I contacted this business on 4 separate occasions to transfer a race. There was a tech issue that that occurred on their site. They ignored a phone call and three emails, so I disputed the credit card charges. After I disputed the credit card charges, they finally responded to my emails asking that a race be transferred. By this time, I had asked for a refund, because they were not communicating or willing to resolve the issue on their site that would allow me to transfer the race. They offered to transfer, but only after they had been notified that the charges were disputed. It's incredibly dishonest, and they denied the credit card dispute. This is not an honest company, and they only respond when a customer seek their money back.Customer Answer

I "volunteered" for this company. I quote volunteer because that's what the ad was categorized under and the shirts they gave us stated VOLUNTEER on them. They said they would pay me $117 for the day but their bank wouldn't cash the check for me. I have been trying to get them to pay me since December 14, 2024. The company and I have emailed each other 45 times with nothing coming out of it. I want you to put pressure for them to finally pay me please. On September 27, 2024, we helped Spartan Race with a mechanical issue on their trailer after they hosted a Spartan Race in the *******************. They were aware of how much our mobile services were and we were told that we would be paid by credit card. After the service was completed, we were told that the bill was sent to AP and it has been more than 30 days and we still not have received payment. We have emailed customer service multiple times and ********* is supposed to send payment and we are not getting any word on the status of payment from Spartan Race at all. They are dodging us and ruining a relationship with us for future Spartan Races in the ****************************. Shame on them!Initial Complaint

I signed up for a tough mudder race on sept 21. The website uses pressure tactics, such as a countdown to increased prices, to pressure one to sign up and commit early. **** also apply hidden fees at checkout that are required to sign up. The event fee is advertised as $130. Additional mandatory fees: $12 parking and bag drop fee and $14 administrative fee. On Oct 25 Toughmudder cancelled the event I signed up for citing "logistical challenges" and sent an offer for a voucher to a different event . My friends and I had previously decided that this was an inconvenient location, it is 2 hours away in ******************. It would be logistically much more difficult to attend, so we chose the ************* location. Because I did not want to attend the los angeles event I requested a refund on Oct 25 and Oct 30 by email with no response. On Oct 31 I submitted another request through the contact form on their website. I finally received a reply on Nov 5 declining my request and offering me a voucher to another event. I had 2 additional requests and refusals to refund on the email chain on the same day. On 10/14 I purchased 2 tickets from Groupon for the spartan race in *************** for 12/7/24. After purchasing the tickets the online registration was not working, I tried calling and they do not have a working number so I emailed them. After 24 hours of silence I messaged them on ******** and managed to get a response and after 2 hours of messaging they could not figure out the issue and promised to email me with a resolution. That resolution never came so day 3 now I am messaging them again and they are going in circles with the same trouble shooting from the day before. Eventually I give up because they stop responding and try to return the tickets on Groupon which promised a 3 day refund guarantee. ******* which also doesnt have a working day phone number says they have to reach out to Spartan race because these tickets are now not refundable per their policy even though they advertise there is and they reply an hour later that Spartan race verified their registration IS WORKING, I try again and it is of course not working. I had no choice but to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I will be filing a claim with the court if need be.Customer Answer

Ive tried many times to get into contact with Spartan race I bought some shoes from them on September 1st through the website , Ive emailed them at least 5 times, some one got back to me but has yet to email Me back to resolve my problem , my order was out of stock so I emailed them what I wanted and unfortunately no one has emailed me back , my last received email from them was September 13, their website states 5-7 business days for delivery, its been over 10 business days and it seems like to me that they dont care based on the frequency of emails Ive received , I just want my item but Im having no luck by emailing them , and they dont have a customer support numberInitial Complaint

I am one of Spartan's contractors. I covered 3 events this past June - ********, ********** and Whitewater Trail. All of these events have invoices that are now over due (based on NET 60 terms). I have not seen payments for any of them - the oldest is going on 90 days soon. I have sent multiple messages to the accounts payable and have not received any kind of response to them in in over a week. Normally, I'd get my supervisor involved, but he sent me a text last week to inform me that he's been laid off. So, I don't have another point of contact for the work I do for Spartan. And everyone else I've messaged has been radio silent. I also sent a message to the generic ******************************** with no response.I am supposed to cover an event this weekend. I don't feel like I can do that based on the lack of communication and the lack of payment thus far. I love that event (I've covered it many years now), and it would be a disappointment to not work it this weekend... but I need to have some kind of conversation with somebody to assist me with this payroll issue.Initial Complaint

I paid for a ticket for my son to participate in their Beast race in **** on July 20, 2024. After I purchased the ticket they changed their policy to only allow participants 16 and older. My son is 15 so they canceled his ticket. They have refused to provide a refund. They provided a "coupon" for a free ticket to another race in 2024, but my son will not be 16 by the end of the year so he can't participate in a beast before it expires. Furthermore, we do not have time or money to travel to another Spartan event before the end of the year. We paid for a ticket for the beast race taking place on July 20, 2024, they did not provide what they were paid to provide and are refusing to reimburse us our money.Initial Complaint

Dear BBB,Hello, my name is ******************* and I was a recent participant in the Spartan 5K race held in ******, ** on 5/19/24. On the site of the event, all roads, including parking, were extremely ****** bumpy, and unstable. This terrain caused damages to my car, totaling a few thousand dollars. Currently, there seems to be more problems rising that is not listed on the image attached below. I drove very carefully and slowly, but despite my efforts, the roads were heavily bumpy and unpredictable for my sedan to safely get in and out with no damage. Although you could say it was the drivers fault as not all cars were damaged, I believe it is unfair to blame only the driver, as the terrain should could have been handled much better, such as by at least putting signs. I contacted Spartan directly, but they emailed back saying because it wasnt on the event itself, they cannot compensate. However, I believe the event parking, which is held just outside the actual course, is part of the event as there were spartan signs even far before these dangerous roads. I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. This event was paid for then Spartan canceled the event. They refuse to provide me a refund.
