Check engine light came on my 2017 Audi A3. Brought to autozone to diagnose and it read thermostat and housing. Called business Bingo Alignment to see if they could fix it. Manager said “they can fix anything”. Brought my car on May 30thManager said it would cost $725 and wanted me to pay upfront. Don’t her no. She said car would be ready on May 31st. Went to pick up car on the 31st. Car wasn’t ready. Stayed there for 3 hours and she told me that the car was still overheating. Ran another diagnostic and she said it was throwing all kinds of diffrent codes. Told her I could not afford all what it was showing. My car was running fine before all of that. Just to fix the thermostat. She quoted me another price of 1106. To fix the thermostat and housing. The part that she ordered and they put on the vehicle was “probably a defective part”. June 1st she texts me and ask for my name and address so Audi can warrant the part. She would have to order another one. My husband goes to their shop on June 3rd to check on vehicle. Manager tells my husband waiting on part that was going to be overnighted and tell my husband the part that was “defective” had a hair line fracture and her mechanic put JB Weld on it so that voided the warranty on the part and it was going to cost her a lot of money to get another part. June 5th. We called back about the car. Manager said she’s looking for another part. Texted back and said part was going to be delivered and would be ready on June 6th. She texted back on June 6th saying thermostat was changed and was going to reprogram car on June 7th for pickup. June 7th manager texts back. Car is ready and total is $1400. We go to pick up car and they are going yo test drive it. Car comes back. Said car was good. Paid the manager. Leave with car and go 1/4 mile and sensor goes off about critical engine failure. Text manager back and she tells us it’s nothing they did. Very shady mechanic shop. Only been open for a couple of months. No certified mechanic

Customer had a lot of issues with vehicle and waiting until car was overheating to get serviced. Explained to customer that thermostat would not fix All issues. Explained that this job is a $2400 job and that we would help her as she was in need to trade in and couldn’t afford.  Customer moved forward with thermostat only repair. Owner drove her to her house 28 min away after hours to help her as her car was here and her husband was out of town. She wanted us to fix it and clear codes so she could trade car in because she could not afford the maintenance or repairs. The thermostat was installed and had a small crack defect. as customer needed asap we tried to alter part for her good enough for her to trade in without dealership noticing per her request. Could not get the part altered. Tried to warranty, the place wouldn’t accept due to alterations. Had to buy a new part. Part was on back order. Customer came back every other day to check. Advised customer we could put old thermostat back on at no charge for her to take elsewhere and advised thermostat was more expensive and vehicle had to be relearned due to vehicle not being in normal good running condition, customer said it was fine just get thermostat fixed and she would wait for new part. Tested vehicle 3 times vehicle was fine on test drives and never overheated. Customer was upset trade in wasn’t good from offers she received as she was upside down on Audi and left. Customer picked up car and left. She called and demanded repairs free of charge unrelated to the thermostat. We are not responsible for the other repairs she knowingly needed. Customer attached full refund request and for us to pay for radiator  hoses and these are unrelated to repairs she authorized which is a thermostat. Refund will not be given, in fact we are upside down in this repair trying to help no profit was made from this thermostat repair it is negative $250

Respectfully no refund will be given mam. I understand that you wanted to trade vehicle in due to all of the required repairs you knew about and you couldn’t afford. Therefore you are upset with the mechanic shop. However, we are not responsible to fix all of your issues on your vehicle as you specified thermostat repair. Just in thermostat repair I saved you almost $1,000 to try to help.  You were well aware your vehicle had multiple things wrong with your vehicle and you thought fixing thermostat and clearing codes would help you trade in. Audi is a well known expensive foreign car and very expensive to fix no matter what repairs entail. Best wishes
