I noticed there was $39.41 being taken out of my checking account number that just said Check.I called my bank and asked them what it was and they told me it was Northshore Publishing. I then asked them what I could do and they told me I had to open a new account to stop them from taking out money from my account. I found out it was for the TV Guide that I canceled three years ago because it was to much money. I called and spoke to someone and they said they would call back but didn't. I then called again and told them to refund my money and the same gentleman said he would call me back. I again didn't receive a call back. I don't know what to do. They are charging me for the TV Guide that I don't receive and all I want is my money back.Business Response

On 1/9/2025 and 3/4/2025 an amount of $39.41 was taken from my checking account, I assume for TV Guide, even though I had NOT renewed my subscription. I had received a call asking if I wished to renew and I said NO. My current subscription runs until 18oct27 and I DO NOT wish to extend it. This subscription was set by TV Guide directly and NOT through North shore publishing. Please refund the two payments of $39.41 erroneously taken from my account and CEASE to continue debiting my accountInitial Complaint

A few weeks ago I found out that my father has been charged $39.41 for over six months for TV guide from a fraudulent place called North Shore publishing. Then to make matters even worse these people have the audacity to call here demanding payment because I canceled the card. Mind you I canceled this card after I found that we were being charged $39.41 for well over six months. Then she again has the ignorance to say that its my last payment of $39.41. Which is a lie from the scumbags! Who the h*** pays over $200 for a two year subscription of TV Guide! ? These people need to be in jailInitial Complaint

My mother received an invoice for $78.82 from Northshore Publishers Service for a TV *************** I handle her finances now as she is 94 and suffering from short-term ***********. I'm not sure if she renewed it or if it automatically renews if you don't cancel it. I called and spoke with a gentleman, I told him she would like to cancel the order. He rudely told me she had just renewed it in June 2024. He stated we would need to pay for the remaining balance and cancel it next June. I thought the payment of $39.41 was for a year which it is not. There are three payments totaling $118,25. That's extremely high for a TV *************** I explained she doesn't need it now living with me, I get TV Guide listings for free over the internet. After reading the many complaints this company has, I understand why he wouldn't honor my request to cancel it. Please have this order canceled with no balance due.Customer Answer

3/13/2024 Called on phone by lady who said my debit card did not go through for renewal of TV Guide. I had just received a new debit card from Bank a few weeks ago so I thought it was legit because my old debit card was frozen due to fraud. She said she needed the new debit card no. Unfortunately I gave it to her. I then contacted TV Guide directly and found out I had been scammed. I froze my new card immediately, feeling really stupid. The lady's name was ****** and her phone no. was **************. Northshore Publishing should be shut down.Customer Answer

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. I guess I didn't expect to after reading the BBB complaints about this company preying on so many older people with TV Guide subscription renewals. $39.41 was mentioned as the monthly amount they take from a lot of people who complained. My ************ is handling it from their end to block future payments from our checking account.Initial Complaint

This company continues to steal $39.41 whenever they want from both my checking and credit card accounts purporting to be payments for subscriptions to magazines that I either subscribe to directly or never receive. I cannot contact them directly and they do not respond to phone calls and emails. Their business is fraudulent as is evidenced by multiple complaints here on the BBB website and elsewhere. They must be forced to stop this theft!!Customer Answer
