This apartment community and the new management company, ********, have been neglectful to their residents at their “luxury community”. This complaint specifically is regarding an instance that happened Sunday, August 28th. I was woken up by what sounding like tapping on my window at about 5AM and after investigating realized it was massive sparks coming from one of the A/C units located outside my apartment room window while it was raining pretty heavily. After not being able to contact emergency maintenance, which is not the first time this has happened, I called fire department dispatch and they fortunately were able to come out and inspect it. After investigation they realized there were exposed wires on the top of the a/c unit that were sparking heavily after getting wet from the rain. The fire department disconnected the fuse for the time being. After not hearing back from maintenance I tried leaving another message on the ER line at 10:45AM and still did not receive a response. I tried calling after they opened at 12PM twice and was unable to reach them directly so I went up to the office where the leasing agent, Sherif, was eating yogurt, not busy at his desk. He had failed to listen to the emergency messages, which he listened to the first time in front of me and simply said I could go home and he would contact maintenance to come out but STILL at 7:30pm at night they have still failed to check out the problem. This is a MAJOR fire hazard and they are putting an entire building of residents at risk by not taking care of the problem or giving direct access to emergency maintenance. The first instance not being able to get ahold of ER maintenance was a few months ago when our entire apartment flooded. They do not care about the residents at Lexington Farms and there is some serious neglect going on that will ultimately lead to something very bad happening. This business and their employees need help accountable.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/06/2022

Maintenance responded that day and inspected the AC unit.  The status upon inspection yielded no fire hazard at that time.  The staff contacted our contractor to schedule replacement of the AC unit.

On the day in questions, other emergency calls were received and responded to by on-call maintenance staff.  It is unclear and under review why the calls the complainant made didn’t get to the live agent answering service, while others did.
