Do not trust, you are buying a sales pitch only. I was told I this company does not only send cleaners out. I would have the support of experts dealing with this. Well that only sent cleaners who stepped out when people got upset, therefore only about 2 hours at the *** really was some work done. Most of that standing around because they had no one there directing besides me. When I cancelled the contract I was told they could not get anything done as my family there would not let them. Again they were made aware of the issues and assured me I would have support there. Not only am I out ******** for the 2 hours of basic help, but due to the issues this caused with the family, I have lost any chance with them. I hired this company not just for the cleaning help, mainly because I didn't know how to handle this myself. They made me feel like they were experienced at this and they could get it done. The cleaning crew was told to step out if there are issues. My neice barked, they stepped out. This happened time and time again and got worse as no one there was experienced at handling this. One of the cleaners actually walked off it got so bad. I needed the help with the mental side of this and was assured that is what I would get. This company cost me Alot more. I did this out of compassion trying to help my dad, ***** was the cost, it was not worth a *****, and they keep the entire ******* paid for a deposit. Just look somewhere else, this is not the help you want if you're in this situation.

**** reached out to LifeCycle Transitions for assistance in cleaning up her father's home after her siblings and their adult children moved in with him following her mother's passing. According to ****, her family members' hoarding habits had greatly damaged the once beautiful home. Recently, her father's health had deteriorated, requiring the presence of an in-home care provider. However, due to the hoarding behaviors of her 52-year-old sister and 33-year-old niece, who had been dependent on her father and never lived independently for more than a year, the situation had worsened.
*******************************, the *** also known as The Transition Expert, who co-hosted the show Hoarders on A&E and had successfully helped many clients in similar situations, personally became interested in ****'s case after reading her inquiry. Whenever he encountered circumstances where hoarding contributed to potential elder abuse, he took these situations to heart. As a result, he quickly assembled a team to offer guidance, direction, and physical assistance to ****'s family. He even organized a hoarding intervention with the entire family through a conference call, inviting everyone involved in the home.
The goal of the intervention was to allow everyone the opportunity to express their grievances and address any animosity, with the hope of progressing towards a productive transition of the home. However, only ****'s sister attended the call, which in retrospect hinted at future difficulties. Despite not gaining the family's full commitment and cooperation, we proceeded to speak with ****'s sister, who adamantly claimed she didn't need Life Cycle's help and could handle the situation on her own, albeit with more time. Recognizing the urgency of her father's declining health, **** knew the house needed immediate attention. Understanding the severity of the situation, I supported ****'s plea to initiate the transition cleanup sooner rather than later.
After the initial call, we didn't receive the level of enthusiasm we had hoped for. However, given the importance of addressing a critical situation involving potential elder abuse, we agreed to a transition agreement with **** to rectify the hoarded home's condition, despite the known concerns. **** expressed her gratitude for preventing her sister from interfering in the cleanup efforts, as their relationship had become confrontational. During the call, there were instances where **** raised her voice at her sister, but we redirected her, urging her to remain positive and optimistic for a favorable outcome.
Following the intervention call, we scheduled the start date a few days later. However, **** contacted ******* in a frantic state, informing him that her niece, her sister's daughter, was causing havoc and uproar at the house. The niece and other family members warned us not to touch her belongings or face severe consequences. Undeterred by these alleged threats, we remained committed to our mission and optimistically believed we could assist the family in their transition, just as we had done countless times before.
On the day of the cleanup process, the family members refused to open the door, closing the blinds and ignoring our technicians who were onsite. To salvage the faltering transition before it even began, ******* personally called ****, notifying her of the situation. He insisted that she drive to the house to offer support to the onsite transition team. Surprisingly, **** initially hesitated, but after our insistence that her presence would greatly help us, she agreed. However, this should have served as a warning sign that problems were brewing.
By the time **** arrived, the crew had been waiting patiently outside in the sweltering ***** heat for over two hours. An immediate confrontation ensued between **** and her family, creating a dangerous environment for the crew. As a result, we suggested that they step outside temporarily while ******* reassessed the situation, considering another family intervention. During this time, ******* spoke with ****'s sister again, who surprisingly wasn't interfering as anticipated. It was actually ****'s niece who became verbally abusive and confrontational after her items were moved and a step stool was mishandled. We tried to contain the situation and apologized profusely for the mishap, assuring her that our intentions were sincere. She appeared to be calming down, but to ensure we didn't lose progress on the transition efforts, I requested to speak with ****'s father, the head of the household, hoping to gain his support and confidence. However, he angrily threw the phone down after muttering a few offensive words and gestures, which **** refused to repeat.
Despite the challenges, we persisted with the cleanup efforts as agreed. After six hours, since it was her father's birthday, **** and ******* agreed to call it a day and resume the next day. However, to our surprise, three hours later, **** sent a text to *******, completely blindsiding us. She requested the cancellation of our services, claiming that the crew was ill-prepared and that she was doing all the work alone. She asked us not to charge her card again and even demanded a credit. This was incredibly disappointing and devastating, considering the dedication we had invested in improving the living conditions for her father's well-being. Furthermore, her slanderous remarks about our highly trained technicians, referring to them as mere cleaners instead of transition coordinators who underwent rigorous training to handle stressful hoarding situations, were offensive and belittling to the measures we took to restore a healthy living environment for her family.
To add insult to injury, she even characterized the intervention with our ***, a highly respected figure known for his work with hoarders on national television, as a mere sales pitch. This demonstrated her disregard and lack of appreciation for the deliberate efforts made to assist her. Despite *******'s urging and offering various options, such as holding her deposit for up to a year and reassigning a new crew or his personal attention to her project, **** refused. It became evident to us and my staff that she had given up, feeling overwhelmed and annoyed with her family.
It's important to understand the gravity of this situationa home with five adults, eleven cats, and three dogs in a small single-family home where only three people initially resided. None of them welcomed our presence, making their sentiments clear. Nevertheless, our highly trained team remained undeterred, fulfilling our contractual obligations. If you're seeking a compassionate transition company that will fight for your quality of life every step of the way, that's why you should hire us. Unfortunately, in this case, the client was not mentally or emotionally prepared and lost confidence in the journey that so many of our clients have successfully completed with us. This was truly disappointing for everyone involved in the transition. However, slandering our reputation and speaking negatively about our technicians is both wrong and entirely false. We never give up and always give 100% effort. We stand behind our team's professionalism and commitment. If you choose Life Cycle to assist you in your transition, rest assured that it will be the best decision you'll ever make. We deeply care about our clients and will fight for what's best for them every step of the way.

Although Life Cycle Transitions is listed with companies that provide clear out and clean up services for hoarders and others whose homes have become overwhelmingly cluttered, I believe their focus is on acquiring real estate for resale and profit. I am a senior citizen and mobility disabled. I was hospitalized for emergency surgery and a family member flew to ****** from the West Coast in order to hire a company to clean out my residence which had become unmanageably cluttered due to my disability. She met with the owner, *******************************, at the residence and he provided a proposal to clear out the residence and provide deep cleaning. He collected the down payment. He would not provide a written proposal or contract, although he was repeatedly asked to do so. ******************** touts his vast experience, but was unable to provide a reasonable assessment of the project. As the work progressed he amended his proposal daily saying there was much more work than he anticipated. He never reported what work was performed, but gave excuses for what was left undone. My family member flew home on the date the last day of work had been scheduled. ******************** said his crew would need to work two or three more days. He collected the final payment from my family members credit card before the work was finished and before providing any final statement of the work that had been performed. Photos that were taken after the crew left on the last day show debris on the floors. The crew left debris on the buildings front and back stairwells for which I was assessed a cleaning fee by the **** We asked repeatedly for a detailed statement of work done, but received none. Mr. ******** told me the residence was dangerous, unlivable and too costly for me to repair. He asked that the property be transferred to him to fix and resell. His words were chosen to frighten me. Subsequent cleaners and contractors have assured me his claims are wrong.

It is my home where the clean out was done. It is my home that the business owner asked to be deeded to him for referb and resale. The bill was in my sisters name, but the business owner knows full well who I am. I texted him during the work. He responded partially. I regret I was gravely ill and in hospital during the time his business sent workers into my home. I would like to add (1) The home has no lasting damage to sub-floors nor lasting fumes from cat urine as was represented to me. (2) many valuable items (almost new MAC laptop, new Instantpot in clear plastic bag, etc) were discarded and no inventory provided as other clean out companies provide for obviously valuable items.
