    Hometech charged $1620.00 without my consent on January 2, 2025 and have not responded phone calls or emails. I ordered books from them in January 2021 but have had no interaction with them since this time.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    I paid for the books and recieved a few months of the online service. Maybe 6 months. At the end of this trial period I did not renew it as I didn't want it. I never recieved a statement, email, or phone call as to my having to pay for this. I would have canceled it immediately since I didn't want it. I have tried to sign in to the website and it does not recognize my email or password. 

    I called multiple times and left a voice message and emailed, having  never recieved a response. 

    This is a simple case of fraud. If needed, I will continue with the investigation with my bank and if necessary I can move this into the legal system. If I were in the wrong, I would accept this and pay but I have done nothing wrong.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
    I have found where I subscribed not realizing that it was a continuous service. I do recommend that Hometech send something via email letting people know that the yearly fee is coming up. I have gone on to the site and canceled the subscription. Will I be refunded this years fee? Once again, they dont seem to respond to emails and phone messages which is why Im asking here.

    I have been trying to cancel my subscription for the $540.00 yearly service. I have emailed *****, and the whole sales team and no one replies to emails or voicemails. I don't even have an active login to the service, and I have mentioned this to them with no replies. There is no customer service. I gave them the chance to reply and cancel, but I have decided to block this merchant from any future transactions and write this review. I would stay away and not recommend at all.

    Mr **** does have a valid login as seen here: ****** Paez703-327-1100  username is ********************* he can login at anytime.If he has password issues there is a password reset link directly on the login page, as well as a biling tab prominently displayed on the users dashboard where any adjustments/******** can occur at any time.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    Yes, as of now the login works. I have submitted multiple requests to cancel my subscription with no avail. I want to make sure they are not charging me any longer and that they refund me from the charge in 2024. I also want to make sure that future clients, if they are still getting them, don't fall for their good new client services to no service at all after being a customer. Cancelling service is absurd. You can't do it without intervention.

    More Information...All users accounts are self managed and this is done through the billing tab displayed prominently on each users dashboard. Accounts can be started and stopped at anytime here, plans can be changed , and users have the ability to Cancel & change plan here.If the user chooses cancel, it cancels their account and access. If the user changes their billing plan it can either from monthly to yearly, or yearly to monthly. - monthly is $54/mo, and yearly is $540..Some users have multiple plans , some users change plans multiple times, as they see fit or for yearly savings.

    On June 01 I paid the publishing company approximately $5000 CND for 200 home inspection books. It took a long time to finally receive some of my books. Although they had a lot of mistakes, I accepted them. I received half of my order. I was assured the other half was coming, but it never did. I also got sent another 20 books of another kind that I didnt ask for. I was charged another $500CDN. I was assured that I would be receiving the remainder of my order and would be credited for the books I didnt order. For the last few months they refuse to answer my calls, texts and emails.

    Hello. This issue has not been resolved. The answer is always the same. The second part of my order has still not been received and I dont like the answer by Hometech. Never, has there been a refund. I have Mastercard references showing what I paid. There is no refund showing on my end. However, its the rest of the order that Im requesting. We made a deal and it was broken at Hometechs end. I would like them to finish our deal or refund me my money, so I can find someone else to do it for me if Hometech is unable to fulfill my order.

    I originally purchased there product back in 2015. It is an estimating software that I paid around $600 for. Around 2018 they discontinued updates for the software and went to a cloud based system. I didn't like the cloud based system and instead just continued to use my software. About 2 months ago my computer crashed and I lost the software. I called the company to inquire if I can still download the software and was informed I could not. The person I spoke to offered me 3 months free for the cloud based system. I agreed to it to give it another shot to see if I liked it or not still. Well they charged me the $54 fee the next day so I called to dispute that and I've been calling ever since. I've also sent them emails requesting they cancel their service and to refund me the money. Since the email I sent they have not canceled the service and charged my card again for a total of $108. I've never gotten a response from them and no one ever picks up the phone or returns calls. I would just like to have the service canceled and a refund of $108.

    Here is the email I sent on October 25th to try and cancel my subscription. There isnt an option to cancel service through their website. Only a phone number and an email address that they dont answer or return

    I use a product from Hometech named costestimator. I needed to change my card number on file to renew my account. When I did so I was charged one yearly subscription fee and seven monthly subscription fees while the customer service *** tried to help me restore my account. I started this process on a Thursday. Did not get a response until the next day. I was told I would receive a yearly subscription at no charge and would receive a full refund. This did not happen on Friday. When I reached back out on Monday I heard nothing. On Tuesday I heard back and was giver a receipt for the $540 yearly charge. However I have not seen this in my account. Also I have not seen a receipt for the remaining $378 of multiple charges. You cannot reach anyone on the phone, they do not return phone calls, or emails, and they rarely answer their Chat box on their website. I was delayed for three days trying to do my work and lost $918 of my money and have not had a sufficient response to my multiple phone calls, emails, and attempts to chat on their website. HomeTech Publishing has a terrible customer service response. This has caused me time delays, a disappointed customer as I missed a deadline, and a great deal of stress between trying to use my account and then get the problem with multiple charges remedied.

    I started a monthly subscription with Hometech Publishing Online Costestimator in October of 2022. Its an estimating program for trades that perform home remodeling services. I'm a home remodeling ************* first the support was very good but after a month or two the tech support stopped. I would call and receive a voice mail with no return call. It was very frustrating to not have anyone call me back. I tried the sales number and the tech support number without anyone returning my calls. In February of 2023 I called in and requested that my monthly subscription be cancelled as per their cancellation policy. I received an email notifying me that because I was canceling my subscription I would no longer be able to access my account or the estimates I built using their estimating program. I tried signing in to check, but my sign in credentials were no longer valid because my account had been closed. In March I noticed a monthly charge for $54.00 from Hometech Publishing; which was what they were charging me every month to use their estimating program. I thought that maybe I might have cancelled too late in the month of February and that's why they were charging me. In April, once again there was a $54.00 charge from Hometech Publishing. I emailed them requesting a refund of this charge because I had canceled my subscription in February. They did not respond to my email. I immediately contacted my credit card company and filed a fraud compliant against Hometech publishing. They contacted Hometech Publishing and were told, by Hometech publishing, that I had not canceled my subscription. This was a flat out lie and I was surprised and realized that something was terribly wrong with what Hometech Publishing was trying to do. My Hometech account was closed, I could no longer access my account, so why were they still charging my credit card. Hometech did not reach out to me to try and explain why they were still charging my credit card. I tried calling them, leaving messages, emailing them but nobody responded.I contacted my credit card company and they informed me they had put in place a block to prevent Hometech Publishing from charging my credit card; Hometech Publishing tried again in May to charge my account $54.00 but the credit card company blocked them from doing so.Hometech Publishing is actively stealing from me and making no effort to explain why they continue this theft.

    I am rejecting this response because: I never saw a cancel button the entire time I used the program.  Home tech never once responded to my requests to cancel, as per the written directions on their website, my subscription.  Also, they quickly responded to you but have completely ignored my efforts to communicate with them.  Regarding the credit card company response, they rejected my complaint because I made a verbal compliant. When I submitted my email communications with Hometech the credit card company put a block on Hometechs ability to charge my credit card. Hometech is very deceptive, ask them why they have completely ignored communicating with me or responding to my emails. This is the first time I have become aware of this so called cancel button.

    Client has cancelled in the past on 10/13/2022 04:34 PM then restarted the subscription on  .10/24/2022 01:29 PM CDT..... The cancel button is still on the billling tab of the users dashboard, as it always has been.All evidence was submitted to the bank and clients chargeback attempt was *************** further billing will occur, and there are no isssues to resolve, maybe a misunderstanding, but not an actionable issue.

    I am rejecting this response because:  There was no misunderstanding.  Hometech intentionally continued to charge my credit card when I requested, by both email and leaving a voice message requesting cancelation of my subscription.  I personally don't recall ever using a cancel button or where its located in the program.  The reason why Hometech will no longer be billing is that they can't because  my credit card company is putting a block on Hometechs ability to charge my credit card.  Hometech is trying to clean there mess up as much as they can, but still what they did is plain dishonest.  I request that this be posted to warn others, in the future, to be very careful how they do business with this company.

    On Sept 15, 2022, I received and an unauthorized charge to my bank account from this company. For over a week I called over 40 times while emailing roughly 5 and messaging them on their home page through their "bot system". I have not gotten any response whatsoever!! Because of this I will need to change my account information when they could just refund the money and be done.
