I signed a contract with **** ******* of One Planet Solar on June 18, 2024 to have 14 of my existing solar panels upgraded (replaced). The work was supposed to begin immediately and be completed in a few days. I paid Mr. ******* half of the cost to get started ($5,100). And since I was going to be traveling when the work was scheduled to be done, I wrote him a post dated check for the rest ($5,145) to be deposited after the work was completed and he sent pictures of the finished job. When I returned home a few weeks later, the job had not been started and the post dated check had been cashed. I called him about this and he said it was an oversight by his secretary but the work would be completed in the next couple of weeks. I have called and sent numerous messages since then. He has given me dates that he would start the job at least 10 times since then. I've arranged my schedule to be present when he was scheduled to start the job. He has not shown up or called for a reschedule on any date he has given me since June 2024. I'm not sure that he ever intended to show up at all. I've only gotten responses from him after initiating contact. In effect, he has just taken my money as a no fee loan and I've gotten nothing for my $10,245 as yet.Customer Answer

The business owner contacted me on Feb 10th by text message. He was scheduled to come out but hasn't made it yet. He did update me and reschedule 3 times due to family health problems and vehicle issues. He did send pictures of his truck being towed to the shop and the repair estimate... I contracted on June 19 to get solar panels on my home. tHEY WERE TO BE INSTALLED BY jULY 19,24. Contractor has had more excuses than Carter has pills as to why he has not completed project. I gave him $10,000.00 i June and as of yet I do not have nay panels installed on my house. Part of the contract was to relocate some panels on my barn and that has been done and in so doing caused $2500.00 worth of damage to my roof. We chose One Planet Solar and Wind and paid for the package per the attached contract in December 2023. We were told it would be complete in Jan 2024. Since then they installed the panels but not the equipment needed to collect the solar and generate electricity so the panels are useless. We also purchased battery backup system per the contract and have not received that either. They also came out recently to trench for the electric cables and in doing so busted our existing septic line so that we needed to pay a plumber to repair it. I made it clear that this system was needed by Spring so I can afford the electric needed for air conditioning and other equipment because I have medical conditions requiring them but my electric bill has been to high. I have just this week been told by our rep (**** *******) that his electrician (****) is only available for 2 more weeks.. I am concerned they are pushing our job until they no longer have an electrician to accomplish it. I asked to at least let me pick up the equipment we purchased but **** declined. I have left many voicemails-* ***** ******** they do not answer their phones and they do not return calls. **** will answer to texts only. I understand Mr. ******** frustration and I apologize for difficulty in reaching me. My office manager who is pregnant ended up taking her leave a lot earlier than expected at the same time I was short install techs, so my old butt has been helping on roofs. I am working to be better at calling folks back. We have the 16 solar panels installed and the wire ran underground back to his house to connect to the sol ark and batteries. As with a few of my battery related installs, we are behind due to the availability of the trained and certified electrician, but his installation is scheduled for completion this week of June 17th. I am discounting the system by $500 and will reimburse him for the lost production from the delay.Customer Answer

We were waiting to be able to send both the current electrician and the new one that is training and last week didn't work out unfortunately. The current electrician and a helper worked all day today there to get it ready for the batteries which will be installed by 6-28-24.Customer Answer

We have been in communication with Mr. ****** and recently increased the compensation from the delay to $1,250 along with the $798 that we calculated was the lost production from the delay. Everything is done except for the final battery installation that requires a certified electrician for the warranty to be valid. I contracted with One Planet Solar and Wind LLC owned by ******* ******* to install a 9.84 KW solar energy system with 30kwh batter back up and 15KW Sola Ark inverter on 3/22/23. The job was to be started on 4/17/23 and completed on 4/26/23. I paid $16,274.50 on 3/22/23 when the contract was signed and another $10,000 on 1/10/24 in order to get the job completed. A new contract was done on 10/26/23 with a $1,000.00 delay penalty and with an additional $500.00 per week penalty until the job was completed if not done by 11/13/24. At this point Mr. ******* owes me $5,225.50 refund based on the new contract and that is IF the job is completed by 4/13/24. As shown by the included time line of communication this contractor has made excuse after excuse for not completing the job and has often not communicated at all until I repeatedly text/called him. There have literally been OVER 50 delays in completing the job. I still do not have my batteries or inverter installed. I also found out another customer was insisting on a $10,000.00 refund for his job not being completed when MR. ******* asked me for an additional $10,000.00 for purchasing the batteries that were supposed to have already been purchased 8.5 months prior. At this point I want my job completed. The SolArk 15K inverter installed, the 30KWH battery bank installed. All of the equipment properly commissioned and inspected and legally completed and properly running and I want the $5,225.50 Mr. ******* owes me now.Business Response

We never like installations behind schedule because it costs us money from the discounts, we give the customer but unfortunately the 10yr warranties for the lithium batteries and the sol ark require a master electrician certified and mine had some availability issues this year. We have all the solar panels installed on a ground mount, wire ran underground to the shop, disconnects installed so it is ready for the final components. The $10,000 discount I gave another customer has nothing to do with the additional money paid by Ms. **********, but I can see why she would think that. The electrician is back to work on all my battery backup systems, and we expect to be finished with hers by 6-21-24.Customer Answer

The install still has not been completed as of 6/26/24. Mr ******** told me again on 6/25/24 that the job will be completed this week. I will let you k ow if it does actually get completed but so far it has not been completed

I don't like any installs to run behind schedule and my company will always do the right thing for the customer which is what we are doing with this installation. We have upgraded Ms. ***********s batteries to the Home Grid batteries which is an $11,000 upgrade AND I am discounting the system by $1,594 along with reimbursing $3,180 in lost solar production from the delay. I am going to walk away from this install knowing that they got a much better solar system at a lower price. We are returning the original batteries and replacing them with the upgraded Home Grid. Due to this change process, the installation will be delayed a little longer but completed by next Friday or 8-2-24.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. We signed a new contract. He is significantly upgrading my battery system and is supposed to have the job done by 8/2. If not done by then he has a $500.00 per week penalty until it is completed.

I tried to contact the owner **** *******, multiple times between March 2023 and July 2023 about replacing parts for solar panels. He refused to answer the phone or get back in contact with me and then when he finally did in June of 2023 he said he would within a week to replace the part and never showed up. Then when I tried to continue to contact him he again did not answer my phone calls. Finally in the end of July 2023, I gave up and told him I would handle the situation myself. Which he became irate and used profanities and excuses and downgraded competitors saying they would be out of business by the end of the year. All in all, he did not handle the situation professionally. From the looks of his reviews over the past 6 years this isn’t anything new.Customer Answer

I own a system installed by One Planet Solar. The system stopped working in July 2022. I contacted them to get it fixed and was given some guidance on possible issues and how to resolve them. After following the guidance the system is still not working. I called again and was disconnected, after several more attempts all calls went to voice mail and I never received a return call. As I am disabled I am not able to do anything on the roof of the house. All I want is for my warranty to be honored and system fixed.Business Response

I reached out to Mr. ***** today and apologized for not getting back to him sooner. Unfortunately, we have been short staffed like every business in 2022. The monitor that connects his system to the internet stopped working so the production wasn't visible online like in the past. I texted him the link and emailed the link to purchase a new one since it was out of warranty. The solar panels and the microinverters still have 16yrs left on their parts warranty so I told him to let me know when his replacement monitor arrives and is connected to the internet, and I would look to see if any of the panels or microinverters need changed out. If there are any bad ones, I told him I would process the warranties and would send my techs the almost 2hr drive there and back at NO charge to replace them as an apology for not getting back to him sooner.
