  I recently had the pleasure of working with Deck Helmet and its owner, *****, on rebuilding both my second-level deck and lower-level deck. Despite the challenge of working around an existing pergola, they did an amazing job, managing to rebuild the deck without dismantling the pergola. For this reason, ***** sent his go-to crew, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results.My wife and I are very picky and detail-oriented, and *****, who led the crew, was always one step ahead with all the answers to our questions. The Trex decking looks incredible, and the price quoted was well worth it. Once we decided to go with Deck Helmet, ***** sent a cleaning prep person the next day. The job was completed on time, and everything was left spotless.I am thrilled that I trusted ***** and couldn't be happier with the entire experience. Highly recommended!

  In one word bad experience. We wanted to get an appointment with Deck helmet and we did from 2-6 on 7/28. My wife wanted to get some info to see if the time could be narrowed to a smaller window. After waiting 15-20 minutes for a person she could speak to the Deck Helmet person told her she would send out a request to have a person from Deck Helmet call her. Person did call a bit later long and the short he mentioned he did not have to deal with my wife and then hung up on her. Good way to run a business!!! Will no longer consider Deck Helmet as a contractor we will use

  A representative from Deck Helmet came out to give us an estimate for resurfacing our deck which was previously resurfaced by Deck Helmet several years ago. After providing the estimate of $12,000.00, my wife asked if Deck Helmet would make sure the openings between the boards on the deck would remain open rather being than painted shut so rainwater could not stand on the deck. The Deck Helmet representative pointed to places that seemed to have no openings and insisted that it could not be done. When my wife tried to question him, he shut her down and spoke over her.
  
  When I attempted to ask if he could at least make sure the places where there were openings between the boards (which is most of the deck) could be kept open, he talked over me without allowing me to complete any statement. When I asked, if I he would stop taking over me and allow me to complete what I was trying to say, he abruptly stated, "We're not going to do this job," and left.
  
  It was one of the most unprofessional experiences I have ever encountered with any business. I had wanted to explain to him that when Deck Helmet did the job years ago, they left excess paint between the planks which made the job look careless and sloppy. When we asked the workers to clean it up, they did so then. I wanted to share this with the Deck Helmet representative so he could see that it could be done. He would not allow me to speak without him speaking over me. I was extremely disappointed with this company representative.

  bad at communication. I have not received any warrenty imformation.
  wanted to finance but couldn't as they didn't understand when I talked to salesperson.
  did not received any instruction for keeping deck free of ice and protection
  wish i had used someone else
