Didn’t even get an opportunity with this credit union. 800+ score didn’t help somehow but at least I was refunded and my account was disabled. No real explanation for why but whatever. I heard great things but it’s a no for me. I’m usually the one telling others the perks of trying things and benefits of joining orgs but this was my first flop ever. Good luck to those who are looking to join or apply

While we certainly regret not being able to follow through with the entire application, it’s important to note that we have Credit Union policies to explain our decision. Abound is required to verify the identity of our Members. Unfortunately, the Credit Union was unable to verify your identity throughout the application process. Earlier this month, we mailed you an Adverse Action Notice to explain why we were not able to complete your application. If you’d like additional assistance, please visit a branch and we will be happy to help you. Thank you!

I have had 2 auto loans with this company. The first loan was paid thru the 2nd loan because I traded it for the current auto. The car lot took care of filing for the loan & arranging everything. I had to have a co-signer for the 2nd loan. I paid the 2nd loan off 4/15/2021. Now almost 2yrs later it’s showing on my co-signers credit report as being 30 days late & that $1300 is still owed on the loan for something. How could it 30 days late if it’s been paid off for almost 2 yrs. I have called several times & went to the campbellsville office to request a statement for what exactly this money is supposed to be owed for. I have got numerous stories & still nobody can produce me a statement to show what it’s owed for. Ive spoken to the same person several times before going to the office & get a different story each time as to what is owed. He also put in his nots of 1 of the calls that I agreed to make a payment of $150 on 1/1/2023 & I did not. My exact words were i may try to make a payment by 1/15/2023 but I needed to know what I was paying on first before I start handing over money I don’t really have to spare & got hung up on. I’ve been told it’s paid off, Ive been told it’s late charges, & I’ve been told it’s left over owed on the 1st auto which wouldn’t be my problem anyway. That would be on the dealer for not getting it right to start with. 1 employee even stated it was charged off whatever that means. I’ve also been told its being paid threw my chapter 13 bankruptcy which I also a lie because I specifically requested for it to be left out of it to be paid outside of the bankruptcy & did so. I was also told to contact my bankruptcy attorney & request it be put in it which would not help my co-signer at all. I feel I owe no money nor does my co-signer & I want the issue resolved with my title released. Also this information removed from the co-signers credit report. Please resolve ASAP. I have also reached to my other attorney for assist. Thank you.

I have no problem with the Abound Credit Union in Campbellsville. They have always been great to me. BUT, I am extremely unhappy with the terms of the Abound credit card. I pay off my balance every month, and this month it was over $1,000. Even though they have received the payment, (and the check has cleared my bank) they will not credit my account for 5 days! When I called the 800 number, I was told this was in the fine print. Apparently policy. I’ve never heard of such a thing! So are they continuing to charge me interest on an account that should have a zero balance? Would this be the case if I made two smaller payments? Why should my credit be affected because of this?
      Not happy.

Hi Suzanne - Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and allowing us an opportunity to respond. When credit card payments are applied to your account this lowers your outstanding balance and ensures interest no longer accrues. However, there is a delay in seeing the processed payment reflected in your available credit line/limit, which is not increased for a period of 5 days when paid via check. This extra time helps protect both the Credit Union and our Members by ensuring that the check is valid before limits are made available again, preventing over-the-limit situations. We hope this clarification is helpful and appreciate your positive comment about our Campbellsville staff.

Thank you. I wish this had been explained to me when I called and spoke to the representative.

I see why they have such a low rating. Aside from holding checks to be cashed, resulting in insufficient funds, I closed my accountvin June 2022. Why in both July and August, I received calls and letters notifying me that mr account was overdrawn. How, People, when y'all closed my account AND gave me my $5 membership fee back????? worst financial institution I've ever been a member of!!!!

Hi Darnetta - We appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback. We've done some research and see that the account should have been closed in June when you were provided your $5 share deposit. However, a mistake was made by Credit Union staff and the account was not closed at that time. Subsequently, two small, automatic subscription-based charges came through in July and August, taking the account negative. We also see that, after you received the notices, you came in and we were able to refund any overdraft fees as well as the two small, automatic subscription-based charges and close the account. We do apologize for the error and are glad that the Credit Union was able to resolve the situation.

I’m not a fan of Abound in Campbellsville Ky. These people are great at getting people in debt, but handles getting people out of debt poorly. The customer service minus one here and there are not friendly. I went into today and asked for a personal loan to pay off my credit cards due to high balance after burying my son and I know from experience a pre qualified check don’t require a hard hit in credit reports, but she pulled hard on my report after I asked her to see if I’m prequalified. She told me to send my tax forms which I did around 10am and haven’t heard from her since. She was not very friendly. If I end up with another hard hit for nothing I’m gonna be pissed, since I told her clearly to check prequalified.

Thank you for letting us know about your experience. Abound is focused on helping our neighbors get out of debt. However, we don't offer "pre-qualification" and our "pre-approval" process does require a hard credit pull. Our procedures call for staff to inform members of this prior to pulling their credit and getting the required information. We apologize if this process was not clearly communicated to you. If you did not authorize a credit pull, you can request that we remove it. Please contact us directly at 1.800.285.5669 if you'd like to make that request. We appreciate your feedback and your membership.

I am not sure why this was posted because I wrote this review then did not proceed, so I thought. But I have been told a few times that they do check to see if I qualify before pulling my credit. I am not confused or I did not misunderstand. I know what I heard. Understand people have to work overtime to build credit then work even harder to maintain credit, so pre-qualification is the first choice since it makes more sense to be sure that you may have a chance at getting a loan. Otherwise the hard hits damage people's credit score. Hopefully this will change one day, since it is wrong. But that's not Abound's Fault. That is the credit bureaus fault. I think it would be nice however if customer support improved.

Very frustrating experience with Abound trying to go through a loan application. I was told I would hear back in 24-72 hours but instead had to wait a whole week. This was a time sensitive issue as we were trying to buy something that others were interested. I am disappointed, my parents and grandparents both banked here and we’ve had nothing but good things to say until abound took over. I will be closing my account. This is a credit union and it feels like a corporate bank.

Hannah, we’ve reviewed your situation. After submitting your initial application (on 7/21/22), we did reach out to you (as promised) two business days later (7/25/22). On this day, we needed more information to push the application forward. Once you provided this info, we took it back to the application for consideration. When a decision was made about whether this loan would be funded or not, an Abound Team Member reached back out to you immediately (7/27/22). It’s unfortunate that the timing didn’t align on your end as the buyer. While we do pride ourselves on quick turnarounds for loan approvals, we are required to take each situation individually and review. At times, this requires further review and digging for us to find available options that could work for both the applicant and the Credit Union. We appreciate you trusting us with your loan application and value the longevity of what our Credit Union has provided for your family through the years.
