      We have a contract with American Home Shield and last Friday we had Uba heating and air replace our Evaporator Core with a out of pocket cost of $2,250. We repeatedly asked for a breakdown of the uncovered charges and each said I needed to talk to the other to get the breakdown of total costs of the repair (not the uncovered part). After the repair was completed our freon leaked out (8lbs) and Uba said I needed to start a new repair order. The technician said that there was a valve leaking that needed to be replaced and the Supervisor said the freon would be covered. American Home Shield said that the technician stated that the unit needed to be replaced due to abuse and miss use. This negates coverage by the home warranty. Uba is recommending replace the unit at an out of pocket cost of over $5,100. If the technician would have properly written up the estimate the repair would be covered. Now American Home Shield is wanting us to get a second opinion. The owner of Uba stated that his report did not have abuse or miss use in the report but an agent of American Home Shield added that. We fear that a second opinion would go to that agent and be denied again. I have already replaced the unit.
