9/29/2004********************** Door Repair September 18, 2024Car trapped in the garage. Googled ********************** Door Opener Repairs, *************, **; Chose IGDoorNote: We are elderly and vulnerable.1:00 two men showed up, estimated $975.00 for a belt opener. Gave go-ahead for the belt option without anything in writing or a specific contract. Then began series of additional expenses. Final bill $3,217.84. We were shocked but paid them by check and they left. We tried many phone numbers to contact them because of things left undone and finally had to admit we had been scammed. Technician: ****, check written to him. We tried to contact him.1.Invoice from M.S ********************** Door-Invoice # 1**** September 18, 2024 ( lacking details).2.Card he left, M.S ********************** Door no info on back. No address. 3.Called M.S ********************** Door from an internet search (--same voice as original am call. Actually small business with 5 employees in ********, no ***** *****, and no record of our job. 9/19/24. We stopped payment on check because the remotes weren't programmed, no warranty, etc. and insufficient contact information.10/14/2024 8:30 PM, Tech**** knocks at our door in the dark, asking for a new check. Frightened we asked him to leave and told him we had contacted the police and would be filing a report with BBB and AARP Scamline. He quickly said You cant call the police. Dont take my picture and held his hand in front of his face. I threatened to call the police again and he ran to his red truck and left. October 19, 2024: Phone call from **** at Henesys AA **** **************************************************** ************ *****(not owner or tech) offered 15% discount, bringing the cost now to $2,734.45. Threatened us with legal action if we did not pay, and said that we would not win in court. Clear case of predatory sales practices charging exhorbitant prices to senior citizens and harassment. We signed no contract for this work. Very sketchy outfit!
