On 10/2/2024 I had a procedure which entailed the pounding down of my teeth roots into my gums so I could use a prosthesis for missing teeth. It was completed about 4:15 in the afternoon and since I was a bit groggy the staff suggested that I go home and pay the bill by phone the next day.The next day i received a **** text saying that I had an outstanding bill for $747 and to pay it by phone; however it is not my policy to pay large bills by phone to a small business and I wanted to check information from my dental insurer as to what portion of the bill they would pay. After 34 weeks and at least 7 harrassing texts to pay by phone. ( There were no other options, no return envelope, no mailing address., I decided to mail a check to the dental office. Another couple of weeks pass and check hasnt cleared. ***. I stop payment on the check for $35 fee! More time goes by, more harrassing ******** this point I am exhausted and send another check for $747 to their business office in ************. Probably dumb of me.Then a form from insurance company turns up, they have paid over $260 and because of an agreement with dentists in their system estimate that my copay is $68.37 I have sent them a copy of that page and a short note requesting my checks return.Second check had not been cashed as of Monday. If I have to pay another $35 to stop the $747 check I really do not think I should pay a $68 + copay At this point I became aware of a statement from insurance company.

My wife and I are seniors, 75 and 72, and feel this practice took advantage of us. I cracked my tooth in half. My dentist took X-ray and referred me to N.E.Oral Surgery on 4/5/2024 to get tooth pulled. N.E. Oral Surgery took $226 on 4/5/2024 ($90 was deposit to pull tooth, $136 to consultation to pull tooth). They said come back in 5 days on 4/10/2024 to pull tooth. I am in pain and asking to pull tooth but they said come back in 5 days. On 4/10/2024, 5 days later I went back to N.E.Oral surgery to get tooth pulled. They demanded $195 more money before they would do any procedure to pull my tooth. I told them that I already paid $226 which included a deposit, and I will pay you for your service after you pull my tooth. They said to my wife and I that they don't do that. I said to them I have been in pain for 5 days and they keep wanting more money before doing any work. My wife apologized and gave secretary a credit card to charge, the secretary did not take the card and said "you are very rough people"The dentist then came out and said "go find another dentist I don't want to pull your tooth" I am immunocompromised, on blood thinner among other medical issues - they took no regard to ask me about my medication - which may be an issue when pulling my tooth due to bleeding. I eventually had my tooth pulled from another oral surgery service which took more precaution on ensuring It is safe for me to hold my blood thinner to prevent excess bleeding. New England Oral Surgery Associates should have been more transparent on their billing practices, they are more concerned with taking money and not the care of patients. They also took Oral X-ray on 4/5 even though they had X-rays in their possession which were taken 4 hours earlier by my dentist who referred me to them. They charged for those X-rays as well. I was able to dispute this charge as it was clearly un-necessary and another example of money over proper service.

My son had his wisdom tooth extraction performed by ************************ on Dec 29th 2022. Prior to performing the procedure, I was asked to pay $3730 as the dentist was not sure how much they will get reimbursed by insurance. They collected information on two insurances from me - One is MetLife for **************** and Second one is from Cigna which is my primary medical insurance. Cigna is covering the dentist as In-Network Provider and for MetLife they are Out-Of-Network.Dentist filed claims to both the companies Billing both for 4381.Cigna agreed to cover the entire treatment with a deductible of ****** (Remaining ******* to be returned). MetLife processed claim partially, paying Dentist **** only. When I reached out to dentist, they said they are working with ******* and sent one correspondence to us on May 4th and another on May 18th. After waiting today I reached out to MetLife and they informed me that claim made by dentist on Dec 29 was incomplete and hence processed it partially. Same with the claim submitted on May 4th and they are still working on the claim submitted on May 18th. They would not provide me an ETA when they will finish processing the claim nor were they able to tell me if the claim made is correct and accurate.Per my understanding Cigna is covering this dentist as In-Network and has provided maximum coverage. I therefore am requesting that the dentist use Cigna and refund the excess amount paid - which is $*******.Attachment 1: NEOR-Payment.pdf - Receipt for payment of $3730.Attachment 2: Correspondence-May4th Attachment 3: Correspondence-May18th Attachment 4: CIGNA-Coverage If any further clarification is required please reach out to me on my cell# **************

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.

My spouse had called them three times prior to filing the complaint and we had not received a path to resolving the issue, they implied wanting more time.
