1 starSigned build paperwork to start Sept 2021. Moved in June 2023. Builder Superintendent out of Tennessee, with company Taylor told us we would have him for a year ONCE WE MOVED IN and now he's no longer with Taylor. A new new construction supervisor came out ( Sept 18th 2023 ) and looked at the serious items still not completed and started to look into them. He also pointed other serious issues as well. I understand he's no longer with the company. This makes over 8 different build superintendents, to include going back to the same guy that we started with that we've had to deal with in the last 2 years. I don't want to go into detail, at this time, I just want these items fixed and somebody to start responding to our very serious concerns, for the Safety and Security of my family and I. These items need immediate attention and have been for long time.
I'd like to reiterate this home build is in TENNESSEE.Review fromStacey H

So many amazing people we have worked with. Beth, Stephanie, Eva, Rob, and Matt. ??
Everyone we have worked with has always been so great about communicating. Anytime I ever called or emailed, I would always get an answer right back. Our foreman Matt always had a constant line of communications. It didn’t matter if it was day or night, we always felt welcomed to ask any questions or concerns. We lived over an hour away from where our home was being built. Matt was always sending us pictures and updates. If we ever needed anything done at the property, he was always willing to run over to our property. He always made us feel like #1 priority, even with other jobs he had going on. Matt is seriously the man!
We moved in July 1st, and Matt has still been in contact to make sure things are still going well! I would 10,000% recommend anyone wanting to build, to build with Taylor! Our home is absolutely gorgeous. Our framing went up on March 21st, and we moved in July 1st. There were so many options with Taylor, and so many gorgeous standard features. Most all of the options I wanted with other builders were extra charge upgrades. With Taylor, they were standard options!
I have absolutely loved everyone we have worked with, and I know there are more people behind the scenes we never even met, and we are so thankful to them as well.
Thank you Taylor for building our dream home! It’s even better than we ever imagined! ??Taylor Homes

2 starsWe started with Taylor Homes in April 2021. By November 2022, it was finally ready to move in!!! We chose the Peercy model to build. Upon move in, which we didn’t officially move in until February 2023, we found massive amounts of lighting coming through doors throughout the house which resulted in hundreds of flies. Everywhere. They also manage to find their way through the windows screens as well. With that being said, we are still missing our bathroom screen window and was told it was delivered and will not be replaced. We also were told the sliding glass door does not come with a screen, so we’re missing that as well. The basement steps, nail pops everywhere. The drywall finishing is horrible. We’re currently being told some lights we’re missing aren’t included in our package. I’ve been given 3 diff explanations for that. We’ve been through 5 superintendents. Currently working w Jim. About every wall in the home is crooked or bulging. They install dead switches that go to nothing. The laundry room layout is the worse I have ever seen. Our basement had mold which they did pay to treat. Overall it was a very slow build. Too many supervisors being swapped (which is a huge red flag). Crooked and bulging walls. Very, very high employee turnover rate. They always asked to sign off on the finish so the bank would release the money, but the city inspector would not, until it was at standard, so everything started getting rushed to get done towards the end. The time to build is completely unacceptable. We had about $10,000 of ‘just in case’ money Taylor Homes required and they blew through that in the first few months of building which left no money in the end for any other mishaps. Over all, do your own research. We sure did not and we should have. All of the BBB complaints are legit and similar to everything we have experienced. You will get the run around. Look elsewhere first. Ask around. Do research. Taylor has a reason for everything and you will always be wrong.Review fromBeth H

1 starWe have been waiting almost 18 months for our home to be built. We get a lot of lip service from the building supervisor and no one will speak to us at the corporate office.
We are on our 4th building supervisor and we are tired of being lied to.Review fromTom H

1 starDON'T DO IT! We are in our FOURTH year of construction. Our first superintendent promised to have us in our new home by Christmas. I assumed he meant 2020. The house was livable in November of 2021. Since then, they have done almost nothing but placate us and outright lie. My windows don't close or lock properly. All window screens either missing or damaged. My doors don't close or bolt properly. My final grade and rear concrete pads aren't done. Kitchen trim and hardware missing. The list just goes on and on. Cost overruns, code violations, huge delays. All of that cost us money either directly or indirectly. They changed out our superintendent at least Seven times. The current guy seems to have the best of intentions and is trying hard so I doubt he will be working for Taylor Homes very long. I'm sure he is tired of their excuses and delaying tactics just like I am.
Taylor homes apparently stopped caring once they received the last disbursement from the mortgage company. Don't believe any promise they make. Plan for huge delays and cost overruns. Truly, my advice is to find another company. Tom, Lyles, TN.Review fromJeffrey G

We have just completed building our Taylor Home and I must say we are impressed with the home. The quality of the build is impeccable and this is due to our superintendent Shawn Moore. He has the highest quality standards and ensures all subs are held to his high standards. He had issues resolved quickly and was outstanding in his communication with us throughout the process. He builds the house as it is his own and accepts nothing less. The quality of the products used in the home are not your typical builder's grade that we have had in other homes. While Taylor may not be the cheapest, the adage you get what you pay for has never been more accurate. The cabinets, plumbing fixtures windows and flooring are great products and it shows in our comp!eted home. I must say the outdoor package is also a tremendous value! We recently had over 2 inches of rain and winds blowing at 60 mph and our home had no issues at all which is very impressive and greatly appreciated. Taylor Homes truly builds a great home and is a tremendous value for the high quality products you get. I give Taylor Homes 10 stars and we could not be happier. Well done and thank you!

1 starThis is a most frustrating builder to work with. After 10 months, our home is still not finished on the outside. Taylor Homes has not been honest when requesting a fair credit for work we want to contract ourselves (due to their unacceptable delays). The owner of Taylor Homes is on your board of directors, which seems a conflict of interest in getting a fair BBB rating. This company does not deserve the 5 star rating you have given them!Review fromS. C.

Had a home built in 2010 near Mount Olivet, right now we are having a new roof put on, after 2 yrs the inside drywall is cracking and nails coming out, built in microwave face fell off and made a buzzing sound, the gfi breaker in the breaker box kept tripping constantly, gutters were not properly aligned, Goodin air conditioner system went out and had to be replaced, hot water heater had to be replaced, garage door springs broke, alot of other smaller things went wrong with our home 2-7 yrs after it was built. Of coarse I called several times and was told someone would contact me and never heard anything from them. The quality of our home isn’t what it should be and zero contact from the company after several phone calls. Even if they would fix everything that went bad, I would not use this company again because I’m afraid I would just get bad quality once again, especially the quality of the roof.Taylor Homes

Mr. C****, we're sorry to hear about your issues. We have no record of you contacting our office as agreed to discuss any concerns. Likewise, since the receipt of the above we've tried contacting you numerous times to no no avail via the latest contact info we had on record for you. Yes, our warranty ran out 10-11yrs ago. Thank You for finally reaching out. I have called numerous times prior to the home warranty running out, and the person I needed to speak to never called back and eventually stopped answering my calls. It’s ok, I have slowly been getting our issues resolved on my own.Review fromPamela Witt

We had a home built in 2019 and finished in Aug 2020. We have issues before moving in and told Superintendent John, all documented on their form, text messages, and emails. Pictures on file, and asked when the list will be done he kept telling us that the floor and cabinet coming away from the wall was just settling and he will get it fixed. We are now 2 yrs from when we moved in and nothing has been completed. I hired my own engineering company and foundation company and there is a major problem and more in repairs due to ****** homes neglecting the issues at hand. I had a sewer back up the first night in the home with shit in my shower and absolutely NO one came to clean it up due to a contractor putting paper towels down the toilet. Stained my shower and lived with that for a 1.5 yr until I paid someone to replace the floor for $700 later. I have a laundry list of items from Aug/Sept 2020 and have called and left messages for Gary and Chris but the superintendent calls and gives me some BS. I have email them all including Gary ******** and Chris ******, since then and not once has Gary or Chris reached out. ****** needs to get out here and resolve my issues so we can place it under warranty or I'll need to proceed with litigation. I see this is a major problem with them and if anyone wants to reach out for further action please contact me Pamela **** ****** **Taylor Homes

Ms. ****, first and foremost, please accept our sincerest apologies. Building as well as maintaining a new home can sometimes be stressful and aggravating. That said, as you are aware it took longer than we both had hoped to best determine what was causing the issue with some settlement. As determined, the soil conditions from your lot could very well be causing the issue. Nonetheless, we have agreed to install additional support at no charge to you as well as address any drywall cracks, etc. To move forward, all we are awaiting is the signed Change Order whereby you agree to the additional work to address this matter.
Like you, we'd like to get this matter addressed and behind us all. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any questions whatsoever. As 1,000's and 1,000's of other customers can attest--upon completion, we are confident that you'll enjoy your new home for many years to come!
Sincerely,

Hello, Building and maintaining a home can be stressful, but it should not be this way if you had the support of your builder. A change order came through after this complaint was filed....Interesting. I will not be signing this change order. It has NO detailed information, and not all items listed that need to be repaired throughout the home. Once you have a detailed change order, we can take another look. This was brought to John Superintents's attention on Sept 2nd and today is Sept 12, with NO response from Taylor Homes.
