      ********* This company is absolutely a joke! My husband and I were out having dinner, on June 16, 2022, a 16-year-old girl backed up and rear-ended our newly purchased vehicle. Everything was appropriately processed and the following day I contacted Liberty Mutual to file our claim! They assigned us to a claim representative and the manipulations started. First, They said they were waiting on a police report for over 2 1/2 weeks, I had to purchase a report to start the process, then he, sends me an email, after, I asked him to show me where he had requested to receive the information on the case, it never happen, then I, again had to contact him, he then sent something to their insurance company, now I receive an email stating that it's my responsibility to reach out to them and make a claim for my truck, unless I wanted to use my Safeco, and included my ****** deductible and they would move forward with fixing our vehicle, they would "attempt" to reimburse us! I've never in my life had to work on my own insurance claim, and he closed the case out not once but twice, saying it was a temporary close! I'm interested in the process of suing them for misrepresenting our insurance policy.

      I got a letter in the mail from my university that had linked up with Liberty Mutual. In the letter it said since I was an alumni I could save money. I went on Liberty Mutual's site to get a free quote and see if it would be worth it to change (from Geico). Everything was looking good and I was going to have Liberty Mutual start insurance in August (it's was July 14th), but they wanted a payment of $156 that day. Well, it was Thursday and I didn't have that much in my account, so I just closed out without putting any payment/account numbers in. Sunday I went through everything again and this time I put my card numbers in, but then when I was looking at the documents to sign they weren't going to be covering me nearly at all - no wonder it was cheaper than Geico. I wouldn't have complete coverage. So, I didn't sign anything. I look at my account and I was charged $156 on the 14th (the day I didn't put bank info in) and again on Sunday the 17th. I called to cancel because my trust was gone. They said they could refund me the Sunday 17th payment, but didn't have any record that I was charged on the 14th...because when I was charged on the 14th I didn't even have an account then! It might have just been a blip because I don't know how this could happen, but now I have to work with my bank to get refunded. Everything about this interaction was terrible. It feels more like a scam operation than an actual company. Beware!

      If I could give a negative star review, it still wouldnt be low enough. I bundled my home and auto insurance on the same day. They told me to cancel my auto insurance immediately. I did so, and the following week I was pulled over for a simple tail light being out. The officer was nice and just asked for my license, registration and **********************. I handed him the first two and proceeded to pull up my insurance on my phone. He was the one that noticed that my insurance hadnt started yet! This was a week after I had started my insurance! I called the company and explained what had happened expecting them to fix it, while looking at my homeowners contract stating it started a week before. I explained it to the agent and the agent was surprised also. She put me on hold for a moment and came back with sorry sir, there is nothing I can do about it. In the last 15 years Ive never had a gap in insurance and not only do I have one now, I have to pay for a non-insurance ticket and I have to stay with them for 6 months before I can find a more professional company. Stay away from this company. Trust me.

      I was a loyal customer for over 5 years. No tickets, wrecks, or claims. When my daughter got her own policy, mine went up by $30.00. Ok, I understand that. From there, I got letters in the mail threatening to increase my premium if I did not send them proof of owning my home. My home had nothing to do with my auto policy. When I called them about the letter, the rep told me it was them needing proof of my life insurance policies. What? This should have nothing to do with my policy. (Note, I was told the call with them was being recorded by both representatives I spoke with.) From there it got worse. I had to get a new vehicle and changed my policy. Full coverage increased my insurance **** to more than my monthly car payment. I stayed at that moment because I needed to be able to take possession of my SUV. Then I get a call from the dealership because the *** number on my proof of insurance was 1 number off and it needed to be changed. The rep did this, and my monthly **** went up an additional $180. Now the monthly **** is almost $600. When I tried to get the rep to explain it to me, I was told "that's just how it is. You should have been paying that all along". I had myself a new company in <1 hour and policy canceled. They are still trying to **** me. Save yourself the headache. This company has changed in 2022 and not for the better.

      Ive had a terrible experience with communication and receiving feedback on the status of a home owners claim. Ive left multiple voicemail messages and eventually I had to reach out to his boss. I didnt even get a confirmation email until asking about it a week later. I do not recommend State Auto. Im sure Ill be moving on to USAA after this disaster. You pay your insurance company thousands of dollars to be insured and then you finally have a claim and get treated like dog c***

      Had homeowners insurance with Liberty Mutual for decades only to have them cancel it with no heads up. They are using the flimsy excuse of missing a payment of $90 when in fact I had autopay. So I took care of the $90, but now to reinstate the insurance theyve jacked the price up approximately five times the previous rate. The very concept of insurance companies should be outlawed if they arent going to be regulated.

      I was quoted for a monthly rate and then a few days later when I was ready to purchase my insurance I was told that I had to purchase the 6 months upfront first. Typical Bait and Switch.
