      Extremely Disappointed. Misled into Genetic Testing and Charged Without Consent
      I’m writing this to warn others about a very deceptive experience I had at Diagnostic Imaging Centers Mammography. During my visit, a representative affiliated with a company called Halo (or something similar) approached me about a “free” genetic test. I was told very clearly and confidently that I would not be charged, and I was encouraged to spit into a tube and sign a few forms, assured it was routine and no cost would be involved.
      Fast forward a few months later: I received a bill for $250, without ever being contacted, and without even receiving the test results. I never would have agreed to this had I known there would be a charge.
      What’s worse is that Diagnostic Imaging Centers allowed this to happen on their premises, giving the impression that it was part of their service or a trusted partnership. Both Diagnostic Imaging and Halo are responsible for this. Patients trust medical offices to operate ethically, and that trust was absolutely violated here.
      I feel completely taken advantage of—especially since this happened in a healthcare setting where honesty and transparency should be non-negotiable. Be very cautious about signing anything or engaging with third parties at this facility. I hope others don’t fall for the same scheme.
