I dropped off my car just to be looked at and they did service without my go ahead. They apparently put in a battery then took it out again to check it because it couldn't be jumped. They quoted me 3k and told me my car was unusable then demanded payment for me to drive it off the lot when I said I didn't want the work done (mainly because i can't afford it, duh). I jumped it when i got there just fine and it was later fixed for less than $400. They charged me double what I was originally told and I got my car back in the exact same condition, which was to be expected, but for the price I was told. I only wanted it looked at.

The vehicle had been sitting in a garage for approximately two and a half years before it was towed to my shop. The boyfriend/fiancé asked me to inspect the vehicle and provide an estimate to get it running. We put a battery in to get it to start but was removed. My total was for the diagnosis an labor to remove my battery when they didn't want to purchase ours. I prepared an estimate for a timing belt and other maintenance. At no point did I speak directly with ******** ****** during the discussion on seeing what was needed to get it running. The charge reflects that work, and it was paid in full, approximately $220.

Took my Cadillac 2008 CTS to Medleys Auto Care Shelbyville Rd. on 3/6/24 as the steering was tight and making loud noises when turning. The mechanic indicated that the problem is the power steering pump needs replacing, plus the pulley replaced and the oils cleaned up. The service mangers quoted me $1050 but when he finished the job, he said $1173. After completing the work later that day I picked up the car and drove it home and parked it until Friday, as I had to work. When driving the car that Friday evening the Service Power Steering light came on immediately. The shop was closed so I call Monday 3/11/24 to let them know and they said to bring it back up here so we can look at it. All they did was reset codes so that the light would go off. They knew of this code on Wednesday when I picked it up. This is falsifying information to steal from a customer. It’s only been two days and I took the vehicle back for the same service power steering light problem. The service manager now says you have to take it somewhere else, we did all we can do. It’s not our problem that the power steering light is back. This is a total rip off and I want ALL my money refunded. Two days later paying $1125 and all the shop recommendations is take it somewhere else to be service. This is straight lying and stealing from a female customer. He charged me $225 on my Visa card and $900 cash but wrote the bill up for $1100. I should’ve knew it was something shady with the repair shop when that occurred. I want a full refund.

We replace a leaking power steering pump that was new but damaged by the previous owners, after reparing damaged an leaking pump the steering appeared to be working correctly ,Upon returning we  retrieved a trouble from the computer that indicates  that a power steering solenoid located in the rack  an pinion was setting a code.At that point not being related to the work we preformed we recommended  having a computer diagnosis into the unrelated proble to her power steering pump.

I am rejecting this response because:

They did not diagnose the problem efficiently, as the power steering is the power steering, and not a secondary issue, as their trying to deter the facts, at the end if the day the power steering is STILL not working and that is what they were paid to fix. I don’t have $1100 To throw away and be faced with still trying to fix the power steering, as the computer module clearly indicated, see attached image. $1100 to guess what the problem is, it’s not a suitable reply.
This is not a reputable shop.

    Sincerely,

The power steering pump on the car was a new pump improperly installed by someone else,in its damaged condition it was leaking power steering fluid profusely. To the point there could be no further diagnosis untill said pump was replaced,Upon replacement an a thorough cleaning all seemed to be working properly with to lights coming on,several days later we were able to retrieve a trouble code from the computer stating that a pressure switch mounted into the steering racksan pinion was setting a code,At this time I recommended  that she have some computer diagnosis into this pressure sensor, customer declined.

I am rejecting this response because:

Every reply Medley has given me or the BBB to date has a new story twist, beginning from the service to the bill.

Medley’s first reply had indicated that they repaired the power steering pump and now today with this reply they indicated that they replaced the power steering pump (switch is it?) I don’t believe they put $10 worth of work into repairing my vehicle at this time. I believe they’ve used this tactic many times to get more money out of female customers who came in for service, with this bait and switch tactic.
I paid Medley for their expert advice and SERVICE for repairing my car as an authorized mechanic shop and all I’m getting from them is the runaround and are out of $1125 and still no power steering.

I would like a full refund as the power steering is STILL not working and they were paid to fix it. At the end of the day they DO NOT
honor their work, but good at offering explanations as to why you need to pay more for the same service you came in for.

    Sincerely,

    Better Business Bureau:

I would like to reject the offer of Mediation for complaint ID ********* As indicated, all Medley does is offer an explanation as to why they didn’t do the job that they were paid to do. Now today, it’s the steering’s rack and pinion all of a sudden, none of this information was offered in the 3 previous explanations, which leads me to believe more fluff and still not a working power steering pump. I am filing a lawsuit, I guess the judge will decide.
