They are harassing me to hire them to re-roof my house. I have repeatedly told them that I wasn't ready and I will get back with them in a few days. The are constantly emailing, calling and dropping by my home. My last communication was to leave me alone and I wasn't going to hire them for any work now or in the future. They still emailing asking when they can start the work.Business Response

Kingdom Roofing Systems takes reports of harassment very seriously. We researched this claim to ensure we did not need to take further action beyond the request from this customer to have no further contact. Our policy is not to continue to reach out to customers once asked to stop. It is important to note that in this case, Kingdom received a signed contract from this customer on 7/19/2024. The signed contract is proof that we were hired to work on his home. We worked with their insurance company to help with this claim. We waited a month to follow up with the customer after the claim had been submitted. Once we received word that the customer has been communicated with we reached out to begin the work we have been contracted to do. The homeowner said they had no information from the insurance company via a phone call. We asked the insurance provider to resend the information to the customer per his request. The next day our Salesman stopped by his home (one time) to make sure he had the email. At that point, the customer threatened to call the cops on our Salesmen for trespassing. At this point, Kingdom will be moving forward with canceling this contract. This will ensure no further contact from our company.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I only signed for an estimate of the work not the actual work. Nothing more than that was my understanding and I have asked 4x that I wasnt ready for any work to proceed and was continuing harass to start the work. My last email stated that if you wont leave me alone then I dont want you to do any of the work. But you keep insisting on a time frame and I will give you one now January 1st. 2285. No money exchange hands and your sale *** keeps wanting to sit down and discuss adding options which suggest that the was no contract for the ***lacement.Business Response

There seems to be some confusion on what agreement was signed. Attached you will find the signed retail contract. This makes Kingdom Roofing Systems responsible for the work. There was no cancellation to this on the customers part per page 5 so this legally binds Kingdom with completing the work. There has not been additional contact from our salesman since the complaint and a cancellation of your contract has been issued. You will be notified of the cancellation transaction and there will be no additional contact from Kingdom on this matter if the cancellation is adhered to.Customer Answer

I am not paying any cancellation fee for something I didnt authorize to begin with and if I get a bill I will file a complaint with the Indiana AG.Customer Answer

On the back of every Kingdom Roofing Systems' contract are our Terms and Conditions. Under section #4 labeled: Cancellation, you will see plainly our Terms and Condition for cancellation. It outlines a 3-day ***** period where you can inform us of a change with no penalty. For cancellations after this period it states, at Kingdom's sole discretion (the Owner) may be charged Kingdoms profit for the Work as a cancellation fee. Our standard penalty for this cancellation is 25%. Legally, we could charge more. The reason for the fee is because when a contract is signed the Kingdom Team begins work on your project immediately. Whether that is working with your insurance provider, or confirming the measurements on your estimate, we begin the process of ensuring the quality of your remodel. It is imperative that we cover the hours we spend on a project and the 25% RCV fee allows us to cover that expense to the business.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
All I asked for was an estimate. That's is all I authorized your sales person didn't say I was signing a contract for you to do any work whatsoever. After I got the estimate I did not hear from you again nor did I hear from the insurance company in over a month that is until your sales person showed up at my door asking me if I got this documentation which I had not. I told your sales person that I was getting other estimates and he said sure go ahead. If I had signed a contract for you to do the work why was I told to get other estimates? Then started the harassment. I will not pay any cancellation fee period. You can do whatever you want but just so you know I am on disability is it really worth it? All I wanted from you was an estimate that's it your sales person said I needed to sign to authorize him to get on the roof to do it. I ask is that all and he said yes. I never said or told him that you were doing the repairs ever.

Estimates for insurance work are binding contracts. The contract you signed allowed us to begin work with your insurance company. That is not a free service. It allows us to document issues with your provider and then gives us permission to complete the work according to the provider's reporting. You may have thought you were signing something different but certainly you have all the information you need about your contract in the document provided for you. If you no longer want us to complete the work that is fine but we did work to get you insurance funds and those have been given to you as your provider has confirmed that to us the contracted company. We can part ways at this point, but we did work for you to get you funds for your claim.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I am not paying you any thing after your person was harassing me. After i repeatedly told him that I would get back with him in a few days. He wouldnt let me have a few days and even a few hours before he would be emailing me and asking the same thing. I even asked him why he was being so pushy about it. No, he wouldnt even leave it alone. So, I wont pay you for anything unless you are willing to pay me for the harassment that your person did.Initial Complaint

July 8th, 2024.They began tearing off siding on our house. They found damage to the corners of the front of our house and did a change order stating that they would tear out and replace damaged wood. They continued and finished siding our house. I later went into one of the rooms that was on the corner of our house and my floor collapsed, then i noticed that the back of my garage was wavey, and the metal they put around my side door was not right. We brought this to their attention and they are trying to say they are not responsible for my floor. My wife and I talked to the building commisioner of henry county and he stated that 1st off they did not pull a permit for the structural work, 2nd they were not registered with henry county to do work here, and 3rd once they did a change order stating they would fix the damaged wood they became responsible for the damage to the room where the floor is collapsing. They also did not put a sill plate on either side of the house where the damage was and the commisioner stated this was also a code violation. They are now ignoring our e-mails and requests for them to complete the repairs they caused to our house.Business Response

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We value your business and are sorry that there seems to be some confusion over your siding replacement. On July 8, 2024, Kingdom began work to complete our contracted work of replacing the siding at the home of ***********************. Per normal procedure, we pull permits to work in each county that requires it. We are including the permit signed by the inspector for this project. Kingdom has been in business for over a decade. We follow procedures and work with city inspectors regularly. As explained, when we opened up the side of this home we found extensive termite damage. The homeowners admitted through text messaging, which Kingdom has archived, that they were aware of the damage but did not disclose this information to Kingdom before signing a contract. The wood was far too damaged to adhere the new siding properly. In talking with our Project Manager, the homeowners requested we continue the work. Kingdom requested to have the ability to add support to the rotted wood sections to proceed. The homeowners agreed to and signed a change order allowing Kingdom to reinforce the rotted areas. Kingdom is aware of the wavy siding on the garage and has no problem returning to correct this issue. We also will inspect and correct the metal around the door. We can and will make those corrections. The flooring is another issue. Kingdom requested we bring a third-party pest inspector out to the home to understand if this damage was pre-existent because of their pest damage and the homeowners refused their entrance into the home. At this time we will not address the flooring issue because we worked on the side of the structure. We believe communication is vital during a remodel. Again, as stated before communication is documented within our system. Kingdom is continuing to work with this customer and will complete the final work we were contracted to complete.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: It is nothing but lies. They pulled a permit for siding, but did not pull a permit for the framing work to which our building commisioner brought to our attention. He also stated they did not allow his to inspect any of their work on this project. My lawyer, the building commissioner, and other contractors all have seen their change order to replace and repair the rotted wood and all have said the same. That they are responsible for the floor in my art room. The floor in my art room was perfectly fine just a day before they started their work and i have multiple witnesses to said fact. I had window installers in that room just days before who have stated that the corner of that room did not sag at all, nor move at all, and they are prepared to testify in court to said fact. The VA was on video call with me just days before they started their work and witnessed me in that very corner cleaning that room. They are lying about us wanting them to just cover up the damage or to proceed without fixing it.in fact their project manager reassured us that all the bad wood was replaced and our house was then structurally sound and that we would have no further problems. i am a 100% service connected veteran with severe heart failure. My wife is also on disability for major health problems and this is how they treat their customers?. We have been nothing but nice to this company only to have sarcastic responses and hatefulness thrown our way. They are unwilling to fix what by law they are responsible to fix, and like i said, if there is not a settlement reached soon for our repairs i will be taking this to henry county court with my lawyer who i have now had to retain just to try and get this matter resolved.Business Response

The last thing we want to do is battle with our customers. That doesnt serve either party well. To be clear we did not reframe your entire house. We added support to the areas where your boards have deteriorated so badly that we didnt have healthy enough space to install the new siding. We could not leave your home open and exposed to the elements. You did ask us to proceed. The signed change order permits us to continue with that part of the work. Just as you have sourced third parties for feedback, we were asking for the same respect. You chose not to allow that to happen. You have that right but we will not address any repairs outside of our contracted work until we have been allowed to have an inspection as well. The bad wood that affected our ability to install the siding was replaced and those areas are structurally sound. Again, we worked on the walls of your project. I do apologize that you believe our responses are sarcastic and hateful. I can assure you that is not our intention. That behavior would not serve us well as a company. We go above and beyond to support our troops and have even worked to give roofs away to veterans. We never said we would not take care of our issues. We are not flooring experts and therefore will not proceed with additional work until we can have an inspection. What we can assure you of at this time is that we will complete the work we were contracted to do.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: The third party they are speaking of is a pest control guy to which our lawyer informed us they were just trying to find any loop hole to get out of repairing the floor and walls. They were not in fact sending a flooring expert, they were sending a pest control person. The building commisioner has already stated you did not pull a second permit for the framing work you preformed which was to be inspected by him. The commissioner did an inspection in my art room and stated that my floor joist seem to be stable, there is just 2 of them in the corner that aren't attached to anything. I also add that another potential reason for this corner to be in such disarray is because the same boy who shot the other kid in the back with a nailgun is the one that worked on this corner. he called me over to inform that my water spicket was not attached. I informed him that my spicket was hooked up to pex, to which he just responded: oh. the building commissioner stated. If you had stopped when you seen the damage and informed us we needed to get framers to fix because you were not framers you would have been free from responsibility, but when you did your change order which included the word framing in it you became responsible for my floor, plus any framing work in henry county requires and additional permit of which you did not acquire, and you did not let any of his inspectors inspect your framing work. I will be getting other contractors to come give me estimates for this art room floor damage caused by your workers per my lawyer. If you refuse to do said work then my lawyer has stated we are to get another company to fix this and he will deduct the amount from the monies you are still owed. There is also utility room ceiling. You talk about doing free roofs for vets, but yet i can't even get you to do what i paid you to do to begin with.Initial Complaint

*****,
Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We take complaints about our organization very seriously and want to make sure we do everything we can to resolve your concerns. We do offer free estimates and inspections for all the jobs we review. We do our best to work with your insurance company to cover the costs of your damage. There are times when insurance providers provide quotes that don't fully cover the needs of the home. We really do put our best foot forward in trying to provide the proper documentation needed to get our customers the best coverage possible.
In your case, you filed your claim with the insurance over a year ago and had not completed the work. In the current market, prices of goods continue to climb to meet the demand on the market after Covid. The reason our Project Advisor offered you the option of supplementing the job was to give you the best shot of your insurance provider meeting the current market value of your homes needs. This is a standard process and our best option to help you with the financial burden a remodel comes with since that was your expressed concern.
In the ****************, we can charge a 25% fee for the Replacement Cost Value of your job because when you sign a contract with us, we begin working for you by working filing the proper paperwork with your insurance provider immediately. That is why you have been sent a bill for the fees after canceling your contract.
The terms and conditions of this agreement state that the owner will reimburse Kingdom for all labor and material expenses Kingdom incurs in the event that work cannot be performed due to circumstances outside of Kingdoms control. Your choice to pursue another contractor after signing a contract with us applies in this case. The agreement you signed is a legally binding contract and Kingdom is simply following the protocols outlined in the documentation you signed.
We value your business and are sorry that we did not meet your expectations on your roof replacement.

I am rejecting this response because:
I was scammed by this company using my insurance company stating if they got more money for the job I would need to go with them and they did not get the money needed to cover the gutters and therefore this needs to be void and I was never told it was binding but at the end on 11-11-22 I was told I had 3 days to cancel which I did in the proper time. Therefore I want this voided out or I will seek legal action. It seems after reading many reviews this is common practice for your company to use deceitful business practices .Business Response
Date: 11/29/2022
*****,
It is not fair to say that you were scammed by our company. We can not begin work for customers without a contract. We have to enter an agreement to work together. This is a standard process for any contractor. And of course, if we work with your provider to secure more funds then we would want to be able to complete the work after going to bat for you. That is a normal reward for the extra effort. Contractors cant work for free. While it is documented that you were in fact told the contract is binding, I want to make sure it is clear where you too can find this information as well. Attached you will find the contract that you signed. I would like you to review page 2 of the signed document. Please see section 4 for the cancellation notice. It shares how you can cancel your contract. Below is the excerpt.
4.CANCELLATION: You may cancel this Agreement at any time before midnight on the third business day or after you have received written notification from your insurance company that all or any part of the claim or contract is not a covered loss under the insurance policy. See attached Notice of Cancellation form explaining this right. You acknowledge that you were provided this form in duplicate by Kingdom. If Owner(s) cancellation request is not made in the time or manner described, Owner, at Kingdoms sole discretion, may be charged Kingdoms profit for the Work as a cancellation fee.
Your cancellation for your contract for 10/25/22 wasnt submitted until 11/14/22 and therefore is subject to cancellation fees.
We have the email on file where this was also explained to you by our VP of Sales. To be clear, our work resulted in your provider adding $995.87 in additional funds that could be used toward your remodel. There was work done on your behalf and the cancellation fee directly reflects that work we provided for you but were unable to complete the work from.
We did not hide this process from you. You have a copy of this paperwork and had the instructions in hand since 10/25/22. Your contract is a legally binding contract and therefore cant be voided. You may proceed with legal action if you feel that is your best recourse but again, you have the signed document for which you agreed and our cancellation fee is within the legal limits in the ****************. We were not in any way hiding this information or being deceitful. We value your business and are sorry that we did not meet your expectations on your roof replacement.

******************** is not a formal customer of ********************. A little over a year ago we did work for his neighbor. The proximity of both houses roof lines is extremely close. I am attaching a photo for reference. When tearing off the roofing from our customers second story debris did make it onto Mr. ********* roof. Our team did make their way onto the second roof simply to remove the debris. Due to the inconvenience, our Project Manager documented that we did repairs on Mr. ********* roof at no cost because he had concerns that we may have damaged his roof. On 9/9/21, ******************** signed a document stating that he had agreed to our repairs at no cost to him and that these would resolve his issue.
Now a year later, ******************** has reached back out with new concerns. Even reporting that we left shingles on his roof. We did send a Field Technician out to inspect the home. ******************** was not home but we found no shingles. Mr. ********* roof is not in great condition but it is not due to falling debris but the age of the product. We have expressed that we are sorry he is experiencing issues but with the time-lapse, we cant identify that there is any damage from our work. We have asked for copies of the police report and the video footage he has stated that he has but he has not shared those with our office. Per his desired settlement, we will no longer contact him. We believe this issue is resolved to the best of our abilities at this time.Initial Complaint

Once I signed the contract, I was completely ignored. I reached out at the end of August to get an update on installation of agreed contract, ignored until I left a nasty voicemail. The first phase of a three part job was to be implemented by the end of August, wasnt. Once I reached out I was treated as I was a bother. But then was told the first job ( the roof) would be installed week of September 5th. The *** boards where delivered on September 3rd soaked by rain and unwrapped. Then, the roof was installed on September 6th and looks like crap! Cheap, horrible material and installation, ugliest roof Ive ever seen. Plus, The roof installers damaged my furnace exhaust vent, vent boot and disconnected the vent inside. The roof installers kicked in and damaged one of my soffits. The Roof installers damaged the side of my house (house-siding) while adding a small porch overhang. Phase two installing partial siding has now been delayed over 4-6 weeks. I have an exposed soffit, openings into my house walls on two sides allowing wild animals access. Company will not address. Kingdom is estimating 4-6 weeks to finish phase two and phase three to correct which could be longer. The delay will continue allowing wild varmints into my home and allow winter weather to allow damage and heating issues. I have requested three times an insurance form completed and returned for documentation to my insurance company for a homeowners discount, ignored. I along with neighbor have yard damaged due to work trucks, company has ignored. Company personnel is RUDE, HATEFUL, DEFENSIVE AND NASTY!Business Response

We are sorry your experience with Kingdom Roofing has not been what you expected. As a Kingdom customer, we track our interactions with you. Our database dates and time stamps each interaction with notes of what was said and committed. Below, I have built the timeline for you of our interactions.
On 7/29/22, the Salesman notes that all the paperwork is complete so we can begin the process of verifying your jobs and preparing the paperwork to order the materials for your remodel.
That same day our Sales Support Manager reached out to you with a phone call.
On 8/3/22, we received your down payment. There is a recorded phone call with you and the Salesman recognizing this payment. And then on 8/5/22 the additional piece of your down payment arrived.
By 8/11/22 Kingdom had received word from the suppliers that your products were in stock and they would begin preparation for material delivery. The next day you received a voicemail and email letting you know that we were preparing for your installation and offered you additional tips to prepare your home for the remodel.
On 8/12/22, ****** called the office saying she saw we were trying to get ahold of her and we confirmed she would have a voicemail and email from us with additional information about her install.
On 8/14/22 ****** responded with an email letting us know the best way to communicate with her is through texting or email.
8/24/22 ****** sent an email requesting an update on her project.
Two days after this email, she left a voicemail that was 2 minutes + long explaining how unprofessional it was that no one had responded to her. A response was sent to her that evening letting her know that we didnt have a date for the materials yet, but would get back to her with an update.
She responded again the next day still explaining that she should not have to wait on a response and she was sent a text message letting her know that the next round of scheduling would happen on Monday and we would share more information then.
On 8/29/22 ****** was sent a text message letting her know that installation would occur in 2-3 weeks as long the weather cooperates. She responded that the timeframe was ridiculous and felt she needed a refund because Kingdom couldnt complete the project.
Working with the Salesman we bumped up production for ****** beginning the work on 9/7/22. The Salesman called her to confirm and she confirmed this time with our Customer Experience Manager.
Seeing from this timeline it seems that ****************** ignored. While there has been a delay in Kingdoms production turnaround time as it is our busy season and we have experienced delays from manufacturers, ****** did have communication from Kingdom throughout the process. The timelines we offer customers are estimates only as we cant control supplies and the weather. We do try our best to explain this upfront and that is also disclosed within our contract terms and conditions.
We do have documented that it was raining when the materials for the job were dropped. The Salesman lived close so he came and tarped the materials as a courtesy. We took pictures and documented that 3 of the 19 OSB boards were wet and were not used on her project. This was executed as a courtesy to help satisfy the customer, yet is unnecessary due to the glue used to bind OSB. The furnace exhaust was damaged during the installation and a licensed HVAC company was brought out to make a repair. Kingdom paid for the repair at our own expense. We also have documented that a piece of soffit did come loose during the install. Our guys went to the local hardware store to try and fix it that day but the store didnt have the supplies. We have noted that we need to return to secure that area which will be done before the next phase of the installation. It is not that we wont address it, it was that we could not on that day. Our estimate of 4-6 weeks stands to finish the next phase. If we are able to get to the work sooner we will but we wanted to be fair with our estimates because of our interactions with ****** we did not want to overpromise.
****** has now made it clear that our Salesman is no longer allowed on her property. We will abide by her request but this certainly doesnt help us complete the job in a timely manner. Also, we do have the insurance form. It clearly states that we are to issue it to the homeowner and the insurance company once the work is completed and we have been paid. We arent finished with the project yet so we will not be sending this until the proper time. We will issue a copy to ****** and to her insurance company as is our policy.
We will be completing the work as requested by the homeowner on this complaint. We intend to finish the job and complete all phases as we were contracted to do. We believe we have been attentive to her requests, gone above and beyond, and are actively working on some of the issues currently as the job is not complete yet.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I was completely ignored and only given communication when I demanded a response. I was told by the salesman my roof would be completed by the end of August then simultaneously after, siding and gutters. I would never have signed with Kingdom if this job was going to be a four plus month project! That was not the agreement. There was never any communication there would be delays! Kingdom dies this because they can once you are under contract.
Varmits and wild animals have continue access to my attic and interior walls of home. Kingdom is allowing this to happen by not fixing the damage they caused along with doing partial work unfinished and purposely delayed. The damage is a direct result of Kingdom roofing. This needs fixed and repaired ASAP. The roof ******* on the job should have been aware and made me, the home owner, aware of damages to my home during roof installation but chose to hide the damage from me. The roof is also not done properly in several areas. This needs corrected and done properly.
Damage to my Soffits, damage to the side of my home (separating my siding from my house) and damage to an area front corner of home. ALL needs addressed and fixed ASAP.
Kingdom Roofing salesman has lied and taken advantage of a single female homeowner. Correct, the salesman is not allowed on my premises nor has ANY reason to be on my property. But, he did contact me Tuesday, September 20th after being instructed not too!

Kingdom Roofing Systems received notice at 12:08 pm on 9/23/22 from the BBB of this response, however, Kingdom had already sent out a Tech that morning and completed the repair to her soffit ensuring no varmints had access to the home. This is exactly what we said we would do in the first response.
Also, your communications are public record so we can show the documentation of all of our correspondence at any time if you would like to visit our offices. You are not being ignored and our records prove that. Even the responses to your BBB complaint prove that.

I am rejecting this response because:
The roof looks horrible, see attached photo. You chose to ignore this previous complaint. *** walked my neighborhood and no other house has this extra flap of shingles thrown on their home. This is not correct or professional. I stand by my comments its ugly and cheap and was not put on correctly around the different roof angles.Varmits still have access from the partial work started by Kingdom and additional damage that was a result of Kingdoms horrible work performance. See attached photos. Kingdoms continued delay allows the possibility of additional damage to home via animals or weather. Plus this is not energy efficient. Repairing the soffit today, September 23rd was only one small part of ALL the continued issues and damage.
I disagree me refusing contact from a salesman who lied, hindering the work. I have an assigned Project Coordinator. They arrange all work, not the salesman. And, this is the third assigned coordinator as **** either quit or was fired. The second, the *** of the company per salesman, was the one who I had to contact TWICE for an update. So yes, she ignored updating me timely or professionally. Now, I have a third Project Coordinator.
Kingdom Roofing continues being a horrible experience. I stand firmly the company is unprofessional and produces horrible work and takes advantage of single women! I believe a man would not be treated this way. I had to show Kingdom the soffit damage. The job foremans workers did NOT inform me of the damage or any remedy. Just as I have to keep reminding Kingdom of the additional damages With no remedy.
Kingdom ignored the complaint of doing yard damage to my neighbors yard along with my yard.
Issues after issues with Kingdom. Kingdom needs to finish the siding and all damaged areas ASAP. And Kingdom needs to correct where the shingles where just thrown on the roof and are installed incorrectly, unprofessional.
