      I was very disappointed in Cengage Unlimited as a product. It is so slow and un-user friendly. It takes way to long to navigate through the pages of the textbook. For a company that want's to turn textbooks as a service into a model, Cengage sure is doing it very poorly. What is the point of having these altered pages of the textbook instead of just having the full actually pages of the textbook available to the user? To top it all off when I tried to refund it via customer service it was a **********.

      I made and paid for two cengage unlimited accounts last semester. I combined the two accounts, but I never requested a refund for the one I paid for but did not use. Life got busy, and I waited past the time I could ask for a refund. The representative I spoke to explained everything to me and was very polite. We were able to figure out my situation in the end. I appreciate how everything was explained to me in a polite, clear way and how my situation was handled. They were kind enough to work with me, even though I made a mistake in how/when I contacted them about the double payment.

      Cengage / MindTap is extremely poor performing, and their representatives / management are on-par with their product. I have taken 2 exams so far, and there have been mid-system freezes during both. I was on different computers, at different locations. One of them was my work, which manufactures wifi-based IT if there was a Wi-Fi failure at work, there would have been a cross-departmental uproar. Fortunately, I recorded the incident with my phone, illustrating how all other websites/cloud based portals were working, so they couldnt blame my Wi-Fi. Then, Im not joking the cengage rep said I must have walked away from the exam for over 2 hours, and since it was timed, it was my fault for walking away. Seriously, that was the first troubleshooting tip I received. I asked to speak to management. The first manager said it was against protocol to let me back in to finish the exam- even though I had 1.5hrs within the testing window remaining. He then stated the system "isn't perfectly" compatible with internet explorer, so I should use Chrome next time. I asked why they dont advise people to avoid Explorer?? His response, in summary - "Because it is compatible some of the time"helpful. Exam #2 and the same cengage server issue. This time I was in Chrome (as recommended) and I cleared all browsing history/cookies/cache 3 days earlier. I called again - **** management incompetence, another email to my professor asking to me reopen the test, and another 3 days of messing around. Wifi technology for students needs to be reliable - this platform doesnt offer that reliability, and their management team is incapable of critical thought.

      Got charged $200 for a textbook rental I opened maybe 3 times all semester. I completely forgot it was a rental, and realized only when I was saw the charge. Checked my email, no email. When I called in to refute the charge and get to the bottom of it, I was told they dont send courtesy emails because the rental information is available online, which the representative had to direct me how to find, not easily available. I was told I could send it back and receive a refund, but because it was already charged, I would have to follow the *** tracking and call back in when it was received in order to get a refund. I unfortunately called just after the business hours on a Friday, but the website said 24/7 chat support. The support was a robot which offered no help besides FAQ links, and could only tell me that no agents were available and to come back during business hours. I called in Sunday during business hours, got the refund started called back in Friday to speak to a supervisor as I still did not receive the refund. They said it was never invoiced on their end so they would push it along. A full week after I called to start the refund process, I still have not been refunded. It has been nearly 3 weeks without resolve.

      Hello, Rental customers are sent reminder notices via email that their rental due date is approaching at the 14, 7, and 2-day marker. Unfortunately, sometimes these emails can be caught up in spam filters. Customers are prompted to print the label from Cengage.com to make their return via **** Once the rental due date lapses, we have built in a few weeks of ***** before anyone is billed for their non returned rental. Due to contact not being made before this ***** ****** expired, we were unable to intervene before the purchase kicked in. We understand sometimes these things happen and are always willing to further assist. In your case, it was to make an accommodation of accepting the late return of your rental when you had reached out on 6/29/22. Once the rental was received back in the warehouse on 7/6/22, it was scanned in, and the reversal refund was processed on 7/10/22. Refunds do take **** business days before reflecting on a statement. Your refund was successfully received to your statement on 7/15/22.
