I was a patient at Tidewater Dental of ********* but have not been there for about 18 months and owe no current or past due balance. Out of the blue, I received a text message indicating that I had a bill due for $12 with instructions to pay it. I was alarmed because I have no balance due there nor have I been there in such a long time. I read further into the text message and it says: "We are pleased to enroll you in the ProSmile Concierge Program for $1/Month-$12/Year! To learn more about the benefits or to opt-out, please visit this link"So what this company did was to auto-enroll me in a program without my consent, then have the audacity to bill me for it. Going even further, I am now forced to go thru their Opt-Out process which is adding more inconvenience to my already busy day. I wonder, what if my number changed and this non-consensual auto-enrollment was never paid. Would they send to collections. This is 100% how you lose clients and I would recommend others to avoid this business.

My dental coverage covers fluoride treatments 100% but everytime I get a cleaning they tell me that it's not covered and if I want the fluoride I need to pay $18. I was told by Tidewater to contact my insurance provider about the coverage and this dispute so I did just that and had a rep from CareFirst call Tidewater Dental to tell them that "YES my fluoride is covered" the office person at Tidewater would not look into the error and told the rep they have over 8,000 patients and don't have the time to figure it out and that I will owe the money, they can't change anything because they use a third party billing!!! SERIOUSLY!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND Tidewater!!! All they care about is money and not the patients.
