    This company is not friendly to veterans and their families. I am a widow of a veteran and attempted to purchase a home from this company. After reaching a price agreement for a manufactured home I requested the vendor number which is a standard and required submittal for a VA-backed mortgage. Once salesperson recognized I was not financing with a chattel mortgage, he stated he was unaware of what a vendor pin was and had to find out what I was speaking about. He also recited all of the special VA requirements needed for final approval and closing, which would add over $20,000 to the bargained price. Yet, when I requested a written document of items he was referring to and their itemized cost he was unable to produce. Subsequently, he stated all of the homes on the lot were sold and I would have to special order a home which would also increase the price an additional $30,000. My experience suggests Regional Homes of Alexandria do not look favorably if you have VA-backed financing and are not using their chattel mortgage operation. I would suggest active military, veterans and anyone who may qualify for a VA-backed loan for manufactured home purchase be mindful when considering this company for business.
