I had my yearly eye doctor appointment on March 27, 2024. During the appointment the doctor wanted me to switch brands of contacts to find what he said was a better fit. I took the trial set of Bosch and loamb . I tried to use the contacts and they were horrible. I literally pulled them out at ****************** and put my glasses on. I contacted eye care specialists in ********************* the next day and was sent to leave a message for the contact team it took nearly 2 weeks for them to get back . the gentleman that was there at the time, said he would speak to the doctor and cancel my contact check. That visit is not covered by insurance and I was hesitant to do it to begin with as I thought it was unnecessary. I then received a call asking why I wasnt at my appointment. I explained to the lady that I had canceled it and I need to go back to my Accu view oasis. She said shed pass it on to the doctor. Since then I have not heard back once from eye care specialist in ********. In August, I was getting ready to go on vacation and I need contacts. I reached out to eyecare specialist in *********. The lady was nice, but it took about two weeks for the Kingston office to get back to her. I explicitly told her that I needed the active view oasis. I did not want the new ones she finally got them ordered, and they took forever to came in. I was able to finally get them the morning. I was leaving for vacation however they ordered the Bosch and *****. I felt bad for the lady. She was nice, but she did not help and said theres nothing she can do because I already use my insurance and I pay the difference. Ive still been trying to get a hold of eyecare specialist in ******** leaving probably over the last few months 30 to 40 messages There refused to call me back. I am to the point where these contacts do not stick to my eyes and make me dizzy. I am requesting someone finally call back to me and give me a trial set of my contacts.

Summary: The optician broke my glasses when he adjusted them and the company refuses to replace them. They only offered me 50% off a new pair. After my annual eye exam, I stopped by the optical department as I always did for years to get my glasses adjusted. ***** took my glasses and brought them back to me broken. He literally cracked the frame in half in the front of my glasses. He apologized but proceeded to tell me he can only offer 50% off a new pair! I insisted on speaking to the manager who told me the same thing. I only asked for the exact same glasses but it is ridiculous that they broke them and wont replace them. My lenses are progressive and have transitions so they are not cheap, even at 50 % off.

I spoke with a representative from my health care provider named ***** (*) from *** on 9/15/23. I was told I was allowed 2 pair of contact lenses a year, and my part of the coverage required I pay for the exam and sizing. So I made and went to this Eye Care business 10/6/2023, scanned my Drivers License and Insurance card upon arrival. After the exam and sizing were completed, I proceeded to checkout, not only did I pay the $250.00, I was informed I had to pay an additional $300. I asked about the $300 because of the insurance, and was told according to a supervisor at the business, this is indeed the total. So based on the fact that I did indeed receive their services, I stupidly decided to render the full amount, not knowing at that time, they had failed to run my insurance information through. I later decided on Oct 13 2023 to recheck with my insurance provider, I spoke with ******* (*) at *** and she restated that my obligation was just the exam and sizing @$250.00.
She even put me on hold and checked with her supervisor, upon returning to my call she said she would request the refund. Both times I reached out to *** they had me hold while speaking directly to Eye Care business.
As of today January 17, 2024 I haven’t received any refund of any amount!

I feel the company immediately enriched themselves by billing me up front, rather then running the billing through my insurance company first

I received an email from the business that my complaint is against, they are going to refund my $300. But, the debit card number is no longer valid as it expired! Is it ok for me to call the number attached to their no response email, so I can update the correct card number?

I just spoke with Rhonda at Vision Care, Maryland @9:30am this morning. She assured me that my $300.00 refund was started yesterday the 8th of February, and even though the bank **** debit card expired, it will still link to my bank account. She states it should appear between yesterday or by the end of next week February 16th.

I added screenshot of the receipt.

thanks for your help in this matter!

I purchased a pair of glasses/lenses here in November of 2022 and had many issues with the order. After a month, they stated that the lenses had arrived and the frames were never ordered. After an initial phone call, they had lashed out on me and hung up on me when asking for clarification on the order. They stated that the frames were never ordered initially, Then, they stated that they were ordered but took a long time to deliver. Finally, in February of 2023 my father goes to pick up my glasses. The attendant spent 30 minutes looking for them and stated that they never actually delivered, then to only find them on the display shelf by their own mistake. She raised her voice at my immigrant middle eastern father who has a heavy accent. She stated that I need to watch my ego and voice while standing over my father and waiving her finger at his face. My father told her to not do that and then she threatened my father saying "I will call my husband and have him come here." She also stated that she will not give me my glasses and that I myself have to come there and purchase them even though they are covered by insurance and my family has been going there for years prior. The police showed up to disperse the altercation and spoke with my father separately. They forced the attendant to get my glasses through the insurance which she would not initially and handed them to my father. This was an awful experience with nothing but racism and abuse by a health care provider. To cause the police to get involved over a pair of glasses shows the level of disrespect and lack of care these people provide their customers. On top of them taking 3 months to receive a pair of glasses and giving inaccurate information throughout the time on their status shows they have an extreme lack of patient care. This was my families final time dealing with this institution and I will never recommend them. STAY FAR FAR AWAY
