This company sent me a "Notice of Intent to File a Lien" on behalf of their client, ***************. Legally, in **********, you have 90 days from the last day work was performed on the project to file a lien. The last day work was performed on our project was in July 2022. Levelset should know basic CA law regarding liens and should also make their clients aware. Levelset should not be helping file liens that, legally, can no longer be filed.

Ive been lied to multiple times by these people. They bill themselves as providing a service which secures your rights to a lien for non payment. However, *** found very little value in the service while simultaneously paying them north of 5 figures this year alone, and now Ive been fine printed out of another 10+ THOUSAND dollars. Apparently when I signed a short extension a couple months ago and gave them a payment it included an AUTO RENEWAL that LOCKS IN if you dont cancel 30 days prior, with NO NOTICE GIVEN. This detail was not discussed with me by anyone. Theyre con artists. If one of my customers signed a contract for work performed and then got cold feet for whatever reason, theres absolutely a cancellation fee that we charge, but these people are perfectly willing to steal 10 GRAND of my money in exchange for NOTHING.Im a licensee partner with 3 branches and my *********** was using these people to file liens, so I decided to give them a shot. When I was originally contacted with a subscription model by one of their sales reps I asked if my *********** was set up under the same arrangement they were trying to lock me into and they said yes, which was a TOTAL lie.Corp was ONLY using them to file liens and basically nothing else. In order for this service to even pay for itself, one has to go to great lengths postulating hypothetical scenarios. (IF the person signing the contract isnt the actual owner or IF we made a mistake recording the information, IF this particular person delays paying us, IF the person has a great lawyer who knows our lien notice wouldnt hold up in court and things end up escalating to that level. then and ONLY then will their subscription model have paid for itself!!

    Better Business Bureau:

The business hasn't responded to me in reference to this complaint. I have heard from the business ONLY because I continue to reach out. My latest message to them has gone unanswered when they tried to tell me that they contacted me prior to the point in which it was too late to cancel the auto renewal, which was false. I sent them the only message that I received but that was only AFTER the arbitrary cancellation date had passed. Their annual-based contracts allow for them to **** tens of thousands of dollars from you with zero notice until it's too late to cancel. They prey on hardworking small businesses with annual subscription models and use fear based tactics to **** you in. And they'll say bold faced lies to get you to sign on the dotted line.
