2/11/25- I had my car repossessed. I had every intention to get my car back. This rude lady made it so hard. she was nasty on the phone. she never answered with proper etiquette. she would say smart s*** out her mouth. she wouldnt answer the phone purposely and would hang up on you. but theres more to this. my fiance gave my key to the man who picked up my car. this company is trying to charge me a key fee. they made a new key for no reason when i gave my original. now my original key is missing and i have this random key with no button to lock my doors or anything. i literally gave my key fob. i will not be paying for a key that i didnt even need when my original key was given. even my lender knows my document says key fee in the amount of ZERO. document attachedBusiness Response

On 11/5/2024 at roughly 10:30pm, my boyfriend and I were driving down the alley away from his place. We were in a 2019 Jeep Compass, rental vehicle from ***** that my insurance company was paying for. As we were driving down the road, a tow truck suddenly turned down the alley and drove towards us in reverse. WHILE WE WERE STILL DRI***G FORWARD. My bf immediately slammed on the brakes to avoid not only smacking into the back end of the truck, but driving up onto it. Since we had no idea what was going on, my bf proceeded to put the vehicle in reverse and drive backwards down the alley, out first thinking the truck maybe couldn't see us. While the toe truck came barreling towards us and my bf didnt feel safe continuing to try and drive in reverse down the narrow alley, he slowed but did not stop and we waited for the tow truck to plow into us. Instead, the truck eventually hooked up to our vehicle, locked the wheels, and lifted slightly, all while we were STILL IN THE VEHICLE. This truck hooked up to us while we were still driving in reverse! So not only were we still in motion, but we were in the vehicle when he connected to it. The truck driver then told us the vehicle was reported stolen, had NO PAPERWORK showing this, and had NEVER even checked the *** or anything before this repo. The vehicle was NOT stolen.I am 33 weeks pregnant, high risk, and lived in this vehicle with my 4 children. This entire incident was horrifying. My bf and I legitimately thought we were going to be hit and killed by this truck. Then the crime and dangerous act of hooking up to a MO***G VEHICLE with OCCUPANTS IN SAID VEHICLE. On top of the fact that we objected to the repo of the vehicle but he proceeded to threaten us and refused to unhook from the vehicle that he had illegally hooked up to in the first place. I am rejecting this response because:There were witnesses. Judt because you reject it doesn't mean it's not factual. You preformed an illegal repossession. Just because you're a repo company doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. It doesn't mean you can act in ways that put people's safety or lives at risk. Which is exactly what your driver did. You're accountable for the actions of your driver. Denying it doesn't change what your driver did. He put LIVES AT RISK that night. He acted in a way that was ILLEGAL. He committed a crime. Your company is responsible for it.
So respectfully, you need to hold him accountable and make this right. There were witnesses to what he did and how he did it. He could have killed someone. The responsible thing as a company is to take responsibility.

My car was repossessed and taken to the auto auction to be sold. I was given a date to come and pick up my belongings that were taken from the car. Once getting the money together to recover my car, I noticed that several items were missing and not returned to me. One of which is the tire and rim to my car which was in the trunk because I had just got a flat tire prior to the repossession. After asking the employees there, I was told to contact my insurance company because they didnt know what happened to the tire. Of course once contacting the insurance company, they informed me that there is nothing they can do because its not an auto accident or related to anything I can file a claim for. I should not be responsible for replacing my rim for my car, which is at least $150 because this business is not following the rules or policies. Someone should be held accountable.Initial Complaint

This business is involved in repossessions. They have been absolutely terrible. They are refusing to release my vehicle as they themselves lost my license inside the vehicle during repossession. I am now stranded 4 hours away from home and racking up hundreds of dollars of hotel fees because they refuse to accept a veterans military ID. The state police were called and even stated they would accept a picture of my id on my phone if they were to pull me over. To add insult to injury one of the recovery agents put his hands on me during the repossession process and got physical. I am at Risk of losing everything because of thisBusiness Response

My car was temporarily repossessed and I had to go through this horrendous business to get it back. My complaint is 3-fold:1. The business was incredibly rude and hostile on the phone, in addition to placing me on long holds without warning and failing to acknowledge Release and Redemption records shared electronically with them in a timely fashion, resulting in a 24 hour delay in the recovery of my vehicle and a higher fee.2. The $250 cash fee demanded by the business was $100 higher than that quoted to me by my car loan company, who contracted them through an intermediary.3. When the worker at the lot requested the $250 cash, I cleared asked for a receipt before handing him the cash. He took the cash and immediately walked away. When he returned 20 minutes later with papers to sign for my car, he refused to provide (a) a receipt for the $250 cash and (b) a copy of the signed paperwork. When someone goes to the *** they do not write a complaint about how many hours they are sitting and waiting for someone to wait on them . We are a repossession company and if you have any issues reach out to your lienholder as they are ones that instruct us to do whatever. Sorry your repossession experience was not pleasurable. Company was contracted to repo my car. Once I paid my dues on my car, the company gave me AMJ's number so i could get my car back. They would not answer the phone, instead it would go to a full voicemail. I even called the company that contracted them to see if they could reach them, after several attempts, they couldnt either. 19 times it took me, including times they would answer and not say anything. Lady i spoke to was instantly rude and nasty. Told me $250 to get my car that day, $50/day added on after that when I asked for a slightly later time window (2 - 3pm). At the fenced lot, nobody at gate, no instructions. When I looked through the fence saw 3 people including the lady I believe I talked on the phone with (50ft away) I asked for assistance. She began to yell at me to get away from her fence. I asked for her to come talk to me. She said since you wont listen, i am not giving you your car today, come back another day. Out by the road was people standing. They too were waiting and had same interactions. All of us were given different storage fees, 1 guy was lied to when she told him they auctioned his call already when they didnt. Some people took over 3 days to get intouch with her, which raised the fees they had to pay to get their car. Cash only, no receipts, no consistency in price. Cops were even called by one person, cops said this has been an on going issue with this business and they recommended contacting you, the State AG, and possibly an attorney. I have more details to say, but limited characters to write. This place needs shutdown or at least their licenses to be an impound revoked. Their finances also need to be investigated. Everything I stated is 100% true.
Due to limited space during my initial complaint, I had to supply a very brief description on what occurred. I will attach I more complete overview of what occurred. I will also attach a screenshot on my outgoing calls that show me calling the cell phone and the number the business shares online as their number. I can also supply some cell phone footage that shows some of the interactions that day; however, this web page doesn't have MP4 as a file type that can be sent, so I would need a different way to send said footage.
Since this interaction occurred just like I have stated, and the business's only response is that it did not, I am willing to do whatever it takes to prove what I am saying. I have nothing to hide, only they do.

If a phone number was located online it does not mean it is the company's cell line and if the number would happen to be a cell line no one would contact you from the cell line. Nothing in AMJ's response addresses anything I stated. Out of factual statements I made, their entire response was in regards my statement stating I "believed" the number that I reached the lady at was a "cell phone." The only other thing addressed in their response was that any phone number obtained online for the business "is not supplied" by their company. These comments were in response to the fact that I stated I could not reach anyone at the number I was supplied with by ALS Resolvion, the 3rd party company hired AMJ to repossess and store my vehicle. The number given to me, which is the number I believed was a cell phone number, when dialed, would either go straight to a FULL voicemail or would ring a few times then go to the FULL voicemail. After numerous attempts that day, I ******* AMJ for a secondary or correct number to call. Upon ******** the company, I came across the second number I eventually called, which would ring, but that is it, nobody answered, nor did any answering services. Online I noticed dozens of horrible reviews stating the same thing about the phone number given by ALS, that nobody would answer, sometimes for days, and it would only go to a voicemail that was FULL. This is when I contacted ALS again hoping for them to have a secondary number or additional way to reach AMJ. ALS then attempted numerous times to contact AMJ while I was on hold, without any luck as well.
So again, at no time did I say the primary number given was a cell phone, I only stated I believed it was. And I only resorted to locating a secondary numbers because of the issues with the primary.
I am concerned with the fact that with everything that happened that day and then with my recounts of that day here with the BBB, AMJ's responses have been, that nothing I said was true and then a paragraph solely speaking about the fact that they do not use cell phones and other numbers online are not supplied by them. Their response addresses absolutely nothing of substance, nor anything that occurred that day.
I continue to believe I will get no where with them (AMJ). I know they will never admit to me (via the BBB) that they did the things they did and that they, at a very minimum, are taking advantage of people in a bad situation and have been for many years.AMJ should be investigated for wrongdoings and at a minimum, lose their repossession/impound licenses and contracts to do so. I will continue to request and advise this to happen via the BBB and other organizations and authorities I am in contact with. I also do not appreciate being called a lair nor threatened for solely speaking the truth. You (AMJ) have already crossed the line last month with inappropriate behavior and threats. You threatened to not give me my vehicle back that day, only because I tried asking a simple questions such as, "how does this work [getting my car back]?" .. "Can someone please come talk to me [instead of yell at me from 50ft behind a locked gate]?"

My car got repossessed by the bank. I went through everything I had to get my car back. This company you call the number that the recovery service gives you and it goes right to voicemail. Then the message for the voicemail is that the mailbox is full. I called them 5-6 times to try to get a person. Then when you actually get a person. She is rude and unprofessional. She only gives you an hour window in the middle of the day and wont even work with you. Then when you get there they will take your key and licence somewhere in the lot and then she will make you wait. This location is a location that is in the woods and there is no safe place to wait. You have to wait on a road that has a blind curve with other people parked on both sides of the small road no matter the weather. It is very unprofessional and it lacks even the slightest bit of care. This company needs to be forced to go out of business or taken over by a person who actually cares. A repossion is already stressful enough. There shouldn't be even more stress to try to get your personal property back. This company really needs to be taken out of business.
I have already filed complaints with the chamber of commerance, My bank and the recovery service that actully hires this company, I will go through what ever i need to to make sure someone else isn't put through the same situation i have been.Business Response
