Not happy with the company’s professionalism they didn’t leave any extra packs of shingles that I paid for a lot of people in my neighborhood have replaced their roof and got the extra material obviously pelican roof plans to resell it to someone else poor business practice

If you are dreading the thought of having to replace your roof, help is on the way if you call Pelican Roofing. I was referred to Pelican when I was at the point of not knowing where to go, or how to go about beginning the process.
I made a phone call to Pelican Roofing, and spoke with Alan Langley. In our interview Alan walked me through every step of the physical process of roof replacement. Alan then did an onsite inspection of the roof and provided information to what he saw and the described the need for which work should be done.
Alan said they would file the claim with my insurance company, work closely with them throughout the process. They would provide all pictures and paperwork that I would normally have to do on my own. The configuration of my roof presented more than a straightforward placement and there was much information required from the City, which the insurance company needed. Alan never lost patience with the time and work to bring this about, even when I did. Alan worked tirelessly, and knowledgeably from start to finish.
Finally, approval was given and Chad ******** gathered his team of workers and began to "dress" the area with cloths to catch all the debris that would have to be thrown about. When an issue made it necessary to make minor repairs before the laying the shingles, Chad and his team worked that problem without loss of time or additional expense. Work was done in less than I expected, which finished about mid-afternoon. Chad organized all of the cleanup, including the debris that the wind scattered out of the cloths.
If you are reading this and see it is an ad- it is. You could not do better than to talk with Alan at Pelican Roofing and work with him and his team.

1 starI was asked to sign an agreement that only insured that I would go with them if the insurance approved payment. I was not told there would be a 10% charge, he was very slick in getting me to sign but nevertheless I signed. I was not told that I would not have an adequate selection of colors. The first and only sample he brought had six options, 1 was black onyx, 4 were shades of charcoal gray, & 1 was tanish/\brownish so I selected that 1. As soon as I chose that 1 he said they don't offer that in this area. I told him I was not going with any of the black/dark colors as I would not be happy with that. So he comes up with a color which had singles but no capping, it would have to be a different color, even sent me colors I could mix & match. At that point, I believed he was trying to sell me left over materials from other jobs. It's the only thing that made since so I decided I was going to go another direction. Then he sent me another shingle I could get which was a dark brown (didn't really like it) so I asked if it was only option, he said yes, he even told me he got a good price b/c it wasn't a good seller & they were trying to get rid of it. When he realized I wasn't going for it, then he brought up the 10 percent of the agreement. It's the first I heard of it. He told me it was my only options (colors), then his manager called me offering me to go in to their office, that they had any color I could possibly want. Well yes that pissed me off. Why was I told this was my only options when you have all these colors? I spoke to an attorney & was told there had to be a meeting of the minds, which was to agree on the product, which we clearly did not. They sent me an invoice for $1,199 which is over the 10 percent of their estimate. I will be going o court with them. Anyone want to join me?Review fromMartha R

1 starDon’t trust them. Please don’t let them trick you into signing anything. They came to my house after a hail storm and wanted me to sign this paper, saying that it was just to allow them to look at my roof. Stupid me, I thought it was something to protect my interests. They tout that they are a company built on integrity and I thought they were really trying to help me. I’m a veteran and I guess I want to believe all people are like the ones I served with. I didn’t find out until later that it was designed to trap me. It used ambiguous abbreviations that are not defined and referenced statues from other states in an effort to stack the deck in their favor and create fear. It referenced stuff printed on the back which I was not even provided with. I didn’t realize what that paper actually was until they emailed me an invoice after I decided that I was not comfortable and needed to talk to some other people.
They only seemed interested in making sure I sign the insurance check over to them right away. Once I started doing more research, I found that they had not been honest with me on a number of things.
When I got other quotes I realized how bad Pelican really was. All the other contractors showed up with their contractors license, proof of liability insurance and proof of workers’ compensation coverage. None of them tried to get me to sign anything up front. They all took a lot of time explaining what they offered and giving me several options. I found that I am actually able to get a much more upgraded roof than what I was led to believe for the amount I got from insurance. Night and day from Pelican which did not do any of that or provide any documents beyond that single piece of paper.
Do yourself a favor and get multiple quotes. If anyone tries to get you to sign something before they even provide anything alarm bells should go off. Reputable contractors won’t try to lock you in before they even do any work. They will try to earn your business.Review fromRebecca G
