I recently paid my credit card off in Full, payment in full was verified and confirmed, yet I am still receiving emails and text for payment due. The credit card has since been removed from account, yet it still shows after almost 2 months as being active account on ********************** report and online. I have experienced so many problems with this credit union to last a life time. I will be closing all accounts moving forward. I would like MECU to remove this credit card that has been paid in full, never had a late payment and I requested to close this account, and ******************** continue sending emails, and text for payment. BALANCE IS $0.00 email reads your MECU credit card statement is now available, there is no payment due, card does not exist.

Per Mr. ***** Day, VP Deposit  E-Sersvices:

We do not know the date of this complaint, but the payment of $151.49 posted to the credit card on May 6, 2025. On May 9 the card was closed. The member will still receive one final statement as a payment was made during that cycle. The member will see that the statement balance is zero.

The credit bureau adjustment was processed on April 21, 2025. MECU reports monthly to the credit bureaus, so the member must wait until the next cycle to confirm credit bureau update. Again, we do not know the date of the complaint, so we do not know when she accessed her credit file from one of the three credit bureaus.

I am the original creditor my signature allowed MECU to borrow on my behalf. MECU never supplied any funds the funds came from the ********************, I allowed MECU interest therefore no matter if MECU did not forgive debt it is by law MECU furnished a copy of the 1099-C to the individual who  the account is held.  MECU can not forgive a debt because it does not not have the power only the *** and ******************** from whom MECU uses my information to borrow through a discount window and charge me interest on my funds due to my signature. MECU filed a 1099-C to charge off debt, regardless of MECU forgave on their behalf by law MECU is to furnish a copy.  MECU files a 1099-C copy and A and must send a copy B to individual who account is in their name. MECU is committing fraud by not sending copy, MECU has demonstrated that they are not the original creditor and that the *** forgives debt. Also by law I am suppose to receive copy, MECU is acting in a fraudulent capacity as if they furnished funds for transaction. MECU was allowed interest due to my signature therefore I am requesting a copy of what MECU filed. MECU filed a 1099-C and by law I am required to receive a copy and thats in their IRS law.

      Customer Answer

MECU used a 1099-C to have the debt charged off. I am requesting a copy for what was filed with the ***. MECU can not collect on a debt that has been charged off by law. By law you MECU is required to send a copy. MECU does not have any power thats why it filed a 1099-C. It was not your funds from the start you are not releasing it because you couldnt make any money off the loan I gave MECU you interest within.

MECU must follow the law thats why you submitted a 1099-C to have the debt you owed from borrowing in my name released from you books as a liability and not an assets. IF MECU does not submit 1099-C I will have no choice but to file suit for fraudulent business practices starting with misrepresentation of the original loan as if MECU was the original creditor when in fact it was not, also for charging me interest on my money without disclosing that you would be borrowing through a discount window and selling me my money at a higher rate without providing information to n the original truth and lending. I am trying to do this amicably so by Law no matter if you forgive or not you have no power and thus the trying to hold on to 1099-C.

complaint has been filed with *** and the omnibus for fraudulent business practices. You can not collect your n a charged off debt so send me a copy of what you filed. If I have to acquire it from *** it will only improve my lawsuit against your organization.

it was never you funds from start so release what is suppose to be released by Law.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 05/29/2025

In order to do a charge off you had to file a 1099-C therefore I am required by Law to receive a copy. Follow the rules

      Customer Answer

      Date: 05/29/2025

Also include the 1099-A that was filed along with the 1099-C both forms are due to me by legal procedure failure to do so is a violation of Law.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 05/29/2025

This is from the *** website therefore follow the law. MECU did not put up one dime not one *****. MECU was granted security by me therefore I am the original creditor and original holder of note as well as *************** not MECU. It used my information to borrow my money on my behalf therefore without my permission MECU could not have borrowed anything. Therefore by law since I allowed you access send me what is due to me by law.

MECU has been the worst finance company we have ever dealt with. The auto loan is in my husbands name but I make the payments and he gave them permission to speak to me, however we are a month behind and they are saying we are two behind, they keep trying to force repossession of my vehicle, they locked us out of our mobile account. The only reasons why we are remotely behind are 2 deaths (grandparents) hurricane ******, snow storms, flooding, credit score dropped 150 points because of them, wont add it to principal. His company said they have too and they did it for him. Weve paid every month since January, the employees are rude and wont help and hang up. They keep saying they dont do that and they dont care about families and life changing events that have happened. They send us a billing/payment report as a pdf file via email, we get it and the pdf is blank. Theres nothing there.

I have attached the payment/billing info they sent to email, it is blank, it shows absolutely nothing. They are still rude and still saying there is nothing they can do about deferring one payment to the principal due to unseen circumstances that has happened, especially the 2 deaths of our grandparents! They even sent out a truck to come repossess my car! It has been nothing but heartache and headache trying to deal with MECU. They are the hardest finance company to get in touch with, and when asked to speak to someone higher they will hang up on you. So no, my problem has not been resolved, not the least bit.

I am unable to pay for account that has been open because it does not appear on my account.        E-Services are working on resolving an issue with closed secured credit cards displaying in the members online banking profile and the active secured credit card not displaying. The closed credit card has now been removed from the members online banking profile. A temporary work-around until this matter is resolved is to download the MECU Cards App from the App Store or ****** Play Store and register the credit card. This will allow the member to view their balance and make a payment.

I had a car loan through Mecu and never had a late or missing payment because it was paid automatically through my bank. I moved and notified them of my address change but it was never corrected. My cosigner had filed bankruptcy, but I was still paying the loan every month until one day they just stopped the payments from Mecu's end. Months go by and I had no idea because I was never notified since they never updated the address. This escalated to me getting a lawyer because they hit my credit report, and come to find out they had listed myself as filing for bankruptcy but I never did and that was why they stopped accepting my payment. I was then told to pay off the car which I did, and received a call from an employee named **** ****** who informed me that they were going to reverse the credit marks but it never happened. I have been trying to get ahold of them for months but no response and my credit is still not fixed.

I was in contact with the repossession department all week and they didnt inform me that before I went to pick my vehicle up they had moved it to the auction. Several weeks before they stated they would send it to the auction. They also stated they destroyed my tags when they transported the vehicle to the auction. They didnt inform me they were moving the vehicle nor did they state they had the authority to do so after the 15 day redemption period. When I spoke to the guy he stated it was being held at a specific location when it was first in the redemption period and that I had time to make payments until the auction date. and when I paid everything today they stated it was at the location and when I arrived after hours of investigation they found out that it was moved to another location. She stated they have no responsibility over theft or damage to my vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because:

No one communicated that my vehicle was moved so I had no idea where my personal belongings were. The company that you guys used on the morning of the day I paid everything off which was the 30th they threw my personal belongings away.

This entire process between your company, and them has been ridiculous. Aside from the situation at hand, this is completely a slap in the face.

And if told prior to that my vehicle was moved I wouldve went and picked up my belongings to ensure its safety. But instead, I was given the runaround.

They were rude, nasty, and completely unprofessional. I would be ashamed to do business with them. Theres a reason they have one star reviews off of almost 50 people.

      Sincerely,

      ******* ******
