I was charged a transaction after multiple attempts of cancelling my class. Originally called to cancelled this class and mailed a letter requesting this as well. Spoke with ****. A few weeks later they charged me the whole fee. When I called again asking them to cancel that transaction I was told they did not received a letter. I resent the letter certified. I called again to let them know and they told me they refuse to refund my money since they "did not receive a letter"

**** was aware of our withdrawal policy as noted by his signature in the student handbook signed on 10/20/2022. Please see attachment. The timeline of communication with the student is as follows.

Initial enrollment was on10/18/22 into 1/3-2/11/2023 Worcester Fast Track
The student was a No Call/No Show for that class on 1/3/2023.

Transferred to another course on 7/13/2023 into the 8/15/2023 Worcester Fast Track.
We automatic take the tuition payment on 8/10/2023 as outlined in the application.
**** called on 8/10/23 to withdraw/drop out. **** then explained to him that since we never received a withdrawal letter he was still enrolled in the course and also since this was a transfer he was not eligible for a refund as outlined in our handbook. This was explained to both **** and his girlfriend on 8/10/2023 on Ext 24 at 9 am, 9:11 am, and 9:20 am.  The first letter was allegedly mailed on 7/14/2023 they did not have the tracking number available and no letter was received until after the course start date making him ineligible for a refund. Certified letter was not received until 8/14/2023.

No emails were received, no withdrawal letters other than the one rec'd on 8/14/23.

I enrolled in an EMT course at National EMS Institute. I was charged $200 for a practical exam that I am no longer able to take because of a low course grade. I am not receiving the service of taking the exam, so I should not have to pay the $200 exam fee.

Sequoia Maitland knew the refund policies of National EMS Institute. They are clearly stated in the attached documentation with her signature on it. Sequoia was sent the attached email on Monday 6/12, a full week before the fee was due.  She had the opportunity to change the card on file she chose not to. The reminder email reiterates that the fee is non-refundable.

If Sequoia chooses to try again and retake the course we will be happy to apply this fee to the exam with her new course.  She does have the option to retake the course for a $250 transfer fee.  National EMS Institute would then apply the funds paid for the first class to the new class.  If she would like to take advantage of this transfer option she simply has to reach out to ********************  She has until June **** to transfer.  We realize that is both disappointing and unfortunate when a student does not pass or complete the course.  For these reasons, we do offer them the option to retake the course at any time during the next year.

All in all, since our policies clearly are defined and it was known ahead of time that the exam fee would not be refunded whether or not the student passes or not, we will not be granting a refund for these funds.
