I Went into Valvoline on 11/29/23 for an oil change, within a week my car broke down. Upon towing it to my full service garage, they informed me that the work done on the car for said oil change was horrendous. My skid plate and oil pump O ring were not handled properly, causing the O ring to be crushed and leak oil almost immediately upon departing Valvoline. My mechanic informed me that my car had aged exponentially from the malpractice and I will be forced to purchase a new vehicle because of said events. After bringing it to their attention with my mechanics notes and his testimony, they have not been responding or taking this matter seriously, and have even been trying to cover it up. I finally connected with the manager after a week of not hearing from anyone and she told me that her employees informed her that this had been handled. This has been extremely dysfunctional and unprofessional, as I am a paying customer and now have been inconvenienced to the maximum with my only transportation to my job now being jeopardized. My car also only had 138,000 miles on it and I was hopeful that it would run for me for another 2-3 years before I even considered purchasing a new vehicle.Business Response

On alert 1228 2023 at 11:13 AM. I took the vehicle in to be serviced at **** **** **** *n Sacramento. *********** their store designation. IH014I had my transmission serviced. Paid and left.
3 or 53 or 4 days later. I noticed a pottle underneath the vehicle of fluid on the street upon noticing which the dipstick has not been returned to the vehicle. We go back to the facility. Watch the video with *** ******** in which *** ******* realizes that his technician. 2 of which worked on the vehicle neither of the 2 remember to put the dipstick back in after which he comes to the house. To check out the vehicle takes a picture of some court of fluid submits it to his corporate office. And states that we put this in the vehicle and denies the claim when the video blatantly shows that they both forgot to put the dipstick back in my vehicausing the fluid to leak, causing the transmission fail.
I paid 4 0 4 32 for the service. We watched a video together at the facility and he realized and showed his technicians are at fault.
I don't understand why they denied the claim. Because you took a picture of a quart of something. That has nothing to do with the fact that is technician.

On Tuesday Jan 9th,2024, at 9:51am, I received an email from Valvoline (********************************) with a coupon for 20% off any full service oil change.
I went to Valvoline the same day, Tue 1/9/2024 for an oil change. Besides the fact that it was a terrible experience with slipshod work, and poor overall experience, the technician who smelled so bad I could smell him from inside my car in a garage with open doors, informed me that the coupon was expired.
When I looked at the email, indeed, it noted: OFFER EXPIRES 01/08/2024.
Valvoline tried to trick me into visiting the shop, knowing that at payment time, I would have no choice but to pay full price!Business Response

On 12/29/23 I went to Valvoline to get an oil change. While there they said I was due to have my tires rotated. After they rotated my tires when pulling off the ramp I heard a terrible grinding noise. I started to pull off again but heard the sound again. I immediately pulled back around to Valvoline and asked someone to get in the car so they could hear the sound. He did, heard the grind and told me to get back in line so they can look. After taking the tires back off and looking he brought me back to the car and showed me metal shavings from where my tires were grinding against the tire well. They said they would put the tires back and give me a refund for the tire rotation. On the way home I felt the car shaking whenever I put on the brakes. The next day I was on my way to Detroit and the shaking continued when I put on the brakes. I called Valvoline and they said I needed a mechanic to look at the car and determine if Valvoline caused any problems. I took the car to ******* **** and the mechanic told me that my brakes, pads, and other parts of the brakes needed to be replaced and that the rear tires were the wrong size for the car. I called ******** ****** where I bought the tires on 12/22 and they confirmed the tires were the wrong size and offered a possible refund to resolve they issue but that would not cause damage to anything in the brakes. I spoke with the mechanic and was told that over torquing or not putting the bolts on in a star pattern might cause the break pads to be warped and cause the shaking. It took a couple days of back and fourth but Valvoline said they spoke with the mechanic he told them the car needed the breaks replaced and the tires were the wrong size and that they were not responsible for any damages. I informed I had just returned from driving to Arkansas before bringing the car in for an oil change and had no problems until after their tire rotation.Business Response

The denial is based off of the fact that we spoke with the mechanic that looked at this vehicle on 1/04 and we were told that the vehicle should have came in with staggered tires, however the vehicle came into our shop with all 4 tires the same. The mechanic also told us on 1/04 that the vehicle needs new brake pads and rotors and that was NOT caused by the vehicle having a tire rotation. We stand behind the decision to deny the claim. I am rejecting this response because: Valvoline stated they had a video and if so that video should show metal shavings in my car well. They gave me a refund for the tire rotation because they heard the grinding my car was making after they did the rotation which damaged my car. How is it they can supposedly pull up my car in their system and see what my car needs such as the type of oil it takes and routine care it needs, but did not pull up that my type of car cannot get the tire rotation they stated my car needed that damaged my car?

I came for a oil change and was suggested to do my rear differential fluids to which i said yes. While they were doing the jib, i heard a noise to which they came and told me that there is some issue and they are trying to fix it.
After a while they informed me that its something to do with the manufacturer, and that my cars needs to be towed and repaired by someone else. Now i am at a point where i don't have my a car to do my work. They also need me to pay for everything starting from towing to fixing the car. Went to this local Valvoline on September 16th. Had not even reach 6,000 miles. During that time I had to get four "top offs" of 3 quarts of oil. My KIA requires 5.1 quarts. That is a total of 17.1 quarts of oil. After the last "top off" on November 28th I asked them to check for any leaks. Instead the manager ***** just filled my vehicle with some type of oil. My vehicle takes the full synthetic 5w20. Then he had me drive off. After 564 miles my engine blew. KIA sorento engines have a recall on them from 2012 - 2017. That is why I bought the vehicle. But when the KIA dealership did their investigation they noticed that the engine was seized. The dip stick was not registering any oil. Then they lifted on the rack. Removed the under carriage panel and found the OIL PAN PLUG WAS NOT IN THE OIL PAN. So when I asked for them to check the engine for a leak, I expected that they would check. Instead I was given excuses that they did not know how the plug would fall out, BUT THEY WOULD NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. They blamed KIA and the dealership. KIA nor the dealership had anything to gain. KIA did not even know that Valvoline did the oil change. Not even that but KIA had other KIA Sorento getting engine replacements. My vehicle was NOT singled out by the dealership to blame the oil change.
Lastly, I was told by Valvoline Corporate that the store or regional manager would physically go out and conduct their investigation within 2 business days. It's now 6 business days later and they NEVER looked at the vehicle. They just made an arbitrary decision that it was not their store.
So, did they really check the oil plug ? Not in the amount of time I was there. I even got out of the vehicle on one of the occasions and no one ever removed the panel. They just filled it up, and blamed KIA for excessive oil burn. 17.1 quarts ??? I don't think so.
What oil did they put in, since I know where the synthetic oil I get is kept on the back wall and not the oil "hose" they used ?Business Response

(1/7) Date of the transaction: On Saturday, October 14th, 2023 I visited Valvoline Instant Oil Change store number ****** in ********* ** for an oil change on my 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek. (2/7) The amount of money I paid the business: $85.30. (3/7) What the business committed to provide me: a full synthetic oil change for my 2015 Subaru Crosstrek. (4/7) The nature of my dispute: On Saturday, October 14th, 2023, I visited Valvoline Instant Oil Change store number ****** ** ********* ** for an oil change on my 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek. They performed the service (which included checking the oil dipstick) and communicated that I was good to go. Before Thanksgiving travel I visited the same Valvoline Instant Oil change to check that my vehicle was safe for travel - they checked my fluids and my oil and stated that my vehicle was safe for travel. On my way back from Thanksgiving travel, my car broke down (it rapidly slowed to a stop while driving). I took my car to a repair shop and they revealed that the oil in my engine was overfilled. Shortly after, a full inspection on my vehicle revealed that the engine oil was double filled and CVT fill plug stripped. I contacted Valvoline Claims Department with the details of my case in hopes of being compensated for the damages in order to get the respective repairs. I was later contacted by them and was told that, according to their investigation, they performed the service without error and they were therefore not responsible for any damages or necessary repairs from said damages. I went to get an oil change on 12/27/2023 before i went there my truck was running good no nosies or anything . The tech said you want the same oil as usual I told him yes. After a few minutes of them changing my oil I smelled gas he proceeded to tell me that there a gas leak which I knew was a lie because my truck was fine until I went there. He told me you can't come here to get oil change again or they will refuse me until this is fix. I told him what happen he could not answer me all of sudden. I pull out the oil change garage my truck sound like it was no muffler on it that how loud it is and my truck was not doing anything like this until after my truck got serviced. I call to complain to the manager the next day Andrea about what has happened and how my truck sound really loud since they service my truck and I did not have this problem until they did what they did to my truck. I told him someone really did something to my truck it was running fine and quiet until I left this place. He told me he don't think it was due to anything they did. But they look but I'm upset because I went in to get an oil change and came out with a gas smell and a very very loud truck that was never there until they went under my truck and service it. So please explain this all of sudden my truck damage after I leave from you all. I call a car shop who will be looking at it. They said it sounds like they either broke or did something wrong for my truck to come out like this. I will never go there again and really upset because I put my trust in them just to have them mess up my truck and feel like nothing wrong. I look at reviews online and this is a on going issues with customers having damage cars often they do their oil change. I wish I would of did this before I went to them now I be paying for there doing which is not right. Also went online to file a damage claim and to find out they closed that off so can't do it. On 12/28/2023 I called instant oil change at the location in ***** ****** at the phone number ************* @ 10:44am the call was recorded and o specifically asked the price of the oil change and was given a price of 44.99 with a $10 off coupon I specifically asked the representative on the phone if the antifreeze was included for free with the fluid top off and was told yes. When my mother arrived at the place and got the work done she was given a higher price and was charged $7.99 extra for the fluids.
