The Valvoline location in Menomonee Falls WI stated via an email that they use the EVAC system to remove the old oil but they do not. I ended up spending $1600 for a new oil pan for my car because they striped my oil pan screw when they drained my oil. That location would not admit they did anything wrong and stated multiple times they did not strip my oil pan screw, ever though that was the only place I had my oil changed. Do not go to Valvoline unless you want to replace your oil pan.

Valvoline in Reading MA don’t even drive nearby. They will show you many issue on your car while you’re here for a simple oil change. Then proceed to ask you if you want to fix these issues. When you say yes it’s all on you. They will claim they are not a mechanic later on and will deny they can fix your car. My story is when I came back to Valvoline after they ask me to flush my radiator, 3 months later I came back with a sensor showing low coolant. They kept putting more coolant never scan the car, so I don’t have any records on how long I have been coning back for the same issue after the flushing. When it went to almost a year, they say it wasn’t them, they are not mechanic, and it was up to me to say Yes or No if you say yes anything after that is on you. When I ask who did the radiator flushing, he no longer works here, how about the manager? No longer works here, check your camera to see how many time I come in for the same problem, well our camera recording don’t go that far. They know how to cover themselves very well. I’m telling you now Do Not even Drive By Valvoline on Main St Reading MA. They will cut your arm and take that money and you will endure the consequences of them messing up your car on your own. They claim they have a universal all model everything inside it’s a big lie. Even when they don’t have what your car requires they will say it’s universal. Be Aware! They will deny your claim! Stay away from Valvoline!

Had an oil change done here and ended up with a leaking oil filter that nearly destroyed my engine just hours later. I had to pay out-of-pocket for emergency repairs, and Valvoline refused to take responsibility even with proof and receipts.
They deny everything and ignore follow-ups. Would never trust them with my money again.
      Zero accountability, zero customer care.
Turned into an oil leaking mess that costed me hundreds of dollars in repairs. Simple customer service could’ve made my experience better because mistakes do happen. But to completely disregard a paying customer and offer no support after their mistakes is the most unprofessional manner I have ever experienced with any business. Very disappointed with my experience with Valvoline.

Went to Valvoline in Bardstown Ky for a transmission flushed. 4 days later, I checked the transmission dipstick and it showed only a dark grey on it. When wiped off saw what appeared to be metal shavings and no fluid at all. Called customer service, they told a previous owner about a transmission leak in 2023. I bought this 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix Gtp in May in 2025. On the invoice they gave me, there was no mention of a transmission leak. The transmission is in bad shape, don't wanna risk it and Valvoline will not cover

I took my 2010 Ford Escape XLT to Valvoline on West Main in Belleville, Illinois for an oil change on 3/24/2025. I had no plans for other work until the manager strongly recommended what she called at the time a transmission flush. Trusting their expertise, I proceeded. Before this, my vehicle ran perfectly with no issues or warning lights.
The flush was done at 149,749 miles. Soon after, near 150,000 miles, I experienced major transmission issues: jerking near 2,000 RPM, poor acceleration, check engine and wrench lights, and a code for a shift solenoid problem.
I returned to Valvoline. The manager wasn’t there, but another employee helped. She added transmission fluid, apologized, admitted the transmission was damaged, and said Valvoline would take responsibility. She said a local shop working with them would handle repairs and the manager would follow up.
Later, the manager came to my home, scanned the vehicle, and called her mechanic. After their call, I was told the mechanic wouldn’t do the repair. The manager regretted recommending the service, saying she owns a Ford and wouldn’t have done it herself. Dispute her being the one who recommended it. She said she couldn’t help further. Unsatisfied, I filed a claim and got a diagnostic from a certified mechanic as requested to move forward with the repairs.
The report confirmed Valvoline’s service caused the damage. Kevin, the manager’s supervisor, said he didn’t need to see the report because their mechanic had already refused the repair—despite my mechanic’s written estimate.
Despite clear evidence and an employee’s admission, Valvoline denies responsibility. What began as a simple oil change has become a costly, stressful transmission failure. I’m still seeking help and accountability.

I had a transmission service completed at Valvoline for over $180. After driving out of town, my car began acting up. A local mechanic checked and found zero transmission fluid, meaning the service was either incomplete or done incorrectly. I had to purchase fluid from AutoZone and have it filled on the spot.
Despite the clear oversight, Valvoline has denied my request for even a partial refund of the transmission service, including reimbursement for the fluid which is the least they could do. They accept no responsibility, leaving the burden on the customer.
Do not trust Valvoline with anything beyond a basic oil change, if that. If something goes wrong, you’ll be liable, not them. Poor service and zero accountability.
This review is being filed to document that I am seeking reimbursement for the transmission fluid and partial refund for the incomplete transmission service.

STAY AWAY FROM VALVOLINE! THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR VEHICLE AND CLAIM THEY AREN'T RESPONSIBLE. While performing the transmission fluid replacement service, the "machine malfunctioned" and poured transmission fluid all over the engine compartment of my 2018 Toyota C-HR, Mileage: 79308. The technicians attempted to clean up the spilled fluid and claim to have completed the service. All lights on my dashboard came on shortly after leaving. I opened a claim with Valvoline and was approved to take my vehicle to Toyota for diagnosis. Per Toyota, the transmission fluid was low, belts were damaged and code P2829 was read. It took two days for Valvoline to acknowledge the quote and instead of approving the recommended service, they asked me to go pick the vehicle up from Toyota to bring it back to them to perform the service again instead and they denied the connection to the belt wear. I stated that I did not want to return to them for the service, so they agreed to pay Toyota for the service. Toyota completed this service and I picked up the vehicle from them on the evening of Tuesday, May 13th. The vehicle was driven home and drove fine with no dash lights until the morning of Saturday, May 23rd when the transmission failed completely, current mileage 79848. The vehicle had to be towed to the Toyota dealer. It was diagnosed as needing a full transmission replacement. Valvoline Manager Cody called me and let me know that his Area Manager and he had reviewed the quote and that Valvoline would not be taking responsibility since I refused to bring the vehicle back to them to repeat the service and this was now a "Toyota" problem since they performed service on the vehicle last. At no point did they disclose that by allowing Toyota to do the service that they paid for would I be releasing them from the responsibility of their botched service that caused the damage to start with. I am now faced with a $13k bill to replace the transmission.

I went to get an oil change on 3/17/2025 and a week later my oil light and check engine light came on. My car also repeatedly alerted me to add oil at my next fueling stop. Being a female with little to no mechanic experience was confused by this situation but I continued to add oil and get back and forth to work. Around the beginning of April I noticed an oil leak in my yard and it got worse over time. At the end of April my car got really loud with a knocking sound . I took it to an auto repair shop and I was told that my motor locked up and its oil everywhere underneath my motor. I filed a claim with vavoline and it was denied. I had no prior complications with my Mercedes prior to the oil change service with vavoline. The area manager Wesley told me that that the oil filter and oil plug were both in the right place and it wasn’t an issue. The mechanic informed me that they never lifted the car off the ground and that it was no way possible to see the oil plug unless it was lifted from the ground. He clearly has lied and refused to fix this problem.

I took my car to get an oil change and now 4 months later, the shop crew at my employer told me there is no oil in my car at all. They took my money and did nothing to my car. No wonder when I would turn my car on it kept saying "change oil". I was warned after I went there about problems regarding the location in Frankfort IL but thought nothing of it. Until now. Very disappointed that I wasted $75 for them to do nothing. I drive my children around in this car. This is my only vehicle I own.
