Capital Remodeling and Ms. ****** ****** contacted for kitchen remodeling work on 12/12/2024 with an approximate start date between 3/12/2025 and 5/12/2025. Capital performed a final inspection on 12/23/24 when a second document was signed titled "What Should My Expectation of My Project Be?". This again stated that the approximate start date would be 3/12/25 to 5/12/25 and has a section that is underlined and starred "The installation dates on your contract are approximate only and we will do our best to install within those dates." After this final inspection Capital then ordered the custom cabinets that are specific only for Ms. ******** home. On 2/12/25 some minor changes were made to the contract and Capital again had on the addendum an approximate start date of 3/26/25 to 5/26/25. This was now the third notification that our work would be started during that time period.
On 3/7/25 we received a call from Ms. ****** asking about the start date. We informed her we are waiting on a few more parts and once those are in we can call her with an exact start date. On 4/2/25 we contacted Ms. ****** and scheduled the project for 4/16/25, well within our numerous signed documents with approximate start dates. On 4/16/25 our installers had an emergency and we wanted to move the start date back one day, to 4/17/25. At this time Ms. ****** and *** ****** (who is not on the contract) attempted to cancel. We did not have two start dates that we canceled. There was one start date that was to be moved back just one day.
We made several attempts to schedule an install date however Ms. ****** refused. On 5/6/25 she stated that she paid $5000 to have some repair work done instead of proceeding with our legal contract. While we had no obligation to do so, this is when we offered her $3000 off to resolve the issue and get her cabinets, etc. installed.
All of the above is documented and both parties have all of the legal documents in both of our possessions. Capital is only attempting to proceed with our legal contract and install what was ordered. It's everyone best interest to resolve this amicably and proceed with the contract but please note all of the terms and conditions on the contract should we have to go to court including pre and post judgment interest and the consumer payment of Capital's attorney fees and court costs. Thank you.

I am reaching out regarding several unprofessional (and a threatening) experiences with your sales staff. I went to an open house of yours a few weeks ago, and while the staff was friendly, I did state I was not ready to move forward with a project at this time, and that I would initiate communication if anything changes. While I don't appreciate a follow-up phone call, I found it to be nothing more than a minor inconvenience. The woman on the line said she had an appointment set up already and was confirming the time, to which I told her she must have the wrong number as I never set up anything up. She was pleasant and apologetic, and I thought that would be the last of our communication.
Today I received yet another call from this number - 240-********?. When I answered the call, the gentleman stated he was once again confirming my appointment. Frustrated that the previous representative did not correct this by taking me off the schedule, I hung up. He immediately called back but I did not answer. I do want to note that when I searched this number online, it shows as a business that terrible reviews and is also closed.
I then received another call right after, from 301-********?. It was the same person, and while he had previously been polite, his tone was now completely different. IT was threatening, and he stated "we will be at your house at 5pm" and immediately hung up before I could talk. While I did not catch his name, this phone number shows as Richard B*****, which I confirmed is a salesperson on your team -*************************************************. I've also attached the voicemail he left from either the 1st or 2nd call, if you'd like to also confirm his voice.
This is written confirmation I do not authorize anyone to come to my home, otherwise I will be calling the police and reporting to the proper authorities.Business Response

We had in our system that Ms. ** *** stopped by one of our open houses from a project in their neighborhood that we completed. Our system shows we scheduled an appointment for Monday 2/25/25 at 5:00. That the kitchen is a project Ms. *** was looking to do in the future and was unsure of what colors or styles she wanted. She possibly wanted a layout change and would like a designers help. We have her name, address, phone number, she has been in the home for 17 years and the home was 43 years old.
We apologize if there was some miscommunication and we will delete her number from our system and we will not be sending anyone to the home.
Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: This response is misleading - I specifically made it clear to the sales team at the open house that I was NOT interested in being contacted or setting up an appointment at this time. Someone then called me about a week prior to this incident and stated there was an appointment setup when I never did such a thing - I had zero communication of any kind after the open house, much less setting up a time for someone to come by. This also focuses on this fake appointment they are claiming to have in their system, but takes away the attention from a sales person on their team harassing people from multiple phone numbers when the customer doesn't want to be contacted.

Kevin came into my home to give estimates and broke a window in the process. He admitted to breaking the window accidentally and promised to get it fixed asap. It’s been a week of no communication so I called the main office and spoke to Richard who described himself to be an authority at the company. Richard informed me the company does NOT do repairs and will not fix the window and if I wanted to get quotes that was my doing and “he’ll see how much he’ll give me”. It’s winter and temperatures are before 15 degrees at night and I’m left no choice but to warn people to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND DO NOT LET THEM IN YOUR HOME! Richard is very rude and clearly cannot take responsibility for his employees.Business Response

Kevin went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. **** and while examining the window cracked the glass. As you can see in the picture there is a crack but the glass is still in tact. We have been in communication with Mr. and Mrs. **** so we can resolve this issue.
Mr. and Mrs. **** is not a customer of ours as we did not contract for the windows. Regardless, the marketing rep did accidentally crack the glass and the repairs are being resolved.

I recieved an estimate for the replacement of the window and have added the document to the portal. This company is licensed, insured and able to complete the job in the upcoming week. Please note that it is winter and my family and I and forced to go to a hotel during freezing temperatures. I’ve instructed Kevin that this climate is unbearable for my children, my wife and I with a broken window.Initial Complaint

The beginning of the business relationship with this company started in November of 2021 and has continued until about 8 weeks ago. I am not looking to have any further contact with the company as a result of the lack of resolution on the following complaint. I have an disagreed balance with the company after paying a total of more than $12k. The relationship started as a result of meeting with a sales consultant and signing an agreement to have new windows installed on my home. This project was presented that the new windows would be installed in 6 weeks. I actually had to make multiple phone calls and messages to be told that it was delayed. We did not even have a start to the project until May of 2022. The project took until the end of 2022 as a result of the incorrect sizes delivered creating a challenge for the installation. Once I received a bill on the windows from ***** ***** I started paying the agreed payment. We were to receive 18 months of interest free from the completion. They tried to have me sign off for a completion in May after the first visit which I refused. There were at least 5 additional visits to try and complete the job. Unfortunately, they had someone sign off that it was completed which was not me. I was told that the form I saw was an internal form that it was only for their view. This does not make sense as you will see the attached communication when the company tried to have me sign when it was not completed. I was billed all the interest accrued from a date that was not a full 18 months from completion. At this point after accepting a known signature that was not mine and the lack of completion at a reasonable time I feel that the balance should be forgiven at a minimum. Capital Remodeling states that this is a ***** ***** decision and ***** ***** states that this is a Capital Remodeling decision so I am in hopes that this can be resolved by using this method. I have also given more details in the explanation below.Business Response

Mrs. ****** signed a contract with Capital Remodeling for
custom replacement windows on 11/8/21, agreeing to terms of 18months same as
cash which was set to begin after the work was completed. The contract had
estimated install dates of 2/8/22-2/22/22 however, there was a manufacturing
delay which pushed install back to 5/4/22. On 5/5/22, we spoke with Mrs. ******
to confirm the install and she said all windows were installed but she was
missing 4 screens. At that time, we re-ordered the missing screens. On 6/30/22,
our installer went back out for service, unfortunately one of the screens did
not fit, we re-ordered again. Our installer went out for 2nd service
on 8/12/22 however, the new screen was ripped and could not be re-meshed on
site, so we re-ordered again. The screen was installed and job was 100%
completed on 9/23/22. We called Mrs. ****** 2 times on 9/26/22 and again on
9/27/22 to confirm install was completed with no outstanding issues, but she
did not answer or return our calls. We confirmed with the installer on 9/27/22
that the job was completed and we funded the loan at that time.
On 5/23/24, we received a notification from ***** ***** that
Mrs. ****** stated we funded her loan before the work was completed as she
claimed work wasn’t done until February 2023. Documentation was sent to *****
***** per their request. ***** ***** said they could only extend the same as
cash date on her loan if we agreed to the work completed date as Feb 2023 as
the customer stated, but none of our records indicate that date is correct.
Mrs. ****** called our corporate office on 7/24/24, this was
the first contact we had with her since the install was completed. At this
time, we went over the dates of service and our records on when the job was
completed. Mrs. ****** said she was out of town for the date of the last
service but we agreed that since it had been almost 2 years, maybe she got the
dates mixed up. She was upset that her same as cash period had ended and
thought she had more time to pay without interest. We advised her to call *****
***** as they would not be able to speak with us directly regarding her
account. This was the last communication we had with Mrs. ******.Thank you

We had our kitchen remodeled, they told us that the kitchen is done, but we have some unfinished cabinets five of them that are not done. They don’t have the same design as the rest of them. They told us that they don’t make those canvas anymore. Basically that wasn’t the agreement and they can’t do anything about it and we want our cabinets all to look the same because that was what we were told. We were never told anything different.Business Response

Kitchen remodeling was done from Jan 7 2024 to february 16th 2024. Remodeling included new countertops, backsplash, cabinets, pantry, sink, installing laminate floors, moving fridge and dishwasher to another area in the kitchen. Job completed satisfactorily. However, we came from a trip on March 26 and there was a puddle of water coming from under the dishwasher that had leaked down to the basement. Called ********** and they said that there is no pipes in the area of the leak and that it is in fact the dishwasher leaking onto the floor. The leak caused damaged to the newly installed flooring and since Capitol remodeling are the last people to install my dishwasher, my husband and i reached out to Justin to see what can be done and all we received back was a generic email with warranties to the sink, faucet, cabinets and backsplash that was installed. We left a voicemail with customer service nothing.
We accidently missed a call from their marketing asking us when would be a good time to have an open house for the newly installed kitchen, we called back and left them a message regarding the issue with the flooring... we have yet to hear back from them... i just want the flooring that was damaged from the leak to be changed.Business Response

To Whom It May Concern,
Capital has been to the home to investigate any damage and has scheduled the repair for 4/25/24. Looking through our notes and phone log we show no report of a leak or of any damage so unfortunately there was some miscommunication somewhere. We are glad that it all got worked out and the repair will be done tomorrow.

On 11/18/23 i had a sales rep from Capital Remodeling come to my house and give me an estimate for 4 windows, the price was reasonable so we accepted and gave a deposit of $1400 towards the whole price of $5400, they were to get us financing for the additional $4000 which should not be a problem as we make more than enough to cover the monthly, on 11/30/23 i got an email asking for my credit report to be unlocked which i did and replied saying that it was done on 12/1/23, at this point as i dont check my email constantly i asked to get texted anytime something was needed, then on 12/6/23 i got another email asking for information on my mortgage payment as the wrong amount was put on the info sent to the bank, i guess my mistake i gave the wrong amount, no text was sent and i did not see this email until 12/19/23 when i got a call from the regional manager asking for it and i gave him the info, then on 01/02/24 i called asking about install dates and left a VM as getting anyone on the phone is near impossible, i got a text back a couple of hours later saying asking for the same info i had given a couple of weeks before, i gave the info again over text this time, the sales man over text assured me that with this the windows would go into production ASAP and be installed 5 to 6 weeks he sent a new DocuSign which i completed and that was that, then on 01/31/24 i got another text asking for more info on my wife`s income and also after the guy came to take measurements there was a new contract drawn up cause the price was going up due to the need for tempered glass which i thought was already included, at this point i started tring to get someone on the phone with no luck for days, finally i sent a text saying i wanted to cancel they said they would just not charge the extra then more info was requested a few times and when i finally got someone on the phone i was told we cant cancel as the 3 day cancelation window has passed, but it passed even before 11/30/23 so???Business Response

To who it may concern,
As you can see from the email and text exchanges, we were spending an exorbitant amount of time attempting to get our client approved through our 3rd party financing. Unfortunately, as any lender does, they require income, etc to be provided and make sense. When the income, etc does not add up, there are just simple explanations needed along with the proof. You can imagine that any lender lending money wants to make sure they get paid back. We apologize if the questions were annoying or cumbersome but in this case they were necessary. We did get our client approved and are ready to get them on the schedule and install the windows. If at any time any of our financing clients would like to pay cash, they can certainly do so. In fact our contract states that the remodeling work is independent of the financing. As we did get our client approved, and the three day rescission has passed, we do have a valid enforceable contract.
Thank you and please let us know when you would like us to install your custom made windows.

I am rejecting this response because:The three day rescission passed even before the first time i was asked for any information, also the company did not follow my explicit instructions to text me anytime anything was needed from me as i do not check my email every day, second i have been told " we are ready to proceed with install" numerous times and every time something else comes up, it wasn`t until i asked to cancel that someone finally called me to straighten everything out and by that point as i told that person (Eric B****) the house was being sold so i no longer need the services, yet he insisted that they could not refund the $1400.00 dollars and tried pressuring me into going forward with the install, thats when i told him to just keep the money as they seem to need it more than me, however after researching the company i see they have had issues like this in the past and decided to fight them, i have an attorney looking into the matter as well and she advised me to take this action to see if we can resolve the issue instead of going for legal action right away, the windows have not been made this i know as Eric said so himself, so the company has not lost anything yet they prefer having a complaint filed against them over refunding $1400.00? this is supposed to be a huge company, are they so hard up for cash?

I had my Initial consultation with the marketing specialist on August 5th.
I agreed to pay an initial down payment of $4,462 towards a total of $13,388 for a complete shower remodel. which was advertised to be very quality, and the marketer Johnny J****** appeared to understand and agree to everything I was saying.
Together we went over the specifications of the shower and shower configuration including that I wanted to utilize all available space possible. Not only did the marketer state he understands that I wanted to use all of the space possible for my shower, but he agreed as he was taking the measurements as well. The shower walls go across the entire way, however the shower floor displayed in the photo attached are several inches short which is very frustrating for a shower so small and seeing as I would have to get some demolition all over again just for the sake of correcting the issue this company performed. When I inquired about the issues in the emails attached, they sent the installers back who were not the ones who should answer for the companies' mishaps, and that was wrong of the company to waste mine and someone else's time over this. While the installers were over however, I was informed by one of them that all of the certain type of shower floor they install are the same size, so I was mislead into thinking that I would receive the size I requested, when in fact that was never going to be the case. The shower floor also has excessive amounts of give in several places which indicate that there is either a suboptimal foaming system used, or not one at all. This is especially frustrating because it is in explicit contrary to what was advertised to me by the marketing salesmen, and did not match the example of the foamed flooring that I was able to hold in my hand before signing any agreement.
I wholeheartedly feel ripped off, and am frustrated because all things considered this job was effectively not even worth the down payment placed.Business Response

It's unfortunate we have an unhappy customer as that is obviously never our intention. Our contract calls for a 58" x 29" shower pan and we did install as per contract. In fact it appears that we extended the pan even wider than the contract dimensions stated.
As far as the give in the floor we had an installer out however we were not permitted to inspect the work. We would be more than happy to send an installer back out for an inspection if permitted to do so. Please let us know.

I am rejecting this response because: Capital Remodel has merely sent a representative who made a bunch of pathetic excuses on behalf of the company. I was able to finally get the gentlemen to admit that if Capital Remodel was only able to get the job completed a certain way, then I should have been advised of that.Secondly, I do not invite Capital Remodel to give any response to the Better Business Bureau that is not substantiative. It is clear that they simply want to make it appear as if they have made an effort. However, and as demonstrated in the emails I was able to attach, they were extremely reluctant to pursue any actual solution.
I am still waiting on their response, and they have been extremely slow to address a simple manner, they are clearly just responding in order to send the complaint back over to me in order to require a response from me, and that is pathetic.
They also did not hesitate to reach out to service financial and falsely report to them that they have completed the job, which they clearly have not and have not even answered my concerns. I am stuck here paying for a job that I already put one-third of the payment in the first place, and now they rushed to leach the rest of my money away as well. They are taking advantage of Service Financials willingness to pay a job out on the assumption that they are telling the truth. And on the other hand, Capital Remodel is willingly doing business with a company on this basis, and Service Financial basically explained to me that there is nothing they can do and would only ever send an email to Capital Remodel. This shows that Capital Remodel is taking advantage of Service Financials willingness to take advantage of others and their situations which may well include being left with a job not finished, or something they did not even pay for.
This ordeal has caused me more strife than the entirety of Capital Remodel is even worth, and I intend to hold them accountable for their unprofessional behavior.
Sincerely,
**** *******Business Response

Looking up the appointment, the customer called us for an estimate and an appointment was scheduled. We actually visited their home on 11.27.23 however the homeowner did not allow us to complete the presentation as they had to leave. We rescheduled for a second visit the next day and the same representative was sent out as per our scheduled appointment. While the representative was on the way to the house for the second time, we spoke with both Mr. and Mrs. ********** and they informed us to stop him from coming as they won't be home and they are no longer interested. There was a conversation as to why they were canceling, made attempts to allow us to complete the presentation, and then eventually cancelled it and called the rep to turn around. Capital has removed this potential client's number from our lists. Rick is in a center where there are others and there is never any screaming. If the client is interested in the future to see the rest of our presentation and obtain an estimate please call us so that we can schedule a third appointment. Thank youInitial Complaint

Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
