I have so many issues with this company "Bright Planet Solar", who apparently works with "Everbright solar"" that it's just ridiculous. First issue, they have our signatures on a contract that we never signed or seen. It says it was docu-signed but yet we never received any receipt of that in our emails, 2nd, we were lied to about the cost of the system, was told somewhere around ****** to buy the system outright which I intended on doing if it worked like the salesman assured us it would, but after demanding to see the contract that we supposedly signed it states that the system is ******* and can't be purchased until after 5 years!!, 3rd, we were told it would produce enough power to eliminate our ************ bill which it hasn't done so now I'm supposed to pay 2 different companies a month for electric, 4th, they scammed my girlfriend into signing something and now it states on the "contract" that she is a co-signer to all this and our sending her monthly bills as well as me, 5th, they damaged my roof, and last but not least, It now shows that there is a lien on my home in both of our names, (this is my home and not my girlfriends.) which I'm in the process of trying to sell! I refuse to pay the monthly bill they are demanding because I never signed any contract with them and now it's threatening to ruin both of our credits!!Business Response

***** and I talked at length today and I outlined to him that after an internal investigation was conducted, we were not able to find proof of fraud as Mr. ********* alleges. We do consider the agreement in effect and we please ask that we be allowed to finish the project as we have already invested man hours and equipment into the project we commenced with *****.Customer Answer

Complaint: 23309241
I am rejecting this response because: yes we did speak at length and after I explained the numerous problems in this situation from the forged signature to the faulty equipment and to the damages done to my property, roof, and car and got no response. I also explained to Mrs. ***** that not only had I never seen a contract but that I had never intended on leasing anything because as I explained to Mrs. ***** and I explained to the salesrep I was only interested in purchasing the system outright and I had been adimittent about this from the beginning and not to mention the system is still not running. After finding my situation to be utterly ridiculouse I did some research on my own and found that this company has been sued in many states for the exact same thing that is happening to me. Even the attorney general of *********** has filed a lawsuit against them as well. I don't know why California or any other state would give a license to a company to do business by defrauding the public. Their salesmen are con artists and their actions are absoultely preditorial. I am fortunate enough to have the funds to sue these people which I am in the process of doing but what about all the people who can not afford to defend themselves. So to wrap it up all I wanted was to pay cash for a solar system at the price I was told at ****** by the salesrep instead I got half a system that still don't operate, a damaged roof, a damaged car, an illegal lien on my home, and somehow I'm in a 25 year fraudulent contract that on it's own is the worse contract I have ever seen,(which I just seen a week ago) absoulte theft! You people should be ashamed of yourself.
Sincerely,

The Solar System I haveI, three companies pretty much manage it. Omnidian, Who's supposed to monitor and make sure the system is working and give me direction!!!Bright Opps, who's supposed to contact me to schedule a date to fix the system. Everbright, the finance portion. It stoped working on April 08, 2025. These companies are crooks!!! Not only did Omnidian took there time in giving me a number to call (Bright Opps). Bright Opps NEVER!! Called me. If I would have not been On top of things It would have beed more time to schedule a service appointment. Now they give me an appointment until May 12. That means that by the time they come I would be with out solar for over a month. Everbright is the financial part and they are not accommodating that month of having no solar. I have to pay them that month even though I had no service. I don't understand why these companies are able to be in business. When things are working they are not good but I can except that. The problem is when the system stops. It takes a lot of time to get ahold of a representative. Then no one reaches out to schedule an appointment, and NOW wait 3 more weeks for someone to come out and hopefully fix the system.Business Response

Nineth,
Thanks for reaching out. I can understand why you are frustrated, however we (BrightOps) do not own your contract or equiptment on your home. We have to follow established guidelines and protocols by your agreement holders to troubleshoot the problem, communicate with manufactures, and address the remedies to resolve the issue. This is going to take time and manpower to do and can affect scheduling of said work or fixes.
In your case I would look at your agreement under the production guarantee because issues like this get taken into account every 2 years with Everbright and you should be compensated for that difference.
We look forward to resolving your issue soon to get you back up and running.

Mr. ******,
Thanks for reaching out. We are aware of your situation and our teams have been working with you on your case. We do not believe that our system caused you any damage to your home. while we did compensate you some monies to basily settle this issue, we will not be paying out anymore on your project. You have not let our contractors onsite to investigate the claims you have made and it difficult to due their jobs as per the ***** You also hired someone else prior to install to redo your roof who is not contracted by us, and if there are any leaks you should be addressing it with your own roofer. In addition you also removed your panels with a 3rd party or yourself (We cannot tell who exactly.) which but you into a breach of agreement with the funding company. And we have informed them of this issue and they will be reaching out to you.
If you had a leak caused by us, it was your duty to let our team of licensed contractors verify and document the damage and make repairs, instead you took it upon yourself to remove a system and remodel your home and expect us to pay the bill without going through the proper process and working with our team and within the guidelines of your contract.

I lost my electrical power on Thursday, March 6, 2025 in half my living room and my dining room and I waited until the following Monday, March 10, 2025 to initiate the request for the repair with the ******* customer service **** ******* *****, who had me do some troubleshooting of my solar system and we werent able to resolve the problem so he created an expedited dispatch and sent it to Ever Bright who was suppose to contact me in a couple of days but it wasnt until a week later that I was told to contact Bright Ops which I did and then had to wait another couple of days to hear back from them. They called back on March 21, 2025 and I swear they told me that a technician would be dispatched on April 1, 2025 but today when I called to check on my dispatch for tomorrow, April 1, Bright Ops told me my dispatch wasnt until April 7, next week. Needless to say, I think this is really poor service and totally unacceptable to have to wait for over a month to get my solar power operational again. I wish I could wring somebodys neck or sue this company.Business Response

Mr. ******,
We understanding losing your solar production can be frustrating, however in this case your production is monitored, serviced, and managed by Everbright and Omidian. Bright Ops helps then fulfill install, onsite troubleshooting, and service requests. We have scheduled your service for the soonest possible date we had on the calendar at the time.
If you feel you issue is not being handled fast enough, please reach out to your agreement holder Everbright. Wishing someone harm for your frustration or misunderstanding is not productive in resolving the issue.

We set up a Solar Installation with Bright Ops. The system has not been correctly installed and the company will not prepare a work order to have the work correctly completed. They are charging us the monthly agreed upon amount which we pay, however, we continue to get bills from *** because the system has not been correctly installed. We continue to attempt to get the company to correct this and we are stalled with out resolution. I am sending copies of conversations between myself and Bright Ops showing their acceptance of the incorrect install and their lack of taking care of the problem.Business Response

Bright Ops responded but again wanted us to re-open a ticket for the repair. I was able to speak with a Battery Expert and a ticket was opened, ticket # ****** in which the expert agreed that the refrigerator should have been a part of the install, and the information would be submitted for review for possible repair. I was suppose to hear from the company the next day with a date for an onsite visit and have heard nothing. I do not want the BBB to close this complaint at this time as we are still awaiting to hear about a prospective date for repair.

Our issue has been resolved. Thank you for the update. We wanted to say that the team Raul and ****** that repaired our system did a phenomenal job. They listened to our concerns, traced and fixed the problem and did not leave until we were 100% satisfied. Not only did they fix the issue with our refrigerator but they spent the time tracing all our lines and ensuring the lines that were made active were correct and updated the documentation on the panel. We hope that you will pass this on to them and let them know how happy we are with their work. While it has taken some time and great effort to get this resolved, we are pleased with the outcome. Thank you **** and ******.Customer Answer

DO NOT GO THROUGH SUNRUN OR BRIGHTPLANET FOR SOLAR. I installed my solar system back in November and its been an absolute nightmare. If I could go back and never purchase the system, I would 100%. The customer service is terrible. The people are nice but you just get the runaround. My system hasnt been working since the middle of December, and they still have not been out to fix it. I cant believe I am having to leave this review, but Ive been getting the runaround for a month now so I have no other choice. Dont buy your solar from a 3rd party. I didnt realize what I was doing, but BrightPlanet is a separate company from 3rd party. I thought it was just one company. So now Im having to talk with two different companies and they are both placing the blame on each other. I pray this will get resolved one day.Business Response

Had a sales rep come out to my home and basically lied about every aspect of the installation. First lie was that I could cancel at any time, this is not true. Second lie was that he worked directly for ******, again not true (didn't find this out until recently when I contacted ******). Basically, been in a contract since last year and was guaranteed that this was a one day install (again lie), I have had multiple technicians come out and only work a few hours and then not complete the install. They did not thing but damage my house and fill in the hole on a wood siding with silicone. Been promised multiple times they would fix this. They also left off trim on my house right below the electrical panel. Fast forward, when they cut over to the box they installed one of my HVAC units stopped producing heat and will not shut off unless I flip the breaker. They sent a tech out to look at it and him and his partner told me one thing but then tried to say that it was a pre-existing condition. Mind you I am a ****** parent and my home is constantly being inspected (monthly) so they would have said something to me about it but they have not. They informed me that I have to pay for the fixing of something they did because they don't have a licensed HVAC individual. They have made multiple promises to me about contacting me back and never do (again lie). This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with when it comes to unethical sales and representation. Furthermore, my so called final inspection was set but had to cancel due to some issues with the inspector and the job would have failed inspection anyways. I have tried to deal with this company and nothing just lies upon lies.Business Response

Not only did Bright Ops take over two years to put things in order to turn on the power to the panels but every time their guys came over to move the box and the connect the pipe, they broke roof tiles and we expected them to be replaced, of course. This year we took a final look at what they have been putting on the roof and had an independent roofer evaluate it. You can see in the photos that they placed all kinds of mismatched tiles on the roof. They do not match our tiles. The independent roofer explained that they do not fit each other (like a puzzle) and that the roof will eventually leak (no time frame discussed). While our tiles may be hard to obtain, it is not impossible (according to the roofer). If they do not want to put in the effort to replace them with the correct type, we suggested replacing the roof with a non-tile type and removing the panels to get this work done, at their expense since they have damaged so many and distressed my mom so very much and for three years now. There are still broken and cracked tiles to be replaced. I explained and requested this but they consider the job done and do not agree to changing the roof and obviously they do not invest the effort of finding the correct tiles or replacing them without braking more.Business Response

"We appreciate you reaching out about this issue. And we feel we have done our best to resolve your concerns with the leak and repairs. The home in question here has very old tiles that are no longer in production, and we did our best to source materials that will work with the product currently installed on the roof. Our roofing contractor is confident in the repairs and your home penetration warranty is in place should there be a leak from our solar system. We will not be replacing the whole roof at this time as it is far beyond the scope of the agreement, and is more of a maintenance issue that the homeowner would need to address. "
