The loan company was initially requesting a copy of my insurance which is standard. I was unable to provide them a copy of the insurance I already had within time so they added $5,352 on to my loan as an insurance premium. I was able to get them the required copy of my insurance they needed in order to be refunded the extra $5,352 they added on to my loan. They only refunded me $3,989 which is okay. Now they are telling me the insurance I have sent them is no longer up to their standards after they told me it was fine and issued me a refund. They now want to add an almost $6,500 premium onto my loan after they specifically told me that my insurance was fine and there would no longer be any issues. 2 representatives from the collection department told me I would be fine and no further action would be needed from any parties and no further alterations to my loan would be done. I feel as if they are trying to take advantage of me and my finances. When they initially added the premium, my payments more than doubled. I was able to upload all of the supporting documents I have but one. Please reach out to me so I can send the missing document.Business Response

I tried to resolve an issue where communitywide federal credit union placed a 30 day late payment on my credit bureau over $14. When the issue was reported to the credit agencies it looks like I missed a payment of $428.00. I wanted them to remove the late payment of my bureau because it is not accurate. I have never missed a payment with this bank since 2020. The late payment is extremely misleading and created a financial impact. TBusiness Response

I have insurance for my vehicle that has been purchased i supplied my insurance to community wide they had issues with it... i corrected it they approved Since then im still getting mail about they are going to hit me with a$5000 bill for insurance and i received my first bill of $427 after i told them that i have insurance and they approved it and i was told its taken care of that i dont have to worrie about it... by it i mean this extra insurance that i didnt sign up for nor did i agree Contract said if i supply insurance then i dont have to use the insurance of community wide... I did my part i have shown insurance...So why cant community wide do their part ?Business Response

In response to complaint #********, we have contacted the member and gone over the required documentation that we will need to be able to refund the premium that was added to the loan. We have since received the necessary documentation and verified the insurance coverage. The premium that was added will be refunded within the next 1 or two weeks due to this. We have contacted the member and notified him of this and believe the complaint to be resolved. 11/14/2022 I purchased a vehicle from ************************************** the Finance manager **** got me this bank I found out they charged me a 199. Loan Processing fee when I called to find out what this was I was told everything and anything! Even that it's a Doc fee from dealership. On my truth in lending I agreed to ********* to be Financed not *********Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I spoke to Mr.***, his only resolution he offered was to refinance the loan or pay off in full both are unacceptable!! This "prepaid finance charge " is not something I would have accepted with a 800+ credit score! Now the interest rates are higher so it doesn't make sense.Business Response

Community wide charged me a forced insurance fee for over $500. After I discovered it I did everything that was asked of me including providing copies from my insurance company that there was no lapse in coverage ever. My insurance company even personally called them. They refused to refund me my money and now will not even respond to me.Business Response

I was charged an unnecessary "Loan Processing Fee" of $199.00 on top of the $19,800 total loan amount. Loan processing fees are no longer charged by the vast majority of banks as banks make their money off the interest of the loan. This $199.00 charge is deceptively placed in the paperwork to make it appear the total financed amount is only $19,800 which includes any fees, but the true cost of the loan is $19,999.00 plus interest. Please wave the $199.00 "Loan Processing Fee" as this is an unnecessary and out dated fee.Business Response

In response to complaint #********, the mentioned processing fee is a fee that is fully disclosed on all retail installment contracts. This is shown under the itemization of the amount financed section as a prepaid finance charge to CommunityWide Federal Credit Union. It is also included in the total finance charge on the first page of the contract. This processing fee is a very common charge in the indirect lending environment and used to cover the cost of the transition of the loan from the time of application at the dealership to funding at the financial institution. Due to the disclosure of the fee on the signed contract the fee will remain on the loan and can not be refunded. We can send any requested documents or the signed contract to the consumer for review if needed.
