      During my visit to Valvoline Instant Oil Change I was told I had an oil leak. The associate said that it was a gasket issue and they could not fix it at their store. I took my 2020 Kia to the dealership and they found that a bolt was overtightened and damaged the oil pan and it would cost $500 to fix. Upon calling the Valvoline Customer Service department and getting the runaround the associate wanted to inspect the vehicle and bring it to a side shop they have to fix cars. I told him this was unacceptable and i would prefer to use certified Kia parts and technician. Since then, no answer from the associate *****" when I call him.

      Went to get oil change today on 1/23/24 I was there for over a hour and a half to get a oil change they drained the oil then I was waiting they came up and said the drain plug was missing threads and the oil Pan and plug needed to be replaced they said that the dealer that changed it last did it I called the dealer they said they couldn’t have or it would of been leaking I had no leaks the dealer stated that Valvoline instant oil would of done it it was either cross threaded or they tightened it to much this is going to be a expensive repair I took a photo of the plug asked to have it Valvoline asst.manager said they shot it in the garage on the receipt it said the drain plug was good then they said it was bad please help nervous to drive car now they said that there was no charge for the oil Thank you Paul invoice # ******

      We paid Valvoline for a routine oil change, but they failed to put oil in our vehicle, resulting in the engine being destroyed. They have accepted liability for this, but their insurance has failed to produce an acceptable offer of compensation. They have included no comparable vehicles in their market research data (that we can verify) and thus have offered an amount to replace our vehicle that is well under the amount that it would take to replace it. Additionally, they have not offered to pay for other expenses incurred as a result of this error, including taxes for a new vehicle, the mechanic costs, or even a refund for the supposed oil change.

With the information provided our records show the area manager of the location Nate called our Customer Care department to start a claim and investigation process on 10/30/2023. On 10/30/2023 the area manager Nate called our Customer Care department back to speak with the guest on a recorded line however, when we called the guest (****** she declined to speak with the area manager over the phone and stated she wanted everything done through written communication/her advocate. With our claim process, we are required to speak with the guest over the phone to get details on what is going but since the guest declined assistance there is nothing further we can do. To further communicate on this claim and the investigation the guest must call our Customer Care team at ************, reference her claim # *********, and we would be happy to get the guest in contact with management.

      I am rejecting this response because requiring a wronged customer without formal legal representation present to speak to Valvoline (a large corporation backed by legal entities) on a recorded phone line seems like a way for Valvoline to guarantee they protect themselves, rather than a sincere attempt for a morally-astute company to make restitution. I am not in the interest of protecting Valvoline, but doing what I can to resolve my family's current transportation problems (caused by Valvoline's negligence).

      I am rejecting this response because: 

      We were willing to talk to the business over email (why the policy should require a phone conversation, rather than email, which would have provided a written record for both parties, is beyond us) or on the phone with our mediator (through the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, however, Valvoline did not indicate that they were willing to speak to us with our mediator. Rather, when contacted on our behalf by our mediator, they bypassed him to talk to us directly. Again, we would have been happy to speak to them, had they been willing to do so with our mediator. 

      We are aware this case is still open, as we have been working toward a resolution since our car's engine was destroyed in October.

      We are also quite aware of the function of the BBB.

      I have a 2011 Buick Enclave very well kept. And I had an oil change Nov 15, 2023 & on Dec 23, 2024 my vehicle shut down. My odometer read 219219 upon having it towed to ********* ******** (Who has been doing all the work to my vehicle, since own). I also had got proof/invoice from ********* ******** stating that, that is the reason for my engine shutting down…is due to lack of oil. And was told by ******** at Valvoline that I would Need that in order for them to reopen my claim. I’ve reached out to Valvoline to resolve this & I Got Nothing. So, I gathered all invoice from oil change Jan 2022 til Nov 2023 & it’s not making since. 4,909 miles is the least I a driven my vehicle needing an oil change.

      3) I got hurt at work (no ride) had to go to doctor 3x’s
      4) doctor apt
      5) Etc. I can go on & on
      I’m not saving. I lost my Auntie the same day my vehicle stopped. No way to funeral. I had a Rental for about a week. Now back to trying to continue to pay the way. To much for 1 month. Now I’m focused & ready to proceed. Will discuss more directly. (Very unprofessional)

With the information provided, we did locate a claim and our management team stated the service was reviewed via DVR and per the footage the oil change was performed per the manufacturer's specifications, and the oil level on the dipstick was shown to the guest after the service was completed showing the oil level was full. The claim has been denied by our management team and we do honor what our management team states, so we're no longer able to further assist. The guest has been advised if we're provided paperwork from a certified mechanic stating the issue was directly caused by the oil change we can then further assist.       In July 2023, I went to this location and they did not change my oil filter during my oil change service! I created a claim upon discovery after my engine started to knock and oil had been leaking from my vehicle. The store manager handles the claims filed and she has denied my claim without even speaking to me, looking at my vehicle now that it needs engine repair nor sent out any letter of denial. I guess attempting to save face of the store. I have called on multiple occasions to customer service and to the store and the store manager ****** stated to the customer service agent that she has already spoken to me and no longer wants to converse about that claim which is untrue and absurd. The customer service agent stated the store manager denied the claim because my service was over a year ago, which is false and even the agent sent an email to the store manager for a better explanation as it did not make sense. So I am reporting this complaint to the BBB to seek assisting resolving the matter as they do not want to resolve internally. I have all evidence to take them to court if I have to! I attempted to escalate the claim which goes to the Area Manager ******* who has yet to be in contact either. I can provide evidence upon request.

      I came in on December 1st 2023 to get a oil change they informed me I had no oil left in my car and that my other fluids needed to be topped off so I told them go ahead and a couple weeks pass my car stop having issue starting up. As I’m driving it starting to jump like it’s going to turn off Monday Jan 8th my car shut down on me on my drive home from work I call Jan 9th valvoline they have a worker come out he started in front of myself and brother it was too much oil put in the vehicles I stated well how is that possible he said he doesn’t know he’ll go back to the shop and see what they can do I call back a hour later after standing int he freezing cold with my children’s stranded they not doing anything it’s not their fault they did everything by the books

      11/16/23 I brought my Dodge ram 2021 to Valvoline to get and oil change and front and rear differential service done. After 200 miles I broke down. I got the truck towed to ******* Dodge, and after inspection they discovered that Valvoline failed to put rear differential fluid back in the vehicle. The rear is blown. Valvoline purchased a used rear from a salvage yard and is expecting ******* Dodge to install it. Valvoline is offering a 12 month/12K mile warranty. ******* will offer no warranty due to the part being used and purchased by others. I expect nothing less than NEW OEM parts, as I did not make this mistake and cause this disruption in my daily routine.

      So a few weeks ago I went to Valvoline on Wabash Avenue and Springfield, Illinois to get an oil change, prior to me getting the oil change not even 24 hours later my motor started messing up. I woke up the next morning went to get on the highway and my oil hand dropped dramatically, so I turned around on the highway to head back to Valvoline, but didn’t make it because my motor gave out. I gave Valvoline a call and a manager name **** came down to assist me. When he seen the problem. He said I would need a tow from where my truck stopped because my motor wouldn’t let me drive my truck home. The manager **** said from the looks of it it looks like they poured five course of oil on top of the 5 quarts that was already in my truck. I filed a claim with Valvoline. They did some investigation I had my truck sent to mechanic shop where higher managers went to go look at it they made comments saying it looks like we owe him a new motor. The mechanic who has my truck says there was never oil change did the oil filter was very rusty and it looked like they poured 5 quarts of oil on top of the old oil that was already in my truck. I didn’t hear anything back from Valvoline for a while so I called today and was informed that my claim had been denied, but I had never received a call. They were very unprofessional and kind of rude. When I asked to speak to someone higher up for a better response on why the manager told me he would have to see, but that there was nothing they could do. I proceeded to tell him I might just have to take legal action. He then rushed off the phone. The mechanic that has my car says he thinks that they screwed up and don’t want to take blame.

      Hello my name is ******* ******** in February of 2023 I took my vehicle to Valvoline for an oil change Invoice ****** prior to taking a trip to help my daughter in college three hours away. At the completion of the oil change I was pulling out from the Valvoline shop and immediately noticed an extreme amount of smoke coming from my vehicle. I immediately turned around and went back to the Valvoline shop. Something was terribly wrong. I spoke immediately to the acting manager on duty as every technician could see the vehicle was smoking. I was provided a claim number ********* and the management team said they didn't know what was wrong. I had to pick my nephew up from gymnastics so I had to leave but my vehicle stopped approximately 1.75 miles away from the Valvoline shop and had to be towed to the ******** **** **** in Forest VA. My nephew's mother had to leave work in order to pick him up from gymnastics because I had to walk home. The Auto shop changed the oil and filter and the vehicle was still smoking. The Auto mechanic saved the oil and filter. I provided the oil and filter to the Valvoline manager in order to be sent off for testing because I believe that the oil may have been contaminated. I was told that the results of the test were inconclusive. I believe that the manager lied and never sent the oil off to be tested. The store manager and district manager were all contacted by customer service to further assist with answers and continued to avoid calls or not return calls. I have been dealing with this for almost a year and I unable to drive my vehicle.I am asking to have my vehicle fixed, to be refunded the cost of the oil change(Groupon cost plus remaining), to be reimbursed for the purchase of a new oil change and filter, as well as the rental that had to be used two times in 2023 to go out of town to help my daughter and to visit my 96 year old grandmother.

      I am rejecting this response because: I reached out today January 17,2024 at 9:46 am EST to the number provided for customer service and asked for a manager. The customer service agent reached out to two separate managers and had no response. The customer service agent left messages and made a notation. This is the same behavior that was happening for months all of 2023. I made multiple visits to speak to a manager and called multiple times to get the matter resolved. I would like my vehicle fixed and Valvoline pay for the repairs, I would also like to be reimbursed for the oil change cost including the Groupon cost.

      On 1/7/2024 while driving my vehicle the car stalled and engine stopped working. I requested a tow truck around 6:00 PM ET and the vehicle was brought to my mechanic ********* **** ******* **** * ****** ** ******** ***** ***  Phone ************  Upon mechanic visually assessing my vehicle he came across the vehicle not having the screw that is used to open/close vehicle motor oil flow. The screw was not put back in when I was receiving service from Valvoline on 10/7/23. This led to the vehicle draining fluid over time and leaking. This left my vehicle with almost no motor oil causing internal damage to my motor and other parts of the vehicle.

      I contacted Valvoline customer service (*************to explain what was going on today 1/8/24 at 12:32 PM.I was provided with case number **********. Customer Service said they would return my call to further discuss the issue with my vehicle. I waited throughout the day and nobody gave me a call back. I proceeded to call back the customer service number and nobody wanted to help or be held responsible to what occurred to my vehicle.

      I'm currently with ought no vehicle or transportation. I still have not heard back from the Valvoline in Manassas, VA with a solution to my case.

      Hello, thank you for waiting for my response about the complaint with the Valvoline company that is located at 8538 Sudley Rd, Manassas, on Wednesday, January 24, in the afternoon, I arrived to pick up my car at the repair shop that is located at **** ******** *** ********* ** ***** ****** ******”, the mechanic gave me the receipt of what was spent on my car and added information about what my car required, the notes were this “REAR DIFF FLUID WAS CHANGED TRANS FLUID IS BLACK AND WASNT CHANGED FRONT DIFF DRAIN PLUG WAS LOOSE EXHAUST LEAK

      My car has never suffered those failures, now I need to give my money to be able to solve something that was never caused by me, I took my car for maintenance to Valvoline because I want my car to be in perfect condition, now I just complained to Valvoline about what was explained. previously and their response was that they would only solve what they failed, the car not having fluid oil affects many things like the engine and transmission, my car is no longer the same, I am not very happy with what happened and now I drive With the fear of being stranded on the street with my car, I want to request a refund for the maintenance I did on 7/10/23 at Valvoline and tell you that I am not at all happy with what happened

      We are in receipt of this guests claim and apologize for the frustration felt throughout the claims process. Our records indicate the management team reviewed the services you received during your visit, we had the vehicle repaired and covered the cost for the error on our part. Fries' Garage noted the vehicle has exhaust issues, and needs an alignment - these findings are not a result of services received at Valvoline. This claim has been addressed, and is now closed.
