URGENT REQUEST: Failure to Remove Incorrect Phone Number - ************ - ***** **** Listing I am writing to file a complaint against SearchPeopleFree.com (located at ****************************************************************************************************************) regarding their failure to remove my personal information from their website despite multiple requests.On March 27, 2025, I sent a written request via mail to the aforementioned address, requesting the removal of my phone number, ************, from their website. This phone number is incorrectly listed under the profile of ***** **** on the following page: **************************************************************** also submitted a removal request through their website on April 2, 2025. I received confirmation on the same day, April 2, 2025, stating that my removal request had been processed.Despite this confirmation, my phone number, ************, continues to be publicly displayed on the listing for ***** **** at ************************************************************** under the incorrect individual's listing. This constitutes a significant privacy and security concern for ***** a resident of **********, I am entitled to the protection of my personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Civil Code 1798.100-1798.199. SearchPeopleFree has access to billions of public records, including the most recent and 40-years worth of historical data. While I understand that your platform aggregates public records, my concern is **not** about how data is sourced, but rather the fact that **my personal phone number is incorrectly listed** under someone else's profile. This is a clear misrepresentation, and despite your claim that records cannot be altered, I expect corrections to be made when inaccuracies arise.

Our website provides historical as well as current data, which means that as some point in time the individual you are referencing reported themselves as being associated with the phone number in question. I am writing to respond to SearchPeopleFree.com's continued failure to address the core issues of my complaint, as detailed in my initial submission to the Better Business Bureau.
SearchPeopleFree.com has not provided any substantive action to resolve the inaccurate listing of my personal information. My phone number, **************, remains incorrectly displayed under the profile for ***** **** at ************************************************************** and on their phone lookup page at ************************************************************.
I want to reiterate the key points of my complaint, which SearchPeopleFree has failed to acknowledge or address:
Contradictory Statements: SearchPeopleFree.com has provided conflicting explanations for the presence of my information.
On April 2, 2025, SearchPeopleFree.com confirmed that my removal request, submitted through their opt-out process, was received and would be processed within 3 days. (See the Attachment)
Subsequently, SearchPeopleFree.com has offered a general statement about displaying public records and not being able to modify them. This directly contradicts their earlier assurance that my information would be removed.
Failure to Fulfill Removal Request: Despite acknowledging my removal request and stating that it would be processed, SearchPeopleFree.com has not removed my phone number from the incorrect listings. This represents a clear failure to honor their commitment and a disregard for my request to correct inaccurate information.
Responsibility for Displayed Information: While SearchPeopleFree.com may aggregate public records, they are responsible for the information they display on their website. The continued display of inaccurate information, particularly after a removal request, is unacceptable.
I am not disputing that SearchPeopleFree.com gathers publicly available data, nor am I attempting to edit another person's record. However, I am disputing their failure to:
Correct demonstrably inaccurate information: SearchPeopleFree.com is displaying my phone number, **************, which I have owned for over 30 years, in a way that falsely associates it with another individual. This is not a matter of simply displaying historical data; it is the display of current, inaccurate information that ***** me.
Honor their own stated removal process: SearchPeopleFree.com confirmed they would remove my information, implying a complete removal of any association between me and the phone number. They have not done so.
Comply with the spirit of the ***** The **** aims to give California consumers control over their personal information. SearchPeopleFree.com's response attempts to minimize their responsibility in ensuring the accuracy of the information they present, which undermines this goal.

I have owned this phone number for over 30 years; it is my personal contact information, and their inaccurate listing associates it with someone else. Therefore, I insist that SearchPeopleFree.com take the following actions:
Immediately and completely remove my phone number, **************, from both the ***** **** profile page and the phone lookup page on their website, so that it is no longer associated with her in any way.

The issue has not been resolved. Search people for free states they would remove my info which they did not. A ****** search of my name brings up the same result with all my information. I was told they would remove the info with in 5 business days. It was not removed. What is my next step? Should I get an attorney ?

I informed them that they mixed up their records between my sister ****** ***** and myself and that she was born in **** and I was born in **** and that I am very much alive and she passed away in May of this year. They sent me an email trying to say that the *************** statistics here in ****** sent them the information that I was dead. I know for a fact that I own many copies of my sister's death certificate and if they actually had truthful information from my state like they said on their email it would be corrected. I have also forwarded this informtion and a copy of this to our local news outlets. This needs to be straightened out Immediately and also my phone number, email address, and street address need to be removed from their files. thank you.
