesting you remove this inquiry. Please help me.

      An Elements representative from our *********************** spoke directly with **** El ***********************. He advised that he has never visited Credit Karma, the source of the Autopay application Elements Financial received in his name. While information within the application was accurate, its an option that someone else applied fraudulently with his Social Security number.We will request that Equifax removes the inquiry from his credit report.

      I have tried contacting Elements several times in the past few years and most recently in 2022. After speaking with several individual and waiting over an hour on the phone each time I have received no follow up communications via emal, phone, or mail. 1. I am unable to access my account online. They reset my password and it does not work 2. I have submitted claims of fraudulent activity over the phone and have received no communications. 3. They keep taking my auto pay because I cannot stop it and I cannot identify new fraudulent purchases as Elements keeps milking my account for payments.I cannot upload any information as I do not receive physical mail and I am unable to log into my account for years despite several calls and password resets.

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

      Based on ************************** complaint, we have reviewed our communication channels and records. Elements has an address warning flag indicating we need a current address. This flag is placed when we reach returned mail or from an address verification with ***************** *************** The phone number in our records is the same as the complaint. The email is the same as the complaint updated per phone call on 11/9/21; however, the email used for online ************* code does not match the email as shared in the complaint. Below are the findings to the members complaint:

      2/28/21 last login per our records
      11/9/21 called to update email
      Credit card dispute claims reviewed 1 claim credited back to credit card on 11/17/22

      Resolution:  Based on the contact information provided by the BBB, Elements will reach out to ************************** by phone to review and resolve any remaining concerns and to assist with updating his ************* code and password resets.

      On April 13, 2023 this company did a hard hit to my credit. I used a 3rd party auto refinance company,*****, that guaranteed none of its lenders would do a hard pull on my credit unless I went forward with one of the pre-approval offers. As a matter of fact, the initial pre-approval information that I provided to *****, allowed me to continue to the pre-approval process without entering my social security number. And the very next day there was hard inquiry on my credit report by an unknown Elements Financial Federal Credit Union who does not include their address or any contact Information with the inquiry. Reading previous complaints, and the credit unions response, I will be pre-emotive and tell them to provide the electronic consent that they are going to say I agreed to, that allowed them to pull my credit. There isnt any. If there were, I probably would had to provide my social security number. Again, please provide the electronic consent and audit trail for that consent. Otherwise this needs to be removed from my credit.

Within the Terms section of that online application is an expandable area labeled Credit Pull Authorization.By clicking there, one can see and read a full disclosure of the fact that moving forward with an application can result in one or more hard credit inquiries.  

      Credit Karma, along with *****/TSG, has a thorough disclosure process in place. The process requires all applicants to agree to terms and conditions prior to any lender moving forward with the proper steps of reviewing a loan application,including the credit pull. Without that legal consent, Elements Financial never would have received ************************ application to review.
