This dealership is okay with taking $1,000 non-refundable deposits on cars since “they take them off the market” for you. Even if you should decide you don’t want the vehicle, they keep your $1,000 and can turn around and sell the car anyway. I’m told this is an illegal practice in Maryland but they seem to be getting away with it anyway. Car dealers already have a hard time being seen as trustworthy and I’d say that this one is no exception. Buyers beware.

To clarify, our policy on non-refundable deposits has remained consistent for the past seven years and is fully compliant with Maryland state laws. It is clearly documented in writing and presented to every customer before any agreement is made. The purpose of this policy is to allow serious buyers the opportunity to secure a vehicle while finalizing their purchasing arrangements. This approach has helped many of our customers, especially when considering rare or in-demand vehicles. In your case, you expressed interest in a unique, low-mileage V8 *****. However, without a deposit, we cannot take any vehicle off the market, as we must remain fair to all customers. While we understand your disappointment, we always encourage serious buyers to place a deposit if they wish to secure a car.We appreciate your perspective and regret that we werent able to meet your expectations.
