This has got to be the worst dealership I have ever been to in my life. They are so rude, lie to you, and just treat people like trash the whole time while being here. Everyone here is horrible including management who was also rude from the beginning. This place does not deserve the business of anyone. Take your business elsewhere as they will not care anyways.I had a quote for service needed. Them they proceeded to overcharge me roughly $300 more than what was quoted. Then I could not leave unless I paid it because they had my keys. This place does shady and fraudulent activities to people to extort them out of extra money. They lied to me giving me a quote for several hundred dollars less than the final bill. They held my keys and vehicle hostage until I paid it. They never cared enough to fix the situation or make it right. I was supposed to be billed several hundred dollars less.

Customer came to ********************** on February 27, 2025 at 9:09am for an appointment in ****************** to diagnose problem with his hood latch and release cable. Diagnosis revealed that the hood latch cable was detached and the hood would not open. Customer was then given an estimate at ******* by the ***************** Manager to replace the hood latch and release cable for $514.73 plus tax.  The customer approved the repair estimate at that time. According to Repair Order ****** the work was performed using Toyota Genuine Parts to replace the defective after market parts on the vehicle. Labor rate approved by the customer for 2 hours booked out at $340.00 and parts were $138.82 for a Toyota hood lock assembly and a Toyota hood lock cable assembly. Total cost to the customer was $525.02 with tax. The Repair Order was closed at 1:46pm and the customer paid with a credit card and left with his vehicle repaired according to Toyota specifications. There is no billing adjustment necessary and the customer actually paid less than the estimate he was given before the work was done.

      Better Business Bureau:

This dealership is full of pathological liars. They were only supposed to order the parts if they were needed, and they weren't needed. I had brand new parts I had already purchased. They stole and kept my parts for whatever reason. I did not approve them to steal my parts. I also had signed off on only 1 hour of labor. They extorted me out of an extra hour by holding my car hostage. They said they would not give me my car back unless I paid. Hence the reason I paid because I was not getting my car back unless I paid them their ILLEGAL ****** demand.

They have a long history of doing this to people. They lie to people, and scam them out of money they don't deserve. Just like they did to me. My bill wasn't even supposed to be $300. They fraudulently ran the bill up, and held my vehicle hostage until I paid it.

This dealership is very unethical and dishonest. They have no desire to be honest. They would rather scam and rip off people for hundreds of dollars for a one time event. Than to be honest and keep them as forever customers. Right after this happened my father who lives across town canceled his appointment with Toyota saying he will never use them again ever.

Horrible dealership that does this all the time. It is time for them to be held accountable. They owe me over $200 back. If they had INTEGRITY they would make this right, but unfortunately this dealership has ZERO INTEGRITY!!!!!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Northshore Toyota's initial response has not changed. Please note that the consumer attached to his complaint a copy of the original estimate that he approved for $$340.00 labor and $138.82 for parts for a total of $478.82. Northshore Toyota deleted the estimated shop charges in the amount of $35.91 from the Repair Order Invoice (******) in favor of the customer. This credit reduced the amount on the estimate from $556.63 to the amount of $525.02 paid by the customer. ********************** did not steal the customer's old parts that he purchased after market. They were defective and replaced by OEM parts as listed on the invoice. I have retrieved the customer's old parts and he can contact me at the dealership if he would like to pick them up.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********.

This Toyota dealership employs PATHOLOGICAL LIARS and thieves. They stole several hundred dollars worth of parts out or my car in which they refuse to return. They are overcharging me because they are a FRAUDULENT operation who scams people and lies to them. Just as they did to me. I hope they burn in h*** as they are terrible and deceptive people.

All they had to do was bill me correctly,  but they refused to do so because they have ZERO INTEGRITY in life, and are absolute trash human beings. The labor quoted was for one hour or less. The job took 45 minutes. They are FRAUDULENTLY billing me for 2 hours labor just to get an extra $170 out of me that they don't deserve.

The way these people treat people is horrible and deplorable. As they make a living out of being dishonest and scamming people on a daily basis. Hence the reason they work in the car business. Because that is all people in this business know how to do is lie to people.

Northshore Toyota's initial response still has not changed. The customer's old after--market parts that were defective and replaced under the estimate that was approved by the customer on 2/27/2025 are still available for him to pick up. The customer provided a copy of the approved estimate totaling $556.63 with his complaint. Northshore Toyota's response to the complaint on 3/14/2025 stated that the old parts were available for the customer to pick up at the dealership. The amount that the customer paid for the repair ($525.02) was lower that the initial estimate. Yet the customer still continues to defame the dealership and our employees with his rude, offensive, and illogical comments.
