I was interested in buying a vehicle from this company. The sales person told me that a credit application would be required and she sent me a link. She assured me the application would result in a single hard inquiry on my credit report. The following morning my credit report service indicated six (6) hard inquiries from the transaction with this business. I explained before the application was submitted that I was buying a home in the next 6 months and that multiple inquiries was not acceptable.

We received the letter regarding *** ******** filing of a complaint today(05/22/2023) with the BBB and conducted a thorough investigation into the events surrounding the request and nature of the complaint. Our findings indicate that the consumer(Jason Looney) willingly and at his own discretion; submitted an online credit application(IP address validated) with the intent of retrieving the most accurate interest rates, terms, and conditions for an automobile loan approval on 04/27/2023. It was not until after *** ****** received the terms and conditions of his loan approval(s) that he reached the decision not to purchase and later requested that the inquiries surrounding his request for submission be removed. We reviewed all available correspondence, the digital footprint, electronic consent and disclosures, and all other documents pertaining to his request for credit approval with our company and it's affiliates. Although we wish we could satisfy the request, it is not within our rights to do so. The consumer initiated a credit approval process within the regulations of credit compliance and a "Notice of Consumer Consent" form is attached for reference of their acknowledgement.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

the business provided a link to a credit application and their employee stated deliberately that there would be a single inquiry, and there was not. The employee was either dishonest or misleading, and if the business refuses to correct the inquiries and continue to engage in dishonest business practices, their record as a BBB member should reflect their unethical business practices

    Sincerely,

    Jason Looney
