    I hired College Hunks Moving company to move 7.9 miles. Total cost I paid $1731, including $149 insurance for *** for any damage. I was moving from 3 bdr to a 2 bdr, with most of the furnishings going into a ground level basement for storage. During the estimate I clearly explained and ask if everything would be wrapped in plastic so it could go straight into storage fully protected, and they estimator said it would. That was not the case things were only wrapped partially with blankets which movers removed when placed in storage. I picked this company over lower priced movers because I was told everything would be wrapped and protected, that was false advertising. Then on moving day 10 pieces of furniture where damaged, and 3 sculptures clearly marked on 5 sides on the boxes were destroyed. One wall of the home I was selling was damaged to the point that I had to repair before the sale of the home could move forward. They damaged the door to the rental that I was staying in which I had to pay to have repaired. I contacted them to file a claim against the insurance I paid for and a **** ****** ******************** said he would come out to inspect the damage and has been saying that over the last few weeks and has yet to come out. I believe the insurance policy they sold me is a complete scam and I would like the $149 cost of that policy returned to me. 2 of the men were having a competition to see who could carry the most boxes and instead of using a hand truck they were carrying 3 to 4 stacked boxed and dropping them on the ground. I saw them this and drop boxes clearly marked as fragile. They did not seem to know what they were doing did not use appropriate tools. They did not seem to be able to follow direction. I had to keep communicating how to place the things in storage and they underestimated the size of truck needed and a whole set of outdoor furniture and 1 other piece had to be left, to hire another truck for.

    Wanted to follow up. I was finally contacted by the manager of the company, they came out, inspected the damage and honored the insurance claim.  I am satisfied with the resolution.

    Transaction 6/1/2023; Moving home + storage unit from Lenexa, KS to Shawnee, KS.

    College Hunks sent a lead mover out before the move to take note of items within the house and storage unit. I appreciated the level of detail he noted and documenting which items were to be included. He estimated 5 movers and 2 trucks to take 6-8 hours for a fee of $3000.

    On the day of the move, 2/5 of the movers were extremely helpful, professional, and polite. The other three movers spent most of the day standing around, pointing, complaining about how many items were on the truck, and how hot it was. I have pictures of movers sitting on my furniture within the truck or within my home at various points throughout the day playing on their phones.

    Because they were moving so slow, the lead told me at the end of the 8 hour mark they'd need to extend the end time from 5pm to 8pm, resulting in an additional 1K charge. At this point, we were so ready to get them off of our property that we all started chipping away at what was left on the truck.

    They damaged dozens of pieces of furniture, some antique. Deep scratches on just about everything that I own. They stacked heavy boxes on top of boxes clearly marked fragile, resulting in broken china and glassware.

    I did not tip on a 4K bill taking 11 hours, when the job should have easily been completed in 6-8 hours. The lead seemed disappointed about the lack of tip. I called the franchise owner to attempt to settle up and at least give a tip to the 2/5 movers that were actually working - it's not their fault the other three were standing around - and the manager just said "I'll take care of it."

    As far as damage - I reported this to the company and was simply told that "Remember, you signed a waiver for .60 per pound. Send us pictures and we'll file a claim."

    I sent dozens of pictures of damage and have not received a response. I did not receive a claim number, either, but the owner I've been in contact with is *********************
