    On March 9, 2022 I paid $395 for a semi-annual maintenance agreement. The company service man did come out twice. On his first trip he changed the oil and filter on my generator, noting that the unit was frequently tripping out. In the fall he did not change the oil or filter. He again noted that the the unit was still tripping out. On December 23, 2022 a service technician came out ($175 callout) to fix the tripping problem. He changed the battery - said that would fix it. It didn't. On January 25, 2023 a service technician came out to again fix the tripping problem (another $175 callout). The service technician told me "Generac had received a large batch of defective starters". After changing the starter, the unit has performed without tripping out. The unit now says there is no Wi-Fi module. I should not have to pay for defective parts supplied by Generac, or the replacement of said parts. Now I have received a bill for a renewal of the service agreement with a $50 increase ($445). An oil filter and 2 quarts of synthetic oil costs significantly less.
