      The customer service for Ogden Publications at the 800 number is disastrously horrible- not helpful at all. I renewed a Mother Earth News magazine subscription with them and was told that the person I gifted the subscription to should have the first issue by October 10. It was never received. I called them and was told by a rude person that it was on a Mail hold for what reason he had no idea. He released the hold but had no idea when it would be delivered. I called customer service again today and was rudely told by ***** there that it was sent out - she did not know when nor when it would be delivered. It sounded more like it was more painful for the employees of Ogden Publications to be helpful and do their jobs than to be obnoxious and rude. It is unfortunate that one can only obtain Mother Earth magazines through this entity. I believe that this will be the last subscription from me unless they reorganize their customer service department to a more positive experience.

      We appreciate you pointing out the concern. In reviewing the gift subscription in question, it appears what prompted your gift not arriving was a suspension of the subscription due to issues being returned to us in the mail. Evidently, the person receiving the gift subscription moved or was moved to another prison? Rather than continuing to send the magazine to a wrong address, we put subscriptions on suspend so the number of issue due the recipient can be reinstated once the new/correct address is available. We corrected the address a couple of months ago, but hadn't lifted the suspension until your call on October 15th. That was a mistake on our part, which we are deeply sorry about. Upon that phone call though, we restarted the subscription and mailed a copy of the current issue to your gift recipient that day. When you called back on the 18th and spoke with *****, the notes of that call indicate she tried to relay all of this to you, but we weren't for certain when the issue would arrive to you gift recipient. There are two factors here that we just don't have control over - one, the delivery speed of the post office, and two, the censoring and delivery of issues within the prison system. ***** indicated that she confirmed the prisoner number was in the correct spot within the address line and to the best of our knowledge, the magazines should be making it to their location. I'm hopeful as of this writing, that issue has arrived and been delivered, but again, there are a couple of factors at play here that may have slowed that down. It has been less than a week since we mailed that first issue so it might still be hung up in the system. Please let us know if it doesn't arrive so we can try a different address. Thank you.

      They hit my credit card for Mother Earth News subscription renewal but I haven't received the publication in months due to a move (also the email on file may not be valid but I have no way to access the account). Email promptly sent (and two follow-ups) but no action has been taken. Next step will be to dispute with credit card company and spread the word regarding the lack of customer service.

      They are trying to charge my bank account for an order already received and paid for 6 months ago. I can't find out how to contact them to complain.

      This charge was for an automatic renewal of Grit magazine. When you order online at the lower rate, there is a statement that you are signing up for the continuous renewal program. You may cancel this program at any time. We would have sent you an email reminder about a month prior to the automatic renewal. You originally ordered this in Sept 2021, and your subscription will be expiring with the Sept/Oct issue. We are renewing it now so that there is not a lapse and you will not miss an issue.

      I also see that your ***************** will be automatically renewing very soon, too.
