Not only did they have me pay around $4000 for a "lifetime" membership with "so many perks and travel dollars and points that add up" but the "dollars" constantly expire and when you try to use them, they don't even allow you to use more than 10% of them at a time. They told me that if I started paying $49 a month, my travel dollars could basically pay for my cruise and I would only owe a very small amount. So I did that for 6 months and when I checked, my dollars would be expiring the next month. I tried to use them for a cruise and the discount on the cruise was around $200 and even though I had $2300 in travel dollars, they could only apply $190 towards the cruise. So a cruise that was originally $2550 was now going o cost a little over $2100. I got upset and she told me not to worry because she could also apply my points which would bring it down to $2000. The only way this could be worth it for anyone, is if you go on vacation 10 times a year. We are teachers...that is clearly not happening! Also, once I tried using them to rent a car, and it was more expensive through them than it was going through my local rental place. It's a complete and utter scam.

NEA MEMBER BENEFIT TRAVEL PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP SCAM!
I have been a member for two years. When I signed up they promised me points and many other things.
Like two free trips to the places I wanted. I haven't used one in three years, because they want me to go to the places they offer. Additionally, when searching for trips they only offer me Mexico and a few others. When you are going to take them you can't because they are full. Also, problems with flights. They sell tickets to travel by plane at a very expensive price. It is twice as much as the airlines themselves or other apps. And now it's worse. For example, I wanted to buy a ticket for May 2 with a return on May 5. And the NEA employee with ID 9959 informs me that they do not sell tickets with that date. I pay 99 dollars a month to get good prices but the only thing I have managed to do is pay more for each ticket. I feel cheated and mistreated. They offered me benefits but these benefits are abusive. The employees tell you to wait, but they keep you waiting for 1 hour and then they cut you off. This is a complete scam.

      Dear Ms. C****,
We sincerely apologize for any frustration or inconvenience you have experienced with our NEA Travel Program. We understand your concerns and want to address them as promptly as possible.
First, we deeply regret any miscommunication regarding the benefits and terms of our travel program. It is never our intention to mislead our valued members. We acknowledge the issues you've encountered with redeeming points and the limited availability of destinations. We're actively working to improve our offerings and ensure a more seamless experience for all our members.
Arrivia, our partner, recognizes you were unable to book your vacation in March due to availability, there they have refunded your March membership fee of $99.
Additionally, regarding flight prices and specific dates, the NEA Travel Program aims to provide competitive rates that offer convenience and value but unfortunately at times airlines can restrict access to rates. It is disheartening to hear that you've found the prices to be higher than expected.
However, to accommodate your next booking, we’ve added $300 Vacation Cash, valid for 1-year to your account.
Your satisfaction is our top priority. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns further and work towards a resolution that meets your expectations. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at ************ or PM******@*********.
      Sincerely,
      Priya M******

NEA Member Travel Benefits (Arrivia) is a scam. They manipulate educators. The customer service agents provide contradictory & misleading information. Other educators, steer clear! I always do my best to read fine print in situations like this, however, that did not help.

I rented a rental car through the NEA Travel Benefits portal that got a flat tire. The car was supposed to be replaced (but was not) by the rental company as discussed on phone calls directly with the rental company. The rental car company took responsibility the day after and issued a full refund immediately. I did not receive the refund even though the rental company confirmed in their records it was sent. NEA Travel reps said that the rental car company was responsible, but that rental company had already proved they sent the money and they had done all they could. Several NEA Travel reps said there was nothing they could do. I attempted to call until someone responded to my claim and MANY calls, emails, and weeks later the issue finally got resolved. Also got a shaming email that they usually don't make such generous one-time exceptions when none of this was my fault. What travel company does not have a way to reimburse a failed reservation bc they "pay with vouchers"? A scam.

I was lied to about how I could use my points--original agent said I could use them for flights, not true. I was told there are price matches for flights, hotels, and rental cars. When I called to get a price match they said they only do price matches on public booking websites. When I found a price on a public site (of one of the 3 they provided as a site they match with), they said they don't actually match prices for flights. Direct contradiction to what they had just told me. Multiple reps made it sound like points go towards an entire reservation, but it turned out to be only a percentage of the reservation cost.

I have loads more info with details of deception. Do not be fooled by NEA Travel Benefits by Arrivia.

I cannot begin to express my hostility that I feel towards this company. I've been getting run around after run around, been lied to and feel completely cheated out of my hard earned money. I booked a cruise and was told that 80000 points would get me a free cruise but come to find out the 80000 points was no more than $620 towards a cruise. NO JOKE! So, to make matters worse I thought I could earn more points to put down on the balance of my cruise booking for paying a $100 a month for over a year which I now regret. I was clearly told.that my points that I earned for continuing the membership could also be used to pay down the balance of my cruise. Not so says another cruise agent just recently and then he said let me check on it and I will get back to you. He and the others following seemed to have forgotten about me because no one will call me back to straighten out their inconsistencies. After I called and called.promises were made from 3 Managers but, none of them are doing anything except blowing me off. Another issue that is even worse is that NCL rebooted my cruise and changed my destination after I decided to postpone it for a year since my girlfriend was not able to get vaccinated. I was given a balance from NCL and a different balance that was significantly higher from NEA and no one from this company will properly help me to speak to NCL to give me a piece of mind about the difference in pricing. NCL will now not talk to me as they were not supposed to interfere in other travel agents customers bookings in the first place and NEA will not follow up with the person from NCL that said she would be happy to receive a call in order to confirm balance owed. This is not fair to me and I am in a pickle it feels like when I deserve some effort from both companies in order to to resolve my untrust towards my cruise balance. If this is happening to me then don't be surprised when you get lied to and the full run around. I feel like I am being punked!

Prior to this being brought to NEA MB's attention, this complaint had been resolved by NEA Travel program provider, Arrivia. The partner spoke to Mr. M and apologized for the inconvenience this has caused. He received an added $200.00 of onboard credit for his upcoming cruise. He also had his 15,000 points that had expired extended. Further, the agent who reached ot to Mr. M. assisted him with booking another cruise.

Neither our partner Arriva nor our Member Advocacy Center had records of this member calling in and not getting callbacks so we are all unsure of that claim. Perhaps it was with the cruiseline itself.
However, it resolved now and the member seems happy.
