I was quoted a price of 12,707.14 for a roof which I desperately needed. It was damaged during hurricane Ida. They knew that I was working with my insurance company, who has been horrible through this whole situation. I’ve been fighting them for it for three years now. I put down the first 6,707 to get the job started. the gentleman who came to my house to begin to set everything up, told me that they were going to work with me, for the rest of the amount I still owe. I was desperate and I went ahead , went with them. when I got my final bill it’s no longer The 6,000 I was supposed to pay. now they’ve added an extra like almost 2000 I did not authorize that, nor did anybody bother to knock on my door or ring my phone to inform me of this, when they were doing the job. The lady that I spoke to on the phon was actually pretty narcissistic about the whole situation. I paid for supplies that were sitting on my lawn, that they did not use. which I have pictures of. I don’t feel I should’ve have to pay for that as well. I’m trying to pay them. The money that I owe them. Instead of working with me, and they would be paid off in 2 1/2 months, they decide they’re going to put a lien on my house. This is a awful company. that was a wonderful Christmas gift. I would like to know if anything could be done in this matter. them putting a lien on my home! That’s just not right. I’m working really hard to get my credit cleaned up this isn’t helping. They told one thing before I signed the contract. then did a whole Nother thing after they got the first installment. they did offer a credit application which I wasn’t eligible for. But I mean. We know we owe the money. And we’re happy to pay it. Within the next 2 1/2 months it would be done. Did they really have to put a lien on my house? We could make a big payment for the next 2 months then the final payment at the end of February. instead of working with us they chose to be shady.. I wanna know if something can be done.

      Dear
      ****** ********

      Thank you
for taking the time to share your concerns. We value feedback from all our
customers and take it seriously, as it helps us improve our services and
address misunderstandings. I would like to take a moment to provide some clarification
      regarding your experience.

      In the
signed Retail Agreement, the authorized Scope of Work clearly
states that our company will “Inspect all decking surfaces for broken and/or
decayed boards.” It also reflects your purchase of the Standard Limited
Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty for the IKO Cambridge Architectural roofing
      system.

      In Section
6: Material Specifications & Installation Methods, the agreement
explains that any installation methods or material specifications not listed in
the Retail Agreement are valid if the adjustments are required to comply with
      the manufacturer’s warranty.

      Upon
inspection of your roof decking, it was found that the wood did not meet the
requirements outlined by IKO’s application instructions or the International
Residential Code (IRC). To ensure compliance, it was necessary to replace
the rotted decking. IKO’s Limited Warranty explicitly states that it assumes no
liability or obligation for “Any damage that occurs during or after any
improper application process, including one that fails to follow IKO’s printed
application instructions.” Step 1 of IKO’s application instructions specifies, “Deck
must be smooth, firm, clean, dry, and securely nailed. Wood panel decking is to
be exterior grade, conforming to building code requirements.” Similarly,
the IRC R905.2.1 requires, “Asphalt shingles shall be fastened to
      solidly sheathed decks.”

      To comply
with these standards and ensure your roof installation met both manufacturer
and building code requirements, 15 sheets of ½” plywood decking were purchased
and installed. As outlined in Section 4: Customer’s Obligations of the
Retail Agreement, it states, “Decking: Customer agrees any decking
replacement will be charged at a rate of $110 per sheet...” This resulted
in an additional charge of $1,650.00 to cover the cost of the necessary
      materials.

Additionally, Section 4: Customer’s Obligations also states, “Payment: The down
payment is due upon execution of this Agreement, and the balance is due upon
receipt of Company’s invoice,” which was agreed
upon by both parties at the time of signing. The section continues, “All
work requested by Customer, regardless of whether or not it is approved and/or
paid by the Customer’s insurer, will be the Customer’s obligation.” The
decking materials purchased to ensure compliance with the Standard Limited
Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty were considered a customer request, as they were
necessary to fulfill the agreed-upon Scope of Work.

      It’s
important to note that these materials and their installation were authorized
by the terms of the signed Retail Agreement and were essential to ensure your
roof was properly installed, compliant with applicable codes, and qualified for
the Standard Limited Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty.

      While we
understand the financial challenges you’ve faced
due to delays with your insurance company and other personal circumstances, it
is our policy to follow the terms of our agreements to maintain fairness and
consistency across all customer interactions. It was never our intention to
make you feel devalued or unappreciated. However, we also must protect the
integrity of our work and ensure all balances are resolved in accordance with
      the agreed-upon terms.
      If you
would like to discuss this matter further, we welcome the opportunity to
address your concerns directly. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

      Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because: first of all, I was not verbally informed of your exorbitant. Price for any of the extra boards or materials that would have to be used prior to them being put on. If it is or isn’t written on the contract, is almost irrelevant the point is is when you were putting the boards on before the extra got put at that exorbitant price someone should have informed me of it. However, that is not my biggest concern My biggest concern and Complaint is the shady, uncalled for situation with putting a lien on my house! Instead of trying to work with me and you would’ve been paid off within three months. That part is what brought me to file this complaint.  In my opinion, it was uncalled for and unjust!  until you take the lien off of my house that you threaten to file, I will not be satisfied! If it comes down to it, I will pay the absorbed amount for the extra boards, that no one verbally told me that was going on. Which I was told if that were the case, they would let me know first, by the gentleman who came to my house. That didn’t happen!. But the lien on my house, that I will not  except . Nor will I not stop this complaint or advise people not to use your company. Who asked me about The company that put my new roof on. Admittedly, the work is beautiful. Very happy with how it came out. What makes me angry is how I’ve been treated there after. Simply for the fact that you couldn’t work with me. I have no intentions of running off without paying you. You did the work we owe the money simple as that. Instead you chose to treat me like a goddamn criminal! As if you were going to not be paid. We don’t work that way. instead of trying to work a reasonable solution with me, and once again I would have  paid it off in full within a three month period. You chose to be ugly about it. And just two days before Christmas to add salt to the wound. That in itself was low. Therefore, I will not Drop this complaint. Well, at least not until you drop the lien on my house. The work is beautiful however, the Woman I spoke to, not so much. I have never felt so  judged, humiliated, and downright horrible in my life. When I got off the phone with this lovely lady, I went straight into a damn panic attack. my daughter thought I was gonna have to go to the hospital. Because I was freaking out so bad. I just got over Covid, which lasted for over three weeks. I don’t know if she was salty about the fact that I didn’t answer the phone in those three weeks.. But it is what it is.Covid is not a fun sickness to have. On top of diabetes and depression. Thanks for the wonderful Christmas gift

BBB is unable to locate the business.
On about 11/18/2024 we requested Garcia Roofing to inspect our roof
for location of one small leak noted on the inside corner of the patio. The
Garcia inspector looked over the area that we reported the leak. He proceeded
to inspect the roof by walking around and taking pictures. He proceeded to
complete an inspection of the attic also taking pictures. The representative
then sat down discussed what he saw and shared the pictures with us. He noted
that there was water in the corner in the attic near the area where we noticed
the leak onto the patio. He stated he was going back to the office to report
his findings and then provide us with the estimate and the scope of the job.

      He
returned the next day to discuss the repair and the scope of the job and how
they were going to replace the shingles in the gully up the entire valley
(3ft) on both sides to the roof ridge libne and remove and replace transition
flashing. We questioned him about the flashing since there were no other leaks
on the sheet metal roof anywhere else.  He
stated that it appeared not to be holding up to the weather and while his crew
was up there it would only be a slight increase in cost and we could be assured
that no leaks anywhere onto the patio could occur into the future.  He stated there was a 2 year warranty on the
job.  So, on Garcia’s recommendation we
agreed to the project and signed the agreement.

      Timeline

The repair started on 11/22/2024 completed same day.
Over the weekend we noticed several new leaks (approx. 5or6) under the sheet metal roof where there had not been leaks before. The newleaks extended form the original corner to the far end about 20ft.
      It
appears that the roofing crew had done more damage than good.
Called Garcia on 11/25/2024 to report the problem, crew returned and attempted repairs.
Called Garcia on 11/27/2024 to report the sheet metal roof which had not been leaking is still leaking. The same crew returned to correct the repair work.
On 11/29/2024 Representative arrived to inspect the job. He noted that there was still a problem with leaking and he noted that these were new leaks. And reported it to the company.
We requested to speak with office manager or supervisor, no return call.
On 12/02/2024 same crew came to attempt repairs, worked on patio roof and left.
12/05/2024 there were still many leaks. We sent email to representative not to send out the same crew or any crew until we spoke with a manager or supervisor.
On 12/06/2024 without our knowledge, or authorization, when we were not home, a crew came to our home and attempted repairs again. We learned this afterward from a message sent via cell phone to us.
On 12/13/2024 we awaited a call from a manager either Mr ******* or Mr **** per ****** and no call came.On 12/16/2024 the roof is still leaking and we called Garcia at *** *** **** again and no manager returned out call. I explained my disappointment to the associate that answered the phone. She acknowledged my complaint, said that a Mr. Israel or Mr. **** would call. There has been no call as of 12/20/2024.
On 12/18/2024 we hired a different roofing contractor to come out to inspect the damage to the entire patio area and sheet metal roof that is now leaking in several places and much worse than the one small original leak. A Water test was conducted and he noted the leaks in the damaged sheet metal. He also noted other issues with the way the job was performed subpar to correct our original leaking problem. He estimated it would cost approx. $2000.00 to repair the damage to the patio edging where the original roof and the patio extension meet and we are awaiting a separate estimate for the replacement of the sheet metal area which he stated will continue to leak always unless it is replaced due to the improper screws and holes Garcia caused in it while performing the repair job.Without replacing this in its entirety he stated we would always continue to be repairing it year after year and his company could not warranty their new work without replacing the sheet metal.

      Dear
      ******,

      Thank you
for bringing this matter to our attention. At Garcia Roofing, we take pride in
delivering quality work and ensuring our customers' satisfaction. We understand
your frustration and regret that this situation has caused you concern.

      Upon
reviewing your account, our team promptly inspected your roof, diagnosed the
issue, and completed the agreed-upon repairs on November 22, 2024, with your
approval. Following your report of additional leaks, we returned on three separate
occasions to investigate, adjust, and retest the repairs, including water
testing, which confirmed the work was sound.

      On
December 6, we proactively attempted further repairs, though prior tests showed
no issues. We regret the miscommunication regarding this unscheduled visit.

      Despite
our efforts, you hired another contractor who critiqued our work. While we
respect differing opinions, we stand by the quality and integrity of our
repairs. We value your business and have already offered a 3-year warranty to
address any unforeseen issues related to the work we performed and to ensure
      peace of mind.

      We strive
to resolve disputes fairly and amicably. While we have made every effort to
address your concerns and ensure the repairs were done to industry standards,
we respect your decision to work with another contractor. Given that we
completed the agreed-upon scope of work, thoroughly tested our repairs, and
promptly addressed your concerns, we believe waiving the total invoice or
providing any reimbursement is not justified.

      Please
feel free to contact us directly, as we remain committed to working with you to
      address this matter.

      Sincerely,
      Garcia

Our last contact with Garcia Roofing was via email that we sent on 2/7/2025 and we have had no response.  Therefore, after 2 ½ months talking with Garcia Roofing and after much deliberation Mr ****** and I have concluded what we are willing to accept as a resolution to the damage caused by Garcia Roofing to our home.  The patio cover replaced to include new metal panels, and all materials included in the original repair replaced.

In correspondence received from Garcia Roofing they have stated the damage was caused by their work crew and they are willing to replace the metal panels and redo the patio cover.

This resolution should be acceptable based on the damage caused and the warranty coverage in the original contract from Garcia Roofing, without any new demands.

      Dear ****** ******,

Thank you for your patience and for sharing your
concerns. We are currently reviewing your request to proceed with the original
materials and pitch as per IRC codes. Our primary concern is that the current
pitch does not meet the manufacturer’s specifications for the new materials. It
is essential that our work complies with both the IRC code and the
manufacturer’s requirements to ensure the warranty remains valid.

We are committed to working closely with you to find a
fair resolution and will notify you once a final decision is made. Our goal is
to address your concerns while ensuring the long-term performance of your roof
and maintaining the integrity of your warranty.

We appreciate your understanding and will keep you
      updated on our progress.

I am rejecting this response because:

      March 5, 2025

      Garcia Roofing/****:

It has been since the latter part of November 2024 since the work was performed by Garcia and the patio roof was damaged.

We have read your response and understand your concerns.  The patio was originally built by a General Contractor and meets all building code requirements.

To perform a re-roofing job on the patio roof to replace the panels that were damaged does not require us to change the slope/pitch per IRC Code, Section R908.1 & R905.

All we want are the R-panels to be replaced  like those that were already there and to restore our patio roof to the condition it was in before Garcia’s crew damaged them.

To require us to treat this warranty/repair as if it was a brand new build project that must meet different standards is not appropriate nor fair to us.

We will only accept the repair to be done to replace materials that were originally on the patio roof, with no additional conditions or expense to us.

We are not asking Garcia for a warranty on the metal panels.  We are still within the 2 year warranty on the contract that we signed and just want the patio restored to pre-damage condition.

      Sincerely,

      ****** ******

Our roof was replaced after Ida by Garcia. Just a few months ago our roof in the front of our house began to leak and caused damage to the ceiling in our front office. We understood the roof was warranteed and that was one reason we went with Garcia to begin with. We called and they sent someone out to repair the leak and said if it gives us anymore issues to please call them and they would take care of it. Well it started leaking again and really left a mess on the same ceiling. We called and they came out, told us it was not under warranty and it would be 3600.00. We decided to get an estimate from a different roofing company and find out why it is leaking. He quoted us 500.00 for the repair and we supplied the shingles. I am attaching photos. The reason it is leaking is they nailed through all of the flashing causing the leak and when they came out they tried to cover it up and nailed more through the flashing causing the huge leak. We will not hire Garcia again.

We are truly sorry for the issues you’ve experienced with your roof and the inconvenience it has caused. This is not the experience we want for our customers, and we deeply regret falling short of your expectations.

As an act of good faith, we will be refunding the $500 that you had to pay for the repair. We take your feedback seriously and will use this to improve moving forward.

Paid cash to have a new roof installed roughly $24,000.
Within several months we had several hard rains . The roof leaked causing interior damages to my home .
I called and Garcia responded within a few weeks and sent a representative to inspect and review damages . Pictures were taken of the exterior and interior . It took a few more weeks for the exterior repairs to be made and to their credit Garcia did a good job . The problem is they never followed up on the interior damages . I made several calls and sent an email as well expressing my disappointment in their response . Still nothing !
I will now seek legal assistance in getting this resolved .
I am a cancer patient fighting my own private battles and this has just brought more stress into my life .
      Shame on you Garcia !

I contacted Garcia Roofing on or about 27 March inre having a roof leak repaired. On 1- April, they dispatched ****** ********, a company rep, to meet and assess the extent of the work; which was to repair / replace a leaking roof jack. He produced an agreement / estimate for the work which listed a firm price of $1107.40 for replacement of the roof jack and shingles with an added price of $95.00 per sheet of plywood replaced. He stated that a 50% deposit would be required to get me on the schedule. I agreed that the price was fair and signed the document while also submitting the 50% down payment; which amounted to $553.07. The last thing ****** ******** said to me was "the construction manager will contact you in 10-14 days to schedule the repair".

On 3- April, I received a call from Mr. ******** telling me there was another document in my email I needed to sign. When I asked him what it was, he said it was just another document. Perusing same, the document was blank save for a 56% increase in price and adversarial legalese that amounted to my paying Garcia's legal fees should we have an unresolvable dispute and need to go into court; subrogation I believe this is called. There was no mention of the work to be performed or the down-payment made 2-days earlier; let alone the prior agreement. When I emailed Mr. ********, he called and gave me a long and rambling treatise with no point. He could NEVER give me a clear and coherent reason for the appearance of the 2nd document; price increase and subrogation aside. At that point, I told him that if green-mail is how Garcia does business, then cancel everything and refund my deposit. I also informed him that if the original document from 1- April had contained the subrogation clause, there would be no agreement. I reiterated canceling the agreement and refunding my deposit. To date, 2- emails and 2- phone calls inre the refund are unanswered.

I have filed a dispute with VISA to have the charge cancelled.

We hired Garcia to put in gutters in early September 2023. While we have no complaint of the quality, we did request that one of the 4 down spouts installed be moved to a less conspicuous place. We were told rather quickly they would be happy to make that modification at no additional charge. We were give a timeline of 1-2 weeks. We did not hear back after that commitment and have sent multiple emails and phone calls to Eric and Lydia. We did receive a response later that again committed to come make the adjustment. We have again not heard back. We have sent more emails and phone calls and at this point have been ghosted and it appears there is no intent on making this right.

Hope to never do business with this company again. Started with they came out to give me a quote. 2 days later I approved with no questions or trying to talk the price down. I trusted that from the reviews and commercials I had seen that I made a good choice of company. Get everything set up and then was not able to get an answer from my sales man on when work would start. Finally get told that they are waiting on materials. After almost 2 months I have to keep calling to finally get told someone is going to come measure the roof to get materials ordered. Just wow. Roof gets installed a month later. I was asked if I would be putting gutters up (Whish there were already gutters on the house) and I said yes and the still installed the roof overhanging the gutters so no water made it in them. Fast forward 3 months later they finally come to cut the metal roof back and damage the roof caps doing so. At this point I was never asked to inspect after work was done. They just leave and I am stuck calling to get repairs. The after another 2 months they finally came to remove a cutter clip they installed the drip edge over. And now still have not received any paperwork on warranty or even the receipt for the job. Highly recommend staying away from this company.

Garcia roofing installed a roof on our house the year we bought it. The warranty transferred over to us. During Hurricane Ida, MOST of the roof stayed in tact. We lost two rows of shingles on the back of the house due to improper installation of the starter strip, which has been verified by multiple contractors AS WELL AS GAF, the shingle manufacturer. After speaking with Garcia Roofing multiple times, they have declined responsibility and gave me an astronomical quote to repair the damage. I am asking Garcia Roofing to honor their workmanship and warranty. I would like for them to replace the missing shingles, and correctly install the starter strip around the entirety of the house, which is also installed incorrectly.

Put a new roof on my house in December 2022 colors don't match that claim it's not They're Fault to hire a lawyer and Sue who have made the shingles

The discrepancy in color brought to us by the homeowner is an issue with the manufacturer and the batch of shingles installed. Garcia opened a claim with the manufacturer to address this issue, but the manufacturer's processes take some time and the holidays have also slowed down the ability to have the claim reviewed as quickly as desired. Though the complaint is an issue with defected shingles, Garcia is working to resolve the matter with the homeowner.

I spoke with the head contractor and discussed that I didn't want them to scratch and bend my gutter cans while they were on the roof. They still caused damage to all of the gutter cans. Also, I tried to get out of the contract when there was an integrity problem on their end. The salesman told me he was going to charge a certain percentage and then switched it up later on. I also gave $6000 for a deposit but wasn't given a receipt until two weeks later. The receipt stated that I paid $5000 which wasn't the amount I paid. After the roof was finished, they sent another guy to put up cement board and he cut it next to the air conditioner unit outside. This caused the unit to not be able to perform as it has done before. I had to pay someone to clean out the unit. Garcia also stated they were going to get the rest of the money from the insurance company, the insurance company sent $6000 and Garcia told me I owe $9000. I spoke with someone from Garcia and stated that whatever money is left over from getting the gutter cans replaced, they will receive.

Customer was involved in a final walkthrough upon job completion and failed to present any issue regarding roof or gutters during this time. Customer found job satisfactory enough to sign off on the certificate of completion. Photos were taken before and after of gutters and there is no damage present. The contract on this job was signed as retail. Meaning half down on signing and remainder paid upon completion. The completion paperwork was signed on 7/25 and Garcia has yet to be paid the remainder of the contract total. Because this job was not signed as an insurance contract, Garcia requires the remainder of the balance to be paid on completion due to customer opting to handle their own insurance. Customer's remaining balance is $9482.87 based on signed contract.
