I have tried to cancel my contract several time in the past, only to be harassed daily by my "account manager" using my zip code to try to fool me in to thinking its a client. I have been a member for over a year, and have been ignored about my complaints about fake leads. I have notified there staff that I, ********************************************, am breakking ties with Wedding Pro, The knot, and Wedding Wire, as I have stated for over a year that my Wedding Wire Store Front was not working. I have also noticed that the display of "information" about my company is all wrong information, and when I brought this up with my rep, she said to "leave it as they have specialists who write these" In the past 6 months, I have received 33 leads, I was able to get ahold of 0/33 leads, I tried Via email and phone numbers provided to me, to find the email is bogus and the phone numbers have been changed. Because of Wedding Pro's failure to uphold their end of the contract, I am canceling this contract as of today 8/11/2022.

1/21/22 Contract signed with Wedding Wire/The Knot. I was promised big things on this called and was pushed to book after hearing all the amazing things I should expect. Here is an email I sent on 5/17/22:I wanted to reach out and go over a few things regarding the knot/wedding wire contract attached. I had my storefront phone call with the pro to ensure my account looks great to be seen and frankly I haven't had NEAR the traffic promised when signing up. When I was on the sales call with you going over what my business needed, size of my business, leads expected, I was excited when you said I would get an average of 116 brides viewing my information PER MONTH based on the package I selected with you. We talked about how that would be perfect because if I booked even 2-3 of those, that would be perfect and yet nothing near that is happening. I would like to talk about this because I am holding up my end of the contract with paying the monthly charge yet not getting near what I was told. I also have a few other issues I want to address: I was told I would receive an average of 116 visitors to MY profile per month resulting in several actual leads per month. From what I understand, these calls are recorded, so I would love to review this. REPLY FROM NATE AT THE KNOT TO MY EMAIL: "Thank you for sending all of this. These sort of fishy agents do tend to come in waves and yet I'm surprised at the volume. At the end of the day, those are not legitimate and I definitely am not asking you to consider those such. "MY RESPONSE: Thanks for the reply. I truly believe I am not getting anywhere near what I was told when signing up for WW/Knot. I feel like I am holding up my end of the deal by paying my monthly payment, yet I am under a contract that says that it does not matter. If there is negotiation on this to cancel the contract at this point, then I will look into further actions. Reply was that I could get an additional ad for free to help. To date only spam.

The knot automatically renews clients agreements with significant billing increases without providing any additional services or sufficient notice of these changes. I agreed to pay $240 a month for service and was told that every 12 months my service would “auto renew” with the same terms. To my surprise, I recently saw a charge for $338 on my bank account from this company. When I called to ask why, they stated I was sent an email explaining the auto renewal (email attached). This email came on 7/20, I was charged on 8/3 (charge attached). The email is worded to imply a customer is simply renewing an agreement, not getting their bill increased by such a large amount, and certainly was not sent or received30 days prior to the renewal. Per (815 ILCS 601/) Automatic Contract Renewal Act in Illinois, “ Written notice shall be provided to the consumer no less than 30 days and no more than 60 days before the cancellation deadline pursuant to the automatic renewal clause. Such written notice shall disclose clearly and conspicuously: (i) that unless the consumer cancels the contract it will automatically renew; and (ii) where the consumer can obtain details of the automatic renewal provision and cancellation procedure (for example, by contacting the business at a specified telephone number or address or by referring to the contract).” I was not given sufficient notice before being billed, didn’t not agree to the change in terms (payment) of my agreement, and did not authorize a charge to my bank account a higher amount. To any normal consumer, an automatic renewal simply means renewing the terms of an agreement, not a 27% increase overnight. This practice is extremely deceptive and meant to take advantage of customers. I have asked that I be allowed to continue under the same terms I agreed to, or to be refunded. Multiple reps with this company have refused to make any adjustments despite many complaints about these practices.

Our premium listings are for an initial 12 month term that automatically renews on a month to month contract unless the customer opts out with written notice per our contract terms (see attached). We sent this customer an email about upcoming renewal on 7/20/22 (as referenced by the customer). Illinois law does not apply as the applicable law under the agreement is Maryland. Please note our services are considered online service and the fact that the customer may reside outside MD does not affect the selection of the applicable law that vendors sign off on. If the customer or the BBB has any other questions, please let us know!

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The Knot charges clients differently based on the market they live and or do business in, not Maryland. The agreement that we entered into specifically applies to the Chicago market which is in Illinois doing business under Illinois law. “Online companies” still must respect the laws of the states they do business in. ******** (based in Pablo Alto) for example just settled a multi million dollar lawsuit with every user in Illinois for violating Illinois consumer protection and privacy laws. (https://www.***********************.com/). By this logic, ******** would be protected from litigation, clearly they were not.
Second, auto renewal month to month is not even my issue, I have worked with the Knot for 5 years now in multiple markets. The dishonest practice is is auto renewing while drastically changing the rate and terms of the agreement without sufficient notice. A 100 increase monthly is certainly a significant change that deserves sufficient notice to opt into. This company isn’t even denying they did not provide sufficient notice under Illinois law, nor have they justified the sudden increase in pricing they’re forcing people to pay without sufficient notice. .

Good day, I am a professional photographer, I made a contract with wedding wire thinking that I will make my mony back in days nd weeks as the told me over the phone. ,contacted by a very influential sales person who got payment of the services selling then sent contact via email not before. I pay 210 amonth for wedding leads and increase of business, but have not seen no sales, 11 leads and only fake lead and fake people asking to do business with me. I only had leads that lead to no where, no replys from the customer, reached out towedding wire and their acct mgr said cause my pictures are not drawing custmers and to put more and better pictures up on my site. Not happy with their customer service and service i asked for a cancel of the contract and was told and threated that i cant canel cause iam locked for a year to pay even if their service dont work for me and threaten to send my to collections if they dont get their money which is my money first. i only with them 2 months and ,I realized that this is a big scam and they are charging my credit card even though I asked them to cancel the contract,I need to cancel it and get a company who cares about their customers and the service they provide and success they gauranteed at the time of selling the services to me. which i have not seen. they said wait a little longer time to see results but pay and see nothing, who wants to hear oops sorry you didnt make money... but Wedding wire did. at this point this is an absolutely scam to many professional who work hard to make a living. not to be played with. its not fair playing with people livelyhood. I want my contract endedif not we are suing for false advertiment. and false presentation to obtain business sales, and selling my credit card info against my will.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Wedding wire Pro keep stating there scripted message and only is willing to so call update  words and pictures to our website. But this doesn't help or change what you are  paying for I the business owner is  unhappy with the service they are giving us. As the vendor we are paying a premium fee for advertising and marketing. But Wedding Wire pro doesn't help protect us from scammers, they don't push to get serious leads to login on, it free to lookers, they don't make sure their leads will turn into business, just leads that are casual and fake. they need to scrutinize their leads. This is my 6 fake lead this week. fake customer trying to steal money and services from us. Not Fair. WeddingWire pro leads don't turn into business . there is not a commitment from their leads like the  commitment they put  on the vendors. Wedding wire pro gets a financial guarantee from us and not from their leads, I got no business from their leads and in the sales pitch , we guarantee business from 67% more business in weeks time of this wedding season. Not happening . And we cant have a say in our money or control how our hard earn money is being spent. Not fair. They are running a monopoly scam and debt slavery business on us manny other people. There Acct Mgr doesn't care , only to say sorry at $210 a mont oops I'm sorry. expensive sorry for a sucker like me. .I don't agree  with their solution and want out Look at so many other people saying the same thing, i'm not the only one across the state. See them in court with their hided contract terms and lies I want out of my forced wedding wire pro contract. I got nothing and paying for nothing, is a lemon contract like a car it doesn't work.
