2 starsThe install process was ok and moved fairly slowly but overall it wasnt extreme. The issue with them is trying to get service. I checked my app and noticed my solar system had been down for a few days. I would have thought they would have notified me since they are suppose to monitor the system. I went outside and was able to communicate with the inverter so that seemed ok. Thats when I noticed that the metal conduit that houses the wiring from the roof had a big split in it and rust all over my house. I called them on a Friday no answer. Monday afternoon still hadnt heard from them called them again. They said they would look into it. They texted me that day to say someone would have to come out. Its been 10 days now and nobody has even called to schedule an appointment. So needless to say system has been offline for over two weeks and not producing any power. I get it no money in the repair so probably doing installs. If I known the service would be so bad I would have stayed clear of this company.Review fromCandice F

This company SUMMIT ENERGY is not what the reviews state. I signed a contract and read it and saw deposit was non refundable, questioned was told thats just a formality at signing. I was in a contract and it was turned over to the commercial department and that being said ******* was not returned after almost 2 years of being given the go around saying all parties involved Re; City, Electrical Inspector, the utilities company were all on board with project till the final permitting was required and the utility ** was stating a major upgrade was needed to proceed. I was told this originally then was reviewed by there team again and it was a go till final permits were required. I was deceived at the project inception and was given the go around for almost two years and was never refunded my $$$ large Deposit because they state it is because it a commercial project. It was never relayed to me at signing.

We installed a home solar system in *******, ** with Summit Energy. The entire process was very smooth, we also replaced our roof thru their roofing partner as part of the project. The entire project took less than 2 months from start to finish and we are now producing our own energy. My wife and I did a lot of research and comparison shopping between different solar providers in MA and Summit stood out in terms of quality and cost.Summit Energy

I would give no stars if possible! For anyone seeking solar system this would be the last company I would call. They will deceive you , tell you your payment on the system will be less than your existing electrical bill. Our system was installed (***** kw ac system according to written contract) when in reality I have a 15kw system , a5 kw and a 10kw inverter mounted on my house. We have tried attorney general which is a source I have been told is useless if they have to put any effort into the complaint. I am looking for anyone else that has similar issues as mine so we can take this to a news media source , false promises undersized system or any other deficiencies in a system installed by Summit Energy. If these complaints are familiar please add a complaint I will check in periodically to look for complaints and connect with you and we can take to another level. These companies have no agency to check whether or not the system is the one in the contract!Summit Energy

We apologize for any confusion during the initial design, we used the utility bill* provided to calculate your annual consumption, and design a system based on your energy needs. The utility bill shows an annual consumption of 21,385kWh. Our engineering team designed a 19.08kW DC system with an estimated output of 21,132kWh per year.
The system size is calculated by the number of panels multiplied by the wattage of each panel. In this case, 53 x 360W = 19080W or 19.08kW. Photovoltaic cells however, produce DC (Direct Current) energy, and for it to be usable, it needs to be converted to AC (Alternating Current). We installed two inverters, one 10,000W and one 5,000W, totalling a 15,000W AC inverter for the 19080W DC system. The industry standard for DC to AC ratios in *********** is between 1.2 and 1.6, however to maximize system yield the DC to AC ratio should be closer to 1.2. This system has a 1.27 DC/AC ratio as you can see on the set of plans for the system.
In the year of 2022, the system produced a total of 20,405kWh of energy, just shy of 727kWh, which is about 3.4% below the annual kWh we estimated. Summit utilizes the best software available to estimate the production of the solar systems we design. However, the variables like yearly sun hours, snow days, rain days aren't something that we can predict, those will always vary, ultimately affecting the yearly production. Nonetheless, Mr. ****** production is within the range that we have estimated, his system is producing as it should and we installed the system that was promised, from the equipment manufacturer to the system size.Review fromPaula K

From the sales call through start up we had great service. Calls were returned within in a day, especially those to ****************. There were weather delays, but that cant be helped, and workers returned as soon as possible. We are up and running and look forward to generating lots of energy!Summit Energy
