I purchased a puppy for my daughter, ***************************, in June 2022. The puppy had diarrhea so we took it to their vet (****************************). They gave us antibiotics and for her. A couple weeks later, the puppy had diarrhea and we took her to my vet. She was treated with meds again. The puppy has had diarrhea with blood and mucus in her stools off and on since we purchased her. We have spent hundreds taking her to the vet for this problem. A couple weeks ago, same thing, diarrhea, ****** stools, and mucous. My vet determined she had a bacterial infection (clostridium) and prescribed meds. We gave her for the antibiotics for 10 days and she still had diarrhea. I took her to my vet again today, After a thorough evaluation of her they discovered she has Giardia (intestinal parasites) in which she had all along and its difficult to cure. I called Happiness is Pets, and they called their vet (**************************** where we initially took her). Happiness is Pets claimed that they treated her and advised us to bring her back for a follow-up in a week. That was a lie. They never told us to bring her back. As a matter of fact, the vet examined her and never came back in the room which was odd. Happiness is Pets said they gave a 30 period in which the pet can be treated so thats it. We spent $2900 for the puppy. She had Giardia all along. Happiness is Pets is the most disgusting, vile business Ive ever seen. They bear no responsibility for the pets they sell. To be honest, it should be criminal to sell sick petsperiod! Ive never seen anything like this. They are totally irresponsible for their business, pets, and customers!!! Quite disgusting.

      Business Response

I am sorry to hear that ******************** is unsatisfied with the purchase of her puppy.  Puppies, just like humans, can become ill and this why we give 30 days of free veterinary care for every puppy that leaves our store.  The warranty that we offer for our puppies is the most extensive warranty in the pet industry.  The very last thing we ever want to see a customer do is pay for veterinary expenses when it is already covered under the terms of our warranty.  Please see the attached copy of the fully executed warranty for ************************ purchase.  All of this being said, in an effort to remedy this situation for ********************, if she can supply documentation showing that her puppy has had this issue since the time of purchase, I will happily reimburse her for the cost of medications that she paid for at the veterinary clinic that is outside of our network of approved clinics.

      Thank you,

      *************; *******

I am rejecting this response because: This business owner is totally irresponsible. He offered to pay for medications from the vet, but what he should be doing is covering the vet bills! I have documentation to show where the puppy has had numerous ***** exams since we purchased her, including paperwork from the visit to the owners vet. Shes had problems with her stomach since we purchased her. Their vet treated her for her stomach during their so called warranty period and the problem was NOT resolved. The puppy is still on medication. My vet said the parasite is difficult to irradiate. The owners response makes no sense.

      Business Response

I believe our offer to be beyond fair and in good-faith.  Our warranty clearly stipulates "Happiness Is Pets will not pay for any veterinary care, for any reason whatsoever, other than at a Happiness Is Pets approved clinic.  Should you, for whatever reason, decide to use the services of a veterinary clinic other than an approved Happiness Is Pets clinic, you do so at your own expense."  This was initialed and signed by ************* (please see attached).  I would like to point out that this is not fine print either, this is in bold typeface in at attempt for customers to completely understand the warranty policy.

In event to further remedy this, if veterinary records are submitted showing **************' puppy was diagnosed with a bacterial infection and parasites within the first 30 days from purchase, Happiness Is Pets will reimburse her medical bills for the cost of diagnosis and associated treatment to date. This offer does not include routine vaccinations or costs unrelated to the issues stated above.

      Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:

The businesss vet failed to diagnose the puppy. It took a Giardia Antigen to discover she has Giardia. Your vet didnt test for it. It has continued to be a problem from purchase until now. This is an irresponsible business owner. It isnt about money. Its the principle thats troubling.
