Good luck ever getting your money out of this company. I have been working since October 2023 to transfer the stocks to my married name. 6 certified letters containing personal identifiable information have been sent. The first time i filled out the paperwork with the representative on the phone. I went got a medallion stamp, got it notarized, sent it with a tracking number and a check to transfer my holdings to myself. They cashed the check, bought unauthorized shared under my maiden name. This invalidated ALL of my paperwork but i didn't know that, The letter just stated the number of shares didn't match. I thought it was due to dividends. The phone representative said to resubmit the PAPERWORK. So I did. about 20 days later i get a letter stating they bought stock, I get a 2nd denial letter that i didn't include the transfer fee, resubmit a 3rd time. get another denial letter that they didn't have my original birth certificate and that a certified copy didn't work. Sent in paperwork 4th time with an original birth certificate. Get a letter of denial that due to the date of the original request (more than 90 days) i was being denied and needed to resubmit with this new form. Send in 5th time, get letter of denial stating they need my birth certificate - they still have my original birth certificate as they have not sent it back. I am on hold now speaking to a manager and she informed me that they DO NOT send back documents. This was never stated anywhere. So now I get the pleasure of paying $15-$25 to get an "original copy" of my birth certificate. So far I have spend $170.35 in shipping, Purchased $106 worth of stock I didn't ask for or want, and will have to pay another minimum $49.07. At this point I'm over it, I feel i have appropriate grounds to stand on for a lawsuit for misappropriation of funds.

Trying to get lost certificates replaced has taken 1.5 years and counting for a loved one that has passed. They have 3 original death certificates and all supporting paperwork. Yet after transfering the original computer shares they continue to tell me they don't have a death certificate. It was sent with a ck to replace the lost certificates which they cashed, but magically they again don't have the death certificate.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. After my husband died I called Computershare 20 times over 4 months and still could not adjust the cost basis of the stocks we had to my husband's date of death. Whenever I called, the persons accent was difficult to understand, they didnt listen to me, the line was hard to hear and echoed. Finally I insisted on speaking to a supervisor and was told to stay by the phone for a call back. The call came four days later. To say that this company is incompetent is an understatement. I never got my issue resolved by them and was blocked repeatedly.

Trying to deal with my deceased father's stock has been a nightmare. The process is very broken, no communication, no direction of process, poor customer service response. Still keeping his money/stocks after 3 full months. They do NO communication except by mail. No online process, no emails, no confirmation of receipt of any information that is sent, etc. I think they count on you giving up or forgetting about the claim so they can keep your loved one's money/stock. Poor stock portfolio results also. Not a good investment company. Ameriprise and ******* ***** far exceed in all aspects.

As the folks indicate below, I would have selected zero if possible. I have been trying for 2 years to transfer my deceased Mother's accounts to my sisters and me. I have experienced the exact same problems listed below times 3. I would love to know how to shut these folks down.

I routinely handle overly-complex paperwork and procedures as part of my job. Computershare's issue is not they make things "too hard" to get done. This company literally makes accomplishing things impossible based on the procedures they have in place. This company advises you to contact them via email inquiry, but then will respond without answering your question(s). The *** and self-help will advise you to "Contact the Numbers Below" then literally have nothing listed. Finally, if you call in and use the automated system, it goes in circles without providing any help. If you try to leave the automated phone system to speak with a representative, it will be someone from another country who barely speaks English that will immediately transfer you back to the beginning of the automated phone system. If the value of my stocks with them were not so low, I would have filed suit against this company for bad faith business practices.

I was locked out of my online account because of too many attempts with incorrect security question answers. This is concerning as the answer was correct. Regardless, I have sent multiple emails with no reply from the company. I then attempted to call to resolve the issue. Every time I called, I was either not able to hear or understand the representative and was hung up on, or I would give all of my information to the representative only to be transferred back to the main menu and start all over. Somehow I cannot access my own stock holdings. For multiple weeks! This company makes it extremely difficult to contact anyone, and when you finally do get a hold of someone, you get no where. All while they ask for and have all of your personal information and stock holdings.

The WORST EVER, do not do business with this hack of a company. I have been trying to access my account for over two weeks and have yet to receive the temporary password in the mail. The customer service is atrocious. The representatives do not seem to be based in *****************. I asked for a supervisor and was denied. They told me none were available. What company doesn't have a supervisor available if a situation escalates? Once I access my account, I will close it.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Tried to get information on shares I acquired as a result of a recent merger, but ******* (who spoke marginal English) was unable/unwilling to help much even though she verified the shares are there. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but after holding for 15+ minutes, I hung up.

I don't even want to give them one star!! My mother passed away and I am her representative. I am an accountant and have dealt with documents my whole life. This company has been totallly incompetent to work with. I provided everything they asked for then I received a letter a month later that they need the same thing again. I called and they said I was right and they already had the information. Then when they divided the shares as I instructed between my sisters and I they transferred my shares to someone else and lost them. I had to call to get them to find them. Now I sent a sale all shares form a month ago. I called today and they still hadn't sold the shares and said they will sell them tomorrow. If I hadn't called it would have never been acted on. I will avoid business with this company at all costs!!! The stock price has dropped and they are responsible for the three month delay. What is a person's recourse or is this just allowed in our country? Corrupt Business!
