In the fall of 2022, I was contacted by a representative of Constellation Energy and enrolled in an electricity rate plan that included coverage for our heat, air conditioning and water heater. I was specifically told that my water heater was 'covered'. I know that I asked that question as we had 2 water heater replacements in our previous house. I signed up based on that conversation and was sent further details sometime later. In March of this year, my water heater failed, and I was told I was not covered for a replacement but only a repair. I believe I was misled by the agent's omission of pertinent information or that they intentionally deceived me in order to get my enrollment.
I have had several conversations with Constellation representatives and have been told that they retain recordings of these conversations and have listened to them. No one has refuted my statement that the 'the water heater is covered' was made by their agent. They have made many excuses and, in my opinion, attempted to talk their way out of it, but have never stated that my memory of this conversation is incorrect.
I have made several efforts to resolve this matter with your customer service people, with very unsatisfactory results. I was offered an a/c inspection which I agreed to, and they did send a check for $100, which was basically for me to ‘go away’. The agents that I did speak to were professional and tried to be helpful, but I believe were very limited in their level of authority. I do know that at least one of the agents I spoke to did listen to the phone recording of my conversation with the sales rep I signed up with. He was very careful in what he said, but didn’t disagree that I was told that my water heater was covered.
I am certain that I was misled by the Constellation representative who enrolled me in the program and while they may not have made any false statements, omitting or avoiding pertinent information is still deceptive and unethical.

In May 2023, I signed a fixed-rate contract with Constellation at a rate of 11.9¢ per kWh. This rate was presented to me as a way to save on my energy costs. However, after reviewing current market rates, I discovered that the average commercial electricity rate in my area (Alpha, NJ, 08865) is approximately 6.35¢ per kWh. As a result, my monthly electric bills have significantly increased, causing unexpected financial strain on my business.
When I contacted Constellation to discuss adjusting the rate or exploring other options, I was informed that I am locked into the contract and that early termination would incur substantial fees.

We cancelled our 3-year fixed-rate contract with Constellation 2.1 years in. We noticed we were being charged a lot during summer months. The reported consumption was 500 to 1200 kwh higher than normal when compared with years prior to our contract with Constellation. We were paying $100 to $150 more than normal during those months. We reported the issue to Constellation, but they did not want to hear our side. I tried calling their phone number during posted hours, but nobody picked up. We communicated via email. They claimed our usage was normal and that we were not being overcharged. They stated that the meter readings were provided to them by PPL and they were not responsible for the amounts. They were unfriendly and made no effort to retain us as customers. The rate they are charging us is higher than PPL who is normally much higher than the average rate. They also charged us a $150 cancellation fee. I would not recommend them to anyone.

To cancel service thru Constellation on 8/14/2024 it took two different chats then a phone call - a total of. 1 hour 10 minutes! Seemingly because I did not include a phone number when signed up. I would not provide my phone number in the chats so Constellation said the only way I could cancel was to call altho they did not need my phone number to cancel!! I'm very disappointed in that company.

They have taken payment and not credited or updated my account to the point of disconnection. They won’t resolve the issue and never call back and keep disconnecting the call.

I would give this company ZERO stars if possible. Complete bull. They came into my business and basically forced my young female counter employee to sign this paper. She had NO idea what she was even signing for. They told her that prices of utilities were going to rise extremely and that she would be doing the owner a "favor" signing up for these services at NO cost to the company. They are quite literally charging me an ADDITIONAL 230-310 a MONTH on my bill for the SAME service that comed provides me. I don't think enough people realize this company is a complete and utter SCAM! DO NOT EVERRRR SIGN UP FOR ADDITIONAL "SERVICES" ON TOP OF YOUR UTILITY PROVIDERS, IT IS A PLOY TO TAKE YOUR MONEY! Now that I as the owner am trying to cancel this scammy service they are trying to charge me an early termination fee.

Constellation Energy turned off energy in the summer of 2023 in Katy & helped increase the mold count. On 9/19/2023 I called Constellation Energy and told them about my black mold count was 1,520,000 in my new home. I moved my myself & mom into a hotel till 2/3/2023 when I rented a house. I had my old monthly energy bills go to my old house. I added my new address on 2/3/2023 with Constellation Energy and requested both my bills come to my rental house. They did not send my old bill to me and cut of my electricity for just under a month. It was 100+ all summer. I paid the bills I never received, so my electricity could turn on. Constellation Energy is liable Mr breaching my contract. I never requested to turn off my electricity.

This company is a total scam. How dare they? Some people are gullible enough to actually believe that they are already customers and their "fixed rates" are about end. How, by the way, does this scam company know my actual CL&P account number? How does this company actually stay in business? This is false advertising and OUT RIGHT SCAMMING and LYING in an attempt to get business. I actually tried to call them to tell them to NEVER mail me again and ask how they gained access to my personal information but of course, I could not get anyone on the line. STAY AWAY.

After about 10 years of service with constellation I cancelled my account. After all balances were paid, the constellation team sent me a bill of over $500 stating that there was an outstanding balance due to an "error" in prior billing.
      Horrible people!

Write a complaint: constellation energy charged me over a 1000 dollars because I switch my devices due to me signing up for budget billing when I began service with them and as soon as my contact was ending the increased my rate from 3.7332 Per kwps to 5.4649 kwps. They also added a $150 term at ion fee on top of of the $1000 bill. Saying that I’m also being charge the difference for every month that I had budget billing due to me canceling their services. I’m very upset and I plan on taking legal actions if my account isn’t resolved.
