      I have been a Loyal customer for many years! I have always purchased a yearly membership. I recently bought what I though was a month of tanning. I was charged for an additional month that I was not able to use. Make sure to ask for a copy of anything you sign, as the employees do not do a great job of explaining this. They typically rush you through and say sign here. I didn't think I would be charged $90.00 for three days of tanning.
      This is theft! I am extremely disappointed this is how I was treated after being with Sun Tan City for over 10 Years. Maybe even 20.
      I will spend a lot of time making sure everyone knows these poor business tactics of robbing their customers.

      Beware! Had a shared credit card with girlfriend. I tried to stop auto pay they will not stop auto withdrawal even though I've requested. I've even got new card number and they keep charging me. I called local office and headquarters with no luck

      Very unfortunate experiences over and over. The client service management Supervisor Quinn, would not give me information on filing formal complaint. Last year I paid upfront for a tanning membership, and the location closest to me discontinued the tan. I had 6 months left and had to drive to another location when I could. I refused to renew my membership due to this on April 4, 2024. My husband decided to "surprise" my for mothers day with a paid membership for the year no knowing the details on May 10/11, 2024. They charged him twice and are still trying to process the refund. They will take money! But the refund is nothing but issue after issue. Not only have prices increased a lot, customer service is horrible. And I want to file a formal complaint but Quinn and several others will not provide any source to do so. I am angry, and tired of not being refunded and not being listened to. No one should be allowed to run a business in such a neglectful and unorganized manner. I live in MN, and they are not allowed to handle refunds. Only the KY site.

We can see that you were contacted yesterday regarding the refund to obtain updated CC information to be able to process the additional $186.62 your husband paid to upgrade the Fast yearly membership purchased on 5/11/24 in total of $212.18. The $212.18 refund was successful, but we are still in need of payment information to return the $186.62. When you were contacted by a customer service supervisor yesterday to be able to assist further with this matter, you were informed of the many different ways to file a formal complaint, one being through the supervisor you were speaking with. Per your request, we will no longer be reaching out to you for the information needed regarding your refund, but in place your husband, as you have provided his contact information.

      Absolutely crazy the store wil turn customers away if they wanna pay with cash. Was gonna drop $50 and they turned me away nothing on the outside of the building says that they don’t accept cash. so not only did they waste my time they wasted my gas driving up here.

      If I could give negative stars I would.
      So I had a problem with Sun Tan City last year. I kept getting charged even when I wasn’t tanning. They basically make you purchase 2 months of tanning. I chalked it up to not reading the terms and conditions throughly. Moved on.

      This year, as a gift, I was given a $60 gift card to Sun Tan City. I went to the location to purchase 1 month membership with the gift card. I just wanted the lowest tanning for the month. Which they said was $19.99 a month. They said I would have to put a card on file even though I only wanted to use my gift card due to what happened in the past. They basically told me I couldn’t do a membership without a card on file. Okay, fine. I then asked about packages instead. I learned about the Tour of the City which was a package for $23.38 that offered 4 tanning sessions with different level beds. I attempted to purchase that package. The high school employees couldn’t figure out how to purchase a package with a gift card. After about 10 minutes of trying to figure out the problem, the “manager” says “ I give up, I’m going to tan” and did exactly that. Later I was able to make the purchase online with the gift card and used all my tans.

      I go back yesterday to use my remaining $40 on my gift card. I tried to get lotion. They were doing a sale for 50% off and yesterday was the last day. When I tried to buy 2 bottles at $15 each. I was told my gift card was redeemed earlier that month and there was a $0.00 balance. I then asked why I would have been given a gift card of exactly the price of the Tour of the City? My card had a $0.00 balance. No change was left behind? The employee was not able to figure it out and gave me the customer service number. I tried to call but no one answered.

      Bottom line is Sun Tan City is TRASH.

      Should be called sun tan thieves!
      I signed up feb 16. I bought the 90 a month membership. They charged me 45 dollars, instead of 90. I did this online, so at this time I thought it was for a half month. We tried to prepay for March in store because this is a prepay, and it loads 100 on the 15th of every month. They said we could not do that. First of the month comes, we tried to change cards, nothing worked, and I added my bank account to take it out, but it would not take it out. So figured starting in April I would give this another go, and would not have any issues. Yesterday I noticed they took 90 from my credit card. I sent an email and they said I signed something that said they could do this. I asked for 45 back at first, and was told I signed something that said they can rob me I guess. (I did this online, so I signed nothing) that upset me, so now I want my 90 back and they said they can’t do that either. So now all I want is for them to cancel this account, and delete my cards from their website so they don’t rob me again. This has not been done yet. This is all I want. Just delete my credit cards so they cannot do this again.
      For the record, I also sent them a pretty nasty email saying the same exact thing, just used spicer language.(after about 4-5 emails back and forth)
      Be very careful with this company. Nothing but thieves. Will never give them another cent in my life, all over 45 dollars. On the other hand, they did save me 1000 bucks a year, because that’s what we were gonna spend, and since they are the only tanning place in our city, my wife is going to use the sun when it gets a little nicer. So thank you for that!

      I see why they have a lot of complaints! They ran a special for $18 for a month package, they charged me $24.28 for a WEEK! then refused to give me my money back, using excuses. I contacted them right away when the receipt didn't show the expire dates. I'm not a young girl going to fall for their BS they need to be shut down!!

      I purchased a one month membership in February after speaking with the employee and letting her know I was only interested in tanning 4-5 times prior to a vacation. The last time that I went in to tan on 2/18/24, I let the know I wanted to cancel my membership. I was still charged again on 3/4. I called and was told that I had to pay for a full months membership because Feb had been pro-rated. I would not have purchased a membership in the first place if I had been informed this upon my initial visit to the salon which I was not and definitely should have been informed since I clearly stated I was only interested in short term use. This business feels like they are scamming people into paying hundreds of dollars for memberships they do not want.

      I had a six month membership, and they get you with the fine print about how it will continue on if you don't go in and cancel. That is such BS, If I wanted a month to month membership I would have signed up for one. They owe me 5 months of a membership I never used. I will never use them again. Terrible way to treat a customer. Then when I said I want to cancel I get an offer from the person I'm talking to about extending my membership !! What?!!? I want my money back and they offer for me to continue to pay.....

      For the second year in a row, I requested my account to be frozen online. The account was not frozen & money continued to be withdrawn from my account. I did not notice it last year until a full 11 months went by. I luckily noticed it this year after just 2 months but by now, they have gotten hundreds of dollars from me because their website isn’t freezing the accounts online. I was refused a refund & when I called on January 2 to cancel the payment that comes out the 3, I was told they can’t refund the payment or stop it from processing but they can freeze my account starting next month. Hundreds of dollars they have made off of me now.

This was after our draft process had already started, as our payments process on the first of every month. Any and all membership adjustments must be completed prior to the 1st. Since we do not have an attempted freeze through your log in history prior to January 1st, we are more than happy to provide you with an extension when you unfreeze your account and resume tanning with us!
